“Leave this to us. Big Brother can go to his room, wash up, and try on the new clothes. If they don’t fit, we can exchange them tomorrow,” Di Kun said.

“Mm!” Su Yi replied happily.

Di Kun looked at Su Yue.

“You should go wash up and rest early. Leave this to me.”

Su Yue glanced at him, then took the equipment and tools bought tonight out of her storage space.

“It’s still early. I’ll work with you. Let’s stop by ten.”

Di Kun frowned.

“Nine o’clock. You go back to rest; I’ll continue. And I’ll handle hiring.”

Su Yue hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

“We need to go to the hospital for a prenatal check tomorrow, so don’t stay up too late.”

Di Kun’s heart warmed.

“Don’t worry.” Feeling cared for by his wife was a wonderful sensation.

The two quickly got to work.

The household robot peeled oranges on the side, while Di Kun and Su Yue worked together—one filling juice cups, the other sealing lids—moving very efficiently.

Once a batch of juice was filled, Di Kun took more oranges to squeeze a second batch.

After producing a large barrel of juice, they continued filling cups.

About half an hour later, Su Yi returned.

Dressed in new clothes and shoes, he looked very pleased.

Seeing Su Yi so happy lifted Su Yue’s mood as well.

“You’re not needed here, and don’t get your clothes dirty,” she said.

“Go watch TV in your room and rest early. Tomorrow morning, I’ll go with Di Kun for the prenatal check, and you can handle the juice,” Su Yue added.

She had actually considered letting her brother go to Wu Bian Square to guard Zhan Feng while selling juice, but he couldn’t manage it alone. So he stayed home.

“Want to see the baby? I want to go too!” Su Yi’s eyes lit up.

“The hospital is crowded, and too many people would be inconvenient. Di Kun can accompany me,” Su Yue replied.

She wanted her brother to come, but having made a bet with Di Kun, she had agreed already.

Seeing Su Yi’s eyes dim, Su Yue continued, “The hospital isn’t fun.”

“Big Brother doesn’t need to go to the hospital to see the baby. Once we’ve saved enough to buy a medical pod, we’ll have one at home. Then you can see the baby every day.”

Su Yi’s eyes brightened again.

“Great! Then I’ll make more juice! Sister and Brother-in-law sell the juice, and we can save for a medical pod!” With that, he went over to help.

He wasn’t going to watch TV—he wanted to make juice!

Su Yue and Di Kun exchanged a glance and smiled.

Since Big Brother was willing to stay, they’d work together.

The sunroom now had three people working.

At nine o’clock, Di Kun reminded Su Yue to go back and rest.

She didn’t resist, storing the finished juice and cleaning up trash before going upstairs.

But she didn’t rest yet—she prepared a late-night snack for the two men in the sunroom.

Though they had eaten plenty already, they still enjoyed the snacks and finished everything she brought.

In her room, Su Yue showered and washed her hair.

Her short hair dried easily.

Lying on the soft, comfortable bed, she relaxed completely and soon fell asleep.

In the sunroom downstairs, Di Kun and Su Yi continued working until ten before finishing for the night.

Returning upstairs, Di Kun checked Su Yue’s room before going to his own.

While washing up, he called Tao Fu to finalize the hiring arrangements, then went to bed.

The next day, Su Yue rarely woke from her biological clock and instead slept until eight.

Hmm… probably because the bed was too comfortable.

After washing up and leaving the room, she didn’t see the two men at home.

She went downstairs and found them in the sunroom, already hard at work.

Su Yue greeted them and returned upstairs to make breakfast.

Today’s breakfast was noodles again.

She thought that during her free time, she could make and store dumplings, tangyuan, or other items so breakfast at home could be more varied.

Yes, buns, mantou, soy milk with fried dough sticks could also be considered—stored in her space for future use.

During breakfast, Di Kun and Su Yi, as before, were very respectful and true to their appetite.

“I’ve already hired the juice sellers. They’ll report to Wu Bian Square later,” Di Kun said.

“After breakfast, we can go together, then head to the hospital,” he added suddenly.

Su Yue was surprised.

“So soon?”

“They were introduced by a previous customer. Two people: one a retired soldier from the frontlines, the other a military family member. Both are locals.”

“I decided on a monthly wage of 4,000, with a 1,000 performance bonus. They’ll rotate shifts with four days off per month.”

Su Yue nodded.

“Let’s meet them first and see.”

After breakfast, Su Yue and Di Kun headed out.

Arriving at Wu Bian Square, Di Kun’s rented spot had been transformed overnight into a food cart.

The sign read: ‘Yue Yue Mech Natural Juice’.

Outside were two small display screens—one listing juice types and prices, the other giving a brief introduction of the mech and noting that buying juice allowed a photo with the mech.

Both screens could be edited.

The cart had a sizable workspace inside.

Outside, a large area was cleared for the mech.

At that moment, the two new hires stood nearby, waiting.

Both were men: one older, estimated around fifty, blind in one eye and wearing an eye patch, named Kang Heping; the other younger, eighteen, dark-skinned and slightly malnourished, named Wang Xiaohu.

Su Yue glanced at Di Kun, then approached to ask about them.

Both were nervous but explained their situations honestly.

Kang Heping, fifty-one, retired from the frontlines five years ago due to his eye injury. His family had ongoing medical expenses, and his compensation wasn’t enough to support them. He hadn’t even replaced the missing eye with a prosthetic.

Wang Xiaohu, eighteen, lost his elder brother on the frontlines three years ago. With younger siblings to support, his family’s burden was heavy.

“Miss Su, don’t worry. We’ll do our best!”

“Our wages… even if a bit low, it’s fine!” Kang Heping added nervously, afraid Su Yue would reject him.

With his injury and past battlefield traumas, it was difficult for him to find proper work.

He couldn’t compete with young people in resource collection outside the city, and the risk of death in the wild was high.

Yesterday, the recruitment office contacted him with this job, which offered good pay.

A monthly salary of 4,000 plus bonuses—a great opportunity. Even hiring a disabled man would be in demand, let alone a healthy young person; many would compete for it.
