'I hope everything goes smoothly Saturday.'
He thought before focusing on the approaching Gwen, dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt. She looked lovely.
"Ready for our second date, Gwen?"

She blushed before replying,
"If you stop looking at me like that, I will be."
"I'm sorry," he replied shamelessly.
She rolled her eyes at his tone.
"No, you're not."
He smiled back at her.
"No, I'm not. You are beautiful, Gwen."
She huffed and turned away from his gaze before changing the subject.
"So what film would you like to see?"
"Let's wait until we see what's playing. I know that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is still running in cinemas."
They continued speaking about potential movies to see while walking towards his apartment. To hide her slight nervousness at being alone in a boy's apartment for the first time, Gwen spoke quickly, sometimes not even waiting for an answer.
From the side glance he gave her, he seemed to have guessed why she was doing so, but chose not to say anything.
When they entered his apartment, Bast was waiting on his entrance mat. The moment Gwen saw her, she rushed to pick her up, making baby noises as she cradled the black cat in her arms.
"She is so cute, Arthur. How is she so cute?"
He replied deadpan,
"I know. She is a real cat goddess."
But when Bast started to purr from Gwen caressing her, he quickly started to hold back a laugh, seeing the Panther Goddess so easily tamed by just some petting.
She seemed to guess what he was thinking about because, without Gwen seeing her, she glared at him. He decided to interrupt them.
"Alright, Gwen, I know my cat is cute, but we have a film to go watch and a dinner to go to afterwards."
She seemed reluctant to let go of Bast, not that he could blame her. If he didn't know who she was, he wouldn't stop petting the cute black cat that she was.
Finally, she sighed and said jokingly,
"This will give me another reason to come back here."
"You don't need one. You can come here anytime."
He blushed as he realised what he had said, before looking at his watch and seeing the time.
"Let's go or we will miss the 6 o'clock session."
Arthur chose a cinema near his apartment, so they were quickly in line to buy their tickets. While waiting their turn, they were trying to agree on what movie to see.
"But Arthur, I couldn't go see Inglourious Basterds when it came out, and now it's going back to the big screen for a week. I want to see it."
"I understand, but what film would we regret the most seeing, Harry Potter or Inglourious Basterds?"
She pouted before looking up at him and smiling victoriously. Just as he was starting to worry for her mental health, she leaned up to speak in his ear in a low voice. What she whispered to him will stay a mystery until the end of time.
What anyone needs to know is that he ultimately agreed to go see Inglourious Basterds.
Almost three hours later, they happily walked out of the cinema, chatting about the film. Gwen looked particularly excited.
"This film is so good. I could see it again and again and never get tired of it."
Arthur appeared less excited but had not liked it any less than Gwen.
"It really is a great film. Christoph Waltz gave me chills the entire movie."
"To whom didn't he give chills? That is the question. It's crazy to think that this was an unknown actor until two years ago. He is so talented."
"I know, right? It makes you wonder how many talented actors we never know about because they don't receive an opportunity."
They both continued talking about the film while Arthur guided Gwen towards the restaurant of his choice, a medium-sized Mexican place three blocks away from his place that he had discovered fortuitously while walking home. He had eaten there once and was impressed by the quality and taste of the food.
Having made a reservation the day before, they were quickly escorted to their table, a little isolated towards the back of the room. Low lights were giving the place a romantic atmosphere that caused both teens to blush at each other.
Still, it was with a smile on their faces that they ordered two plates of enchiladas. While waiting, they talked.
"So how did you like your first week in Uni?"
"I liked it. Biology is simply too exciting to me not to like it. Even when some of the professors seem to want to die, I still like it. And you, how is engineering?"
"Good. I'm a little disappointed to learn that we will only do practical exercises in the second semester, so I will have to do some on the side."
"You never told me what you wanted to do after your bachelor's degree."
"Because I don't really know. There's a chance I could continue studying to do a PhD, but I'm not sure. I know that I like building things, but I don't really know how to transform that into real-life money yet."
"You could build your own company if you managed to create something, you know?"
"Yeah, but I would need enough capital to start with, capital which I don't have yet. But enough about me. Do you know what you want to do after?"
As they were talking, their orders arrived. They barely registered it, lost in their conversation. Still, they started eating when the delicious smell of their dishes reached their noses.
"I will continue towards a PhD, and then enter the biological industry. With companies like Oscorp or Stark, finding a job shouldn't be too hard."
"The confidence you have in your own potential in biology is sexy, I hope you know that."
She blushed at his straight words.
"I did not know that, but I am happy that you are not intimidated by my ambitions."
"Why would I be? There's nothing sadder than someone without ambition. Even if I don't know my own yet, don't think I will allow myself to stagnate. I will find my ambition."
"BOOOOMM"
As they were slowly eating dinner and relaxing, the building suddenly caved in. A giant suit had crashed into it.
