After another successful win on day 2, I managed to follow it up for the next 2 days and win both matches as well, with 4 wins in 4 games, leading me to the weekend, where I'm currently watching the Premier League, where Ass is playing.

Of course, on the couch with me were my triplet brothers and mom.

Ethan is currently in Europe somewhere in some football academy. He definitely told me the name at some point, but I forgot.Full novel: Fame System Forced Upon Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Well, apparently he'll be back home in about a month for the long school holidays, which goes for 7 weeks, so I'll get to hang out with my only cool sibling then.

Why do I say Ethan is the only cool sibling? Well, he's the only mature one and believe it or not, hanging out with my mom all the time as a 5-year-old isn't too great because I'm not treated as an equal, and I accept that it's just the way it is. Until I'm like 18 it'll probably stay that way.

But with Ethan, while he might be pretending he treats me fully as if I were the same age as him, like one of the bros or girls, I guess in my case.

He's also naturally talented at a lot of stuff like sport, academics, and even stuff like poker. Although I haven't been allowed to watch him play yet, from what I've overheard, he's pretty good at it.

Well, sadly, I'm not watching Ethan play right now. His academy matches are something we can only watch the recordings of occasionally due to timezone differences; watching his games at 3 am isn't really possible for me.

Ass' games are played all over the place, so sometimes we get to watch them, like right now.

Ass plays for Manchester United, a club that used to be seen as quite good but in recent years has taken a bit of a downturn in performance and some scandals that ruined the club's image.

Of course, it was those problems that led my dad to play for a team he normally wouldn't even be considered for. Don't get me wrong, Ass is good at football but not that good. While in Australia he might be seen as the best, in terms of global recognition he's just known as an insufferable ass who sometimes scores.

Heh, every time people hate on him in the news I love it. Especially that American soccer show; they just say it straight like 'He's good by Australian standards.'

If I had my own tablet, I would have downloaded that clip and left it on repeat for at least a few days just to really soak it in.

Sadly, without a tablet, all I can do is hate on him at home with all of his fanboys surrounding me.

"Why didn't the winger pass it up Dad was open."

He was offside.

"Aww, the defender got lucky there."

Nope, it's called having eyeballs.

"If only it was 4 cm lower."

If only the ball landed in the net. What kind of dumbass what ifs are these?

If it's in its in; if it's not its not; that's it. Don't be saying, 'Oh, but it was so close this,' it is binary; it's either 1 or 0, goal or miss.

Of course, all of this is said internally and not aloud, the last time I hated on Ass in my home, I felt what those wrestlers from the WWE feel when they are performing.

Not an experience I want to relive anytime soon.

The game eventually ended with a 0-0 draw, with my dad having 5 shots and only 3 of them on target.

Maybe someday he'll learn how to shoot properly, but probably not; he's way too old to learn now hehe.

Later, when having dinner, my triplet brothers were somehow surprised by my flawless performance so far in the chess tournament and told mom to watch out for me cheating as it would dishonour the Leonidas name.

Mom kind of ignored it, but in my opinion, cheating, if anything, would actually be more on brand with the Leonidas name.

Funnily enough, Australian sports has quite its fair share of cheating or unethical behaviour. Leonidas, while probably not the most obvious example, would certainly be up there in terms of names that give Australia this reputation.

After another fun weekend of banter (bullying), my triplet brother's mom and I were back out to the chess tournament and this time Jacob and his mom Amanda were nowhere in sight due to his age group already finishing.

Thank god for that, that Jacob was fun to tease (bully), but mom strictly forbade it.

Sadly being friends with him didn't seem that interesting, so it felt kind of like fishing without any bait. Just plain boring with wild hope of something interesting happening.

After mom got seated, I heard the familiar, tiring voice of the arbiter announcing that the pairings were ready and I went to look for my matchup and was surprised to see that only 3 other people were on maximum points (4/4) like me.

Meaning if I win the next 2 rounds I'd pretty much have won the whole thing. Of course, this also means if I lose, I'm pretty much guaranteed to lose out on first place.

For this round, as per usual, I was located in SC-1 and was surprised to find out my opponent was a girl. I was surprised because her name is Riley and I just assumed they were male.

"Hello, are you Riley?" I asked politely.

"Yes." She answered.

Damn, no small talk at all.

She seemed like one of those girls you'd see studying in the library during lunchtime and have wild fantasies due to all the erotica she'd read.

Well, basically, a girl nerd; she had the glasses, the hunched back and everything else one could imagine.

"Shake hands, start your games." The arbiter announced, and like that we started.

After about 10 moves, it was still equal, which is how most chess games should be, but it was quite shocking to me in the moment due to the ease of winning I've had in my previous games.

Another 10 moves are played, and I think I see a tactic.

If I take on c6 with my knight and they capture back with their pawn, I at least get back my material with my rook capturing the pawn and later capturing the bishop on c4. If they don't capture and move their queen down a square to a4 and give check as long as I don't go to the right and just go up to d2, I won't lose my queen by pin with black's rook to e8 and can still threaten with the knight afterwards...

Well basically, I win at least a pawn and get a great attacking position to completely dogpile the enemy king at worst; at best, I completely win the game if they are dumb.

The girl opposite me didn't seem to really see any of it. After a minute of thinking, she decided to take with bxc6 (pawn takes) and after my rook took on c6, she started thinking for much longer.

Eventually, after another 10 minutes, she decided to go to Kb8; from there I had mate in 6, and possibly a huge grin on my face.

After the win, I went home with mom and had another normal day at home.

But tomorrow is kind of the final match. I say kind of because if I win here, I'm pretty much guaranteed to win, as everyone after this match will be of a lower skill level; of course, that assumption only holds true if I win.

When I was trying to fall asleep, I was just too excited that I couldn't fall asleep and decided to try running around the house to tire myself out.

And after only 50 metres of running, I heard mom get up from the lounge and stare me down with a 'what are you doing?' look.

"Mom, I'm too excited for tomorrow. I can't fall asleep." I said as I continued running.

"Want to try some of these then?" Mom said as she went back to the lounge and grabbed a container of gummies.

"Are these those melatonin gummies? Yes, please."

After consuming one of them, I went back to bed and lay down like usual.

In my past life, I was hard anti-drug to the point where I'd avoid consuming caffeine more than once a week and would only taka paracetamol if my head hurt so bad I literally couldn't stand straight.

Well, it was also more of a stance against the state of the world and how we were culturing antibiotic-resistant bacteria due to overusage of antibiotics.

Nah, realistically I just wanted to be that cool guy who was different and it goddamn worked...
