All Gia could hear were faint sounds of gurgling.
She hesitated at first, but when the sounds did not stop, she walked up to the door.
“Rue,” she called out, hoping against hope for an answer.
“Rue,” she called out again, but there was only that strange sound as she reached the door and slowly pushed it open.
And there she was.
Rue lay on the ground drenched in her own vomit, as Gia screamed out her lungs.
“RUEEE!” Just then, she heard someone walk in.
“Gia! GIA!” and she ran towards that voice.
“Remy! Remy!” She saw him climb up the stairs in strides as she crashed into him and pointed towards her sister’s room.
“RUE! RUE!” and that was all he needed to hear, as he rushed towards the room at full tilt.
For a second, only her sobs filled the house, as her brother seemed struck by the sight in front of him.
But then he screamed for her.
“Gia!” he said, pale-faced and clearly panicked as he crashed out of the room.
“We need to get her to the car! Gia, HELP ME!” and both of them rushed towards Rue’s room.
Remus took the head, and Gia grabbed the legs, as the two of them hurriedly carried their sister down the stairs.
She could feel her sister choking as the two of them pushed her into the backseat of their mother’s car.
“Did you call 911?” Remus asked, and Gia shook her head as she saw her brother reach into his pocket and take out his phone.
He clicked the power button for
“Shit! It’s dead,” he cursed and looked around the neighbourhood.
The usually bustling place was all empty, and so her brother simply took the driving seat and closed the door with a bang.
It was their mother’s car, and her brother had just gotten his permit from teh DMV a few days ago, yet in that moment neither of them cared for that.
The engine came alive with a roar, and they rushed out of the driveway in a hurry.
Gia could not look at her sister, as tears blurred her eyes as Remus raced down the road.
She saw him glancing back through the rearview mirror as he tried to console her.
“It’s going to be fine,” he promised her, but even his own voice shook as he made that promise.
“It’s going to be fine,” and she wondered if he was just trying to reassure himself as they raced down the road.
The Hospital was just a few miles ahead.
She felt a glimmer of hope emerge in her heart, but it died as soon as it had emerged, as suddenly her sister began to convulse wildly in the seat.
“Rue,” she called out weakly as she held her head.
“RUE!” she screamed and prayed.
“NO! NO!” but the convulsions did not stop, as her brother panicked and turned his head towards them.
“Shift her body to one side,” he shouted, while he tried to help her with one hand, and so it was Gia who spotted it first, as suddenly a stroller rolled onto the road right in front of them.
“BROTHER!” she screamed, and he turned his head towards the road in an instant, hit the brakes, and turned the wheel hard.
The last thing Gia saw was the car heading towards a large tree.
BOOOM!
The car hit the tree, and she felt herself getting hurled forward as her head hit the seat in front of her, and the world went dark.
Later, she heard the screams and the sirens as she felt someone grab her body and pull her out.
She felt the pain later, and it was mind-numbing pain until she felt someone inject her with something to dull it.
“Stay with me. Stay with me,” she heard a woman encourage, as she gently tapped her face as the world around her blurred.
The mere act of opening her mouth pained her, but she persisted.
“Sis…” and the kind lady was able to make sense of her words.
“We have got her now. We have got her…”

Leslie Bennet was working late into the night when she received the call.
It was an unknown number, yet she still picked it up as was her habit.
“Hello, who is it?” she asked, as the person on the other end questioned.
“Hi, is this Leslie Bennet speaking?” and now she frowned.
“Yes, who is it?” she questioned again.
“I am Julie. I am calling on behalf of the Palisades General Hospital,” and immediately her heart gave out, as old memories of her husband resurfaced.
“I am afraid that there has been an accident,” and that was all she heard, as the strength left her legs.
She used the table for support as Julie told her about the accident.
Perhaps, it would have been some solace if it had just been one of her children, but to find out that all three of them were in the Hospital.
She could not believe her ears, and her friend saw that something was wrong and came up to her.
“My children,” and she did not even know when she began crying, as her friend’s face turned pale.
“They have been in an accident,” and her friend gasped, as Leslie tried her best to keep herself together.
“I need to get to the Hospital. I need to go,” but she had left her car at home and hitched a ride with Alice.
“I will come with you,” Alice said, turning towards Jacob.
“We need to go to the Hospital. Can you hold down the fort and pass the message to the manager?” Jacob was quick to nod as he walked towards them.
“Go. I will finish up and talk to Martin,” and she was out of the office by then, with Alice running after her.
They got into her car.
“Which Hospital?” she asked.
“Highland General,” she answered without thinking, as she lost her composure and began to weep.
She brought her hands together as she began to pray for mercy.
The car roared down the road until Alice finally pulled into the hospital.
She did not even wait for the car to stop, as she threw open the door and began running towards the hospital, ignoring Alice’s calls from behind.
She reached the counter, and a nurse sat there.
“I am Leslie Bennet. I received a call,” and she saw the recognition hit the woman at once.
“Yes,” she stood up and walked towards her.
“You told me there was an accident. What happened? Are they fine?” she bombarded her with questions, and the woman shook her head.
“I believe Nurse Julie will have all the details for you.” She led her to the Emergency, and the place was bustling even at night, as the woman called for the nurse.
It took her half a minute to come, and Leslie was running thin on patience.
“My children?” she asked in desperation.
“Are they fine?” and the lack of an immediate answer was enough for her as the woman gently placed an arm around her back.
“Please, sit,” she led her to one of the rooms to the side, as Leslie broke down.
“What happened?” she asked.
“We are still trying to piece together the information, but it seems like your elder daughter OD’ed, and the other two were rushing her to the Hospital when the car veered off course and crashed into a tree,” and she gasped as she heard those words.
She had known that Rue was going through some stuff, and she had never been quite the same ever since her husband had died.
But she had simply hoped that this was just a phase and that she was simply exploring things.
But she was wrong, and now all her children were suffering because of her.
“No one else was harmed, and the Police are still investigating the details. Thankfully, there was an ambulance just a few minutes behind them, and so they were brought to the Hospital in no time,” and Leslie nodded, as she saw Alice walk into the Triage, and began looking around.
Their eyes met, and she gave her a nod as she turned towards the nurse once more.
“How are they?” she asked again, and just then another nurse came into the room with a quick nod.
“Julie, I have the updates on the Bennet kids,” and she saw the nurse take the tablet from her, and the door was closed behind her.
“Your youngest has just woken up. She sustained very minor injuries. Scraps and bruises mostly, but she hit her head pretty hard, so we would like to keep her here for observation and do a CT to rule out any hemorrhage,” and that was some relief.
“Your elder daughter, Rue. It seems like she has quite a history of drug abuse.” She saw the woman scroll through her charts before she met her eyes.
“She OD’ed, but thankfully we were able to intervene in time. We will need to keep an eye on her for the next forty-eight hours, but we believe that she will pull through,” and Leslie gave a sigh of relief, but the dread began to fill her up once more as she saw the kind woman scroll to the next page.
“What about Remus?” The woman took a second before she answered.
Her husband had named him for one of his favourite characters from a British Novel.
He was older than Rue by a year.
“Your son sustained heavy injuries because of the crash. He has multiple fractures in his spine, and he also broke his leg. He is in an operating theatre as we speak, and we are doing everything we can to save him,” and Leslie felt her world shatter at those words, as she began to cry.
The woman waited for a few seconds before she placed a gentle hand on her back.
“I am sorry about doing this to you, but the Police are here, and they want to question your youngest daughter about the accident,” and Leslie nodded.
“I will take you to her. You can talk to her, and be there when the Police come to question her….”

Honestly, I have always wanted to write a showbiz SI, but I have always chickened out in the end.
I have been trying to push myself for more than a year now, and it took me that long to form something of a cohesive idea.
This is going to be a bit different than my other fics, and honestly, I am really, really nervous about putting this out.
But I have decided that it is time.
The story is based on Euphoria, though the show will not have too much influence on it.
I have a few crossovers in mind, and you will see them later, but I am going to try to focus the story on MC and his journey.
There might be some inaccuracies here, so please forgive me for that.
I can only hope that guys enjoy this.
With all my love.
