Hazel’s smile deepened the moment she saw Ryan.
He was dressed in a black suit, his short black hair neatly combed.
He looked completely different from the playful man she knew.
He looked very serious.
He stood in the middle of the pack house, giving orders to the servants as they prepared everything for the evening.
“Put the tables closer to the garden.”
“No, not there. The food should be served after the event.”
“And make sure the candles are ready before the moon rises. I don’t want anything missing.”
The servants quickly nodded and rushed around to follow his instructions.
Hazel stood a few steps away, quietly watching him.
Ryan was very handsome.
She couldn’t stop staring.
He looked like someone who was born to give orders.
Hazel smiled to herself.
She couldn’t wait for him to mark her.
Once the mark was on her, she would finally be able to talk to him through the mind link.
She could already imagine herself annoying him every morning.
Good morning, mate.
Are you thinking about me?
I know you’re thinking about me.
She almost laughed.
But then she looked at the moon.
Her smile slowly disappeared.
The evening was moving too fast.
It was already six o’clock.
Her heart began beating faster.
Her phone suddenly vibrated.
She looked down and saw a message from Ryan.
” I’m ready.
Go to the room I prepared for you.”
Hazel’s cheeks turned red.
She quickly looked around before putting her phone away.
She walked toward him.
When she reached him, she smiled.
“Don’t take too long.” She whispered in excitement.
Ryan looked at her for a moment neither of them spoke.
Then Hazel quickly turned around and walked away.
She glanced at the sky.
The moon was already beginning to appear.
She looked back nervously.
Ryan was still standing there, watching her.
But something about his expression made her stop.
Was he sad?
Hazel frowned.
Why did he look like that?
She shook the thought away.
They would talk about it when he joined her.
She hurried toward the room.
Tonight was supposed to be special, and also the night she would finally have her mate, if possible, her wolf would come.
Hazel sighed and headed toward the room with a straight face, so that no one would pay attention to her.
…
The room was beautiful.
Hazel stood in the middle of it and looked around.
Everything had been decorated exactly the way she liked.
Soft lights filled the room.
White flowers were placed around the bed and near the windows.
There were small candles everywhere.
Even the curtains were her favorite color.
Hazel smiled.
That was Ryan, of course…
He was strangely good at things like this.
He remembered every little thing she liked.
Talents like that were rare among werewolves.
Hazel sat on the edge of the bed.
Her hands were shaking.
She checked her phone.
6:30 p.m.
She sighed.
“Ryan… hurry.” She whispered…
She quickly checked the window and sighed nervously.
Outside, the pack was becoming busier.
The sounds of people moving around filled the compound.
Not long after, several expensive cars began arriving at the pack house.
Important Alphas and their families were coming for the celebration.
Then another car arrived.
Hazel sighed, ” Father is back from the meeting!”
Her heart dropped the moment she saw the moon, almost out “It’s time,” she whispered.
She quickly picked up her phone and sent Ryan another message.
” Please come and mark me before the full moon comes out completely.” She added a crying emoji.
Then she stared at the screen….
But no response.
Hazel bit her lip.
“Come on, Ryan.”
She checked the time again.
Seven o’clock.
Her heart sank.
The full moon would completely rise at eight.
She still had time.
At least, she thought she did.
Worry flooded her chest.
She jumped off the bed and rushed to the door.
Just as her fingers touched the handle, the door opened from the outside.
Two of her father’s guards stood there.
Behind them was Beta Raphael.
His face looked tired and almost sorry.
“I understand how you feel, Princess,” he said in a quiet voice.
“But you have to be there. It is very important.”
Hazel stepped back.
Fear filled her eyes.
Tears started to rise.
“No…” she whispered.
This was not the plan.
This was not what she and Ryan had decided.
Then another figure stepped out from behind Beta Raphael.
Scarlett!!!!
The girl grinned wide, her eyes shining with mean joy.
“I told you,” Scarlett said.
“She would be hiding here.”
Hazel’s fear turned into sharp anger.
Of all people… why did it have to be her worst enemy?
Scarlett crossed her arms and kept smiling as if she had already won something.
” Hello, old friend” She raised a brow.
She glanced at the silver chain and gritted her teeth.
” Your good day is about to end”
