Raise Little Ghosts, invite Fox Immortals, change your name to turn your Fortune around, and pay homage to Masters to determine your future.
The Entertainment Circle is a Vanity Fair crowded with handsome men and beautiful women, but once you strip away its glamorous exterior, it’s full of feudal superstition.
Why is that?
Because people in the Entertainment Circle believe in one saying: a little fame comes from being promoted, but great fame comes down to fate.
My name is Feng Shisan. I’m a feng shui agent, and my main clients are stars in the Entertainment Circle.
When I entered the industry, the profession of feng shui agent hadn’t yet taken off. Unlike today, when well-known feng shui agents work across Metaphysics consultations, resource integration, and crisis public relations, providing Fortune protection for stars and investors through Feng Shui assessments and destiny arrangements.
Nowadays, top feng shui agents in the circle take on artists as clients in exchange for a cut of their annual income. The usual rate is 1.5 percent of the artist’s yearly earnings.
One actress born in the 1990s paid over six million a year for this.
For some film projects, just choosing a location for the start of filming costs at least two million.
The reason I entered this line of work was simple: they paid too much.
I come from a Daoist Medical Family and am especially skilled at treating yin.
Treating yin here doesn’t mean catching ghosts or exorcising demons. It means helping people in the Yin Trade Condition the Body.
What is the Yin Trade?
In Xuanmen, people who provide cross-disciplinary spiritual and Feng Shui services such as corpse fishing, spirit-walking, chuma, and spirit-medium rituals are usually called Yin Trade practitioners.
People in the Yin Trade tend to be in poor health, and helping them Condition the Body is what our family does best.
As a result, I have a vast network of Human Meridian connections, which also forms the foundation of my work as a feng shui agent.
The first job I took that was connected to the Entertainment Circle came through Dacheng.
Dacheng is a Northeasterner, and we’re from the same hometown.
When he was a child, he came to my family’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic for treatment. Since we were about the same age, we stayed in touch.
Dacheng contacted me at one in the morning that time. He said something had happened at his Boss’s party.
Who was Dacheng’s Boss?
His Boss was Boss Yang, the internet’s first-generation godfather.
When Boss Yang made his name, Jack Feng, later known as Feng Daddy, could only sit in the second row.
When I got the call, I drove my secondhand Santana straight to Jinghu Building.
Dacheng hadn’t yet made the comedy about a loser that would make him famous across the internet, nor had he earned the teasing nickname “Bathhouse Brothers.” He was just a Producer and host for a program on Jinghu Video.
By the time I arrived at Jinghu Building, Dacheng had already been waiting for me at the entrance for a while.
“What happened?”
After getting out of the car, I followed Dacheng inside and asked him as we walked.
“While everyone was having a great time, one of the models got possessed by evil. Seems it was because of a Buddha Amulet!”
Dacheng filled me in as he led me inside.
He said Boss Yang often hosted parties. Dacheng helped liven things up—in other words, he was there for serving the table.
A friend of Boss Yang’s had come by today, so Boss Yang had picked out a few models through Kongmei Web to entertain him.
What was Kongmei Web?
According to its founder, Kongmei Web was an online platform devoted to promoting culture and the arts. In reality, it was an online version of Heaven on Earth.
Many actresses had worked as models on Kongmei. I won’t name them all here; you can look them up yourselves. They’re all online.
Boss Yang’s friend was a Boss from Hedong. He said the usual kinds of entertainment were boring, and that unlimited fighting had recently become popular where he was from.
Boss Yang was intrigued. He hastily paid to secure a venue, set up a ring, and had six models fight without restrictions. The last one standing would win a prize of two hundred thousand.
Those who lost would get fifty thousand each for medical expenses, so naturally, everyone agreed.
During the fight, a model named Xiaoran had her clothes ripped, and an ornament she wore around her waist was torn off and trampled underfoot.
Throughout it all, Xiaoran kept shouting, “That’s a Buddha Amulet! Don’t step on it! Don’t!”
Everyone was after the two hundred thousand. No one listened, and then things went wrong.
“Brother Feng, Boss Yang is there too. When we go up in a bit, could you go easy on him?”
After briefly explaining what had happened, Dacheng added that.
“Boss Yang hasn’t left?” I asked, a little surprised.
Normally, when something unexpected like this happened, the Bosses upstairs would leave first, hand things over to their underlings, and let them take the blame. Why hadn’t Boss Yang left?
“Brother Feng, when that model started acting strange, I immediately told Boss Yang she might be possessed by evil. But instead of getting scared, he got interested. He said he’d never seen anything like it and wanted to study it!”
Dacheng explained.
“Study it?” I was even more surprised.
Dacheng hesitated, then said, “Brother Feng, let me put it this way. Boss Yang’s been living it up every night for the past few years. He’s seen everything there is to see and done everything there is to do. Money and women don’t really excite him anymore!”
“I see!”
That explained it. He’d had so much sensory stimulation and indulgence that he’d grown jaded.
As we spoke, we reached the top floor. Before the elevator doors opened, Dacheng put his hands together and made a pleading gesture.
“Don’t worry. Boss Yang is a patron. I’m not stupid enough to offend him!”
I said with a laugh.
As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I spotted Boss Yang.
Boss Yang didn’t look like a company president at all. He was half-crouched on the floor, watching a scantily dressed woman about four meters away like a curious child.
The woman was lying on her back, supporting herself with her hands and feet and arching her body into an inverted curve. In yoga, this pose is called the wheel.
The strange thing was that a large section of the woman’s waist and abdomen was sunken inward, as if someone were sitting on her.
The woman’s expression was strange too. She wasn’t unconscious like someone who’d been possessed. She looked to be in great pain, but it was as if something had sealed her mouth, leaving her unable to speak.
“Boss Yang, President Li, this is the Master I told you about—Feng Shisan!”
I was observing the woman when Dacheng, acting like a lackey, went around her and introduced me.
“Can you handle it?”
Boss Yang skipped the pleasantries. He looked me over, then nodded toward the woman, his eyes full of distrust.
“Can’t hurt to try!”
I gave a carefree grin, took out a palm-sized porcelain bottle, opened it, and poured out a drop of clear liquid. After rubbing it over my hand, I closed my eyes and gently rubbed it over my eyelids twice.
When I moved my hand away and looked again, there was a “person” shrouded in black mist sitting on the woman’s waist and abdomen.
Considering what Dacheng had said about the Buddha Amulet, this “person” was most likely a spirit residing in that amulet.
Seeing this, I felt more certain of what was going on.
Boss Yang came closer and asked curiously, “What did you put on?”
“Ghost Eye Paste. It’s used to Open the Heavenly Eye. After you apply it, you can see things ordinary people can’t,” I said.
As for what Ghost Eye Paste is, it’s a kind of Dharma Water made by mixing cow’s tears with dew collected during Yin Hour on Qingming at a certain ratio.
“Want to try some?”
After explaining, I asked with a faint smile.
“Can you really see those things?” Boss Yang grew even more curious.
“Try it and find out,” I said with a smile.
“Give me some!”
Boss Yang’s eyes were full of curiosity about this new thing. Without the slightest hesitation, he nodded, then asked the man behind him, “Old Li, want some too?”
“I’ll pass!”
President Li, whom they called Old Li, waved his hand, looking decidedly uninterested.
At that moment, I had no idea that this President Li was the biological uncle of Eldest Young Master Li, who had inherited the family business in his twenties and been named the richest man in Hedong.
