The Knights of the Round Table watched as Lancelot disappeared.

“He was taken away by his current Master using a command spell; pay it no mind.”

Artoria scanned the surroundings, her gaze finally settling on a specific direction.Full novel: Fate: I Am the Oldest King — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

A Servant wearing a black veil crown and wielding a massive cross spear stepped out.

Berserker Morgan (Image).

As Morgan appeared, Gawain, Mordred, Agravain, and the others were instantly stunned.

“Mother?”

Morgan remained silent, pointing the tip of her cross spear at a streetlamp and firing a light beam.

“?”

Gwyn leapt lightly, landing on an adjacent streetlamp.

Morgan continued to turn her spear tip, firing another light beam.

This time Gwyn finally understood—the opponent could indeed find him, and she was coming for him specifically.

He deactivated ‘Invisible Body’ and ‘Spook’.

The former was a spell to hide one’s form, while the latter erased sound and presence, and prevented damage when falling from heights.

Gwyn landed on the ground and casually threw out a Soul Crystal Spear, blowing away Morgan’s light beam.

Due to the unique nature of the Soul Crystal Spear, the light beam didn’t even explode; it was covered by countless crystals and dissipated.

Crystals fell to the ground, shattering everywhere with a pleasant tinkling sound.

“Soul Magic and Crystal Magic? Heh.”

Upon seeing this Soul Crystal Spear, Morgan suddenly seemed as if she had been greatly provoked, and her offensive became even more frenzied.

Using her long spear as a staff, she aimed at Gwyn and fired a blue Soul Spear.

Seeing this move, Gwyn was stunned for a rare moment: “You know this too?”

He remembered that the Type-Moon World didn’t have soul spells, right?

There was only the Third Magic, Heaven’s Feel, for the materialization of the soul.

This was clearly something from the Dark Souls world.

He had learned it all from Big Hat Logan.

However, he eventually completed his apprenticeship and went a step further, finishing the research on soul crystallization before Logan did.

He had also completed the unfinished research of Seath the Scaleless—the immortal crystal—preventing the outcome where Logan became hollowed due to an obsession with Crystal Magic.

Morgan is Morgan, and Logan is Logan.

“Of course I know it, after all, you were the one who taught me personally!”

“My dear… Teacher!”

Morgan’s tone was chilling, like a female ghost who had just crawled out of the ground after a thousand years of resentment.

Her attacks carried personal grievances; holding her spear-staff, she fired Soul Spears at Gwyn as if her life depended on it, throwing out dozens in less than three seconds.

“Are you a Berserker or a Caster? Why do you keep casting spells?”

Gwyn casually threw out several Soul Spears encased in blue crystals, neutralizing a large portion of Morgan’s offensive.

He easily dodged the remaining few Soul Spears.

“Also, why don’t I remember ever having a disciple?”

“And if you were once my disciple, how could you only learn the Soul Spear and not the Soul Crystal Spear?”

“There is a world of difference between a crystallized Soul Spear and one that isn’t.”

Hearing this, Morgan became even more enraged.

“This is all thanks to you, you bastard teacher!”

“You said crystallization was too dangerous and wouldn’t teach me, yet you taught that person over there!”

The Knights of the Round Table looked in the direction she pointed, only to find the target was Artoria.

“Hmm?” Artoria’s natural authority silenced the wild thoughts of the group.

Morgan then directly charged at Gwyn with her long spear, swinging the massive weapon to smash him.

“Crystallization is indeed dangerous. If researched too deeply, one mistake can lead to soul mutation and madness.”

“I told you those words and wouldn’t let you learn crystallization? Could it be you really are my disciple?”

“If you weren’t my true disciple, I wouldn’t have given such warnings and care; I wouldn’t have cared if you lived or died.”

Gwyn fell into deep thought, frantically searching his memory to find the things Morgan mentioned.

He found nothing.

Morgan was momentarily stunned, her attack pausing, but she immediately followed up with a wild flurry of spear swings, each strike causing massive damage to the ground or the shipping containers.

“She is currently a Berserker, afflicted with Mad Enhancement. It is only normal for her behavior and speech to be so frantic,” Artoria said.

“…”

The Knights of the Round Table dared not speak, thinking to themselves: can something like Mad Enhancement really affect Morgan (Mother)?

She clearly only lost her mind like this after seeing that man.

Gwyn took out the spiral sword to parry Morgan’s offensive.

“Even if you really are my disciple, given this craze of yours, you probably weren’t easy to handle.”

Gwyn delivered a powerful horizontal slash, forcing Morgan back.

“If you really are my disciple, then you must have misunderstood something.”

“We can sit down and have a proper talk, otherwise… I also know a bit of martial arts.”

Gwyn gave the spiral sword a sharp flick, causing flames to burst along it, then switched it to its spear form.

Morgan held a spear longer than herself; an inch longer meant an inch stronger.

He had been holding a straight sword—though short and sharp, it was a disadvantage in melee combat against the spear, the king of weapons.

Thus, he also changed the spiral sword into its spear form.

The spiral sword in his hand was the most authentic version, capable of transforming into almost any weapon form.

Straight sword, greatsword, ultra greatsword, katana, curved sword, curved greatsword, hand axe, greataxe, spear, dagger, staff, Sacred Chime, whip…

and what he considered the strongest and most important, the small scythe.

“You taught me: if you want someone to sit down and talk to you properly, you must first beat them to their knees.”

“If you want me to talk to you properly, then defeat me first.”

Morgan once again turned into a mage, standing in place to fire Soul Arrows.

In a few seconds, hundreds of Soul Arrows erupted from the tip of her great spear.

This was also a type of soul spell; its power was inferior to the Soul Spear, but its mana cost was lower and its casting was faster.

“Fine then, let’s treat this as a warm-up.”

Gwyn didn’t mind.

Facing the rapidly approaching rain of Soul Arrows, he stood his ground without dodging.

He pulled out a max-level Sacred Chime with his left hand and gave it a gentle shake, causing a layer of white halo to cover his body.

[Great Magic Barrier], which can significantly increase Magic Resistance for a period of time.

With his current ability, he could probably obtain A+++ rank [Magic Resistance] for about ten minutes.

Then the rain of Soul Arrows hit.

Gwyn took a bath in it, yawned, and casually patted the slightly dusty armor.

This was already Gwyn being merciful by not using [Crystal Magic Barrier], otherwise he would have been directly immune to magic.

“Spells aren’t meant to be used like that.”

Watching her use the soul spells he was so familiar with once again, Gwyn perhaps began to believe that she really might be his disciple.

His tone softened slightly, and a desire to teach arose within him.
