A few days after the start of Mathew’s training with Altier, the ship finally arrives at the village to get supplies for the rest of the journey to the Northern Quadrant.
Nice and the rest of his party gets down from the ship looking refreshed meanwhile Mathew on the other hand looked like he had gone through hell.
“Geez Grey you look like shit” said Nice.
Mathew turns to him “I feel like shit and it’s all because of her”.
Saying that he jerks his chin towards Altier “I’m telling you Nice, Altier’s training is really gruesome I’ve barely slept these past few days “.
Nice folds his hands and begins walking forward “but you have to admit the training she’s giving you is pretty effective isn’t it”
Mathew follows Nice and says “yes it is really good “.
Hearing that Nice smiles “so you don’t have anything to complain about do you now?”.
Mathew clicks his tongue in annoyance “yes I guess not”.
“Good with that out of the way, let’s start moving to get supplies” he places his hand on Mathew’s shoulder and moves towards the village.
On getting to the village Ellie and Altier stops at an item shop to buy some things, there they meet an old man with gray hair wearing a light tunic.
“Good day to you sir” Ellie says.
The old man turns and looks at her with a lost expression “good day to you as well what would you look to purchase?”.
Altier steps forward looking at the old man warily “I’d like to buy aether millipede skin and a side dagger”.
Hearing that the old man nods and goes behind the shop to bring the items.
“Hey Ellie, don’t that man seem a little absent to you” asked Altier.
Ellie looks up at her and says “I don’t know he looks normal to me”.
Immediately after that the old man returns with the items “these will be five western pieces miss”.
Altier reaches to her pocket and pulls out the amount handing them over to the old man “here you go sir”.
The old man just stands still without saying a word.
Seeing that Altier drops the western pieces on the counter and proceeds to meet up with Nice and other members of the party.
Somewhere else in the village Mathew, Quiver and Nice goes into a bar and sits.
Within the bar the trio notices that no one was there except the bar tender who just stood behind the counter with a lost expression on his face.
The trio then make their way to the counter.
Nice sits and waves calling the bar tender’s attention “hey bar tender get us a few drinks please” without sparing him a glance the bartender moves to get their drink.
Nice places his hand on the counter “what a weird guy right?” Quiver nods his head “I guess so” while Mathew just remained silent.
A few moments later the bar tender returns with the drinks and walks back to his original position.
Seeing this Nice tries to speak to him but the bar tender still remains silent.
After a while they finish their drinks and leave.
“Seriously that guy’s just too weird” says Nice, Mathew places his hands behind his back and replies “yeah I guess so” meanwhile Quiver couldn’t help but have a wary expression on his face.
Nice noticing Quiver’s expression asks “hey what’s up with that face you’re making?”, Quiver turns to him “it’s nothing I just feel like we shouldn’t be here” hearing that Nice opens his eyes wide in shock “are you feeling concern about something?” Nice asks but Quiver just shrugs and keeps walking.
After a while they all gathered back at the ship and settled down for dinner.
Altier couldn’t help but have a suspicion expression and eventually she says “did you guys notice something strange today?” Frank swallowed his food before speaking “i didn’t notice anything per se what about you guys?”.
Nice drops his spoon and says “well the people we met In this village did feel a bit odd like something was possessing them”.
Hearing that Altier turns to Nice “there’s something going here, this place don’t just feel right” Nice picks up his spoon and says “well I think we’re just being paranoid, I’m sure this village is just a normal one like the rest of them” but even after saying that Nice still couldn’t remove the thought from his head.
Later that night while everyone was asleep, Nice stepped down from the ship and heads towards the village “I know I’m just being paranoid but it’s better to be safe than sorry” with that he continues and eventually arrives at the village.
Nice then goes to a house near the island, he tries to enter through the window but notices the windows where already opened, he then enters the house and looks around to see if anyone was home but there was no one.
He then goes to another house only to find no one in.
He then goes around the entire village looking for a single soul but no one was found.
Nice eventually gives up and heads back to the ship .
The next morning the captain of the ship raises an alarm saying that two people are missing from the ship.
Hearing that Altier turns her head and looks at the village from a distance .
“there’s really something up with that place”.
