Alex stood before the summoning circle, staring at the perfectly drawn runes.
Nothing happened.
No light, no energy, no Servant.
The circle remained completely inert.
“What the fuck…” he muttered.
It had already been a week since he fully mind-controlled Amunet.
The operation was progressing successfully, everything was going smoothly, but when he tried to summon his third Servant… nothing came out.
“Did I make a mistake?
A week should have passed since I summoned Medea…” Alex said.
“No… You did nothing wrong,” a familiar voice spoke.
Alex turned around and saw the black cat lazing on top of the shelf.
“Nioh.”
“So… where is the Servant I summoned?” Alex asked.
“You haven’t summoned anyone… Not because you can’t… Rather, the circle has judged you unworthy of it yet…” Nioh replied.
“I’m being judged now?” Alex asked.
“Not in that sense… It is judging your mana capacity.
Right now, you can compensate with your bodily fluids, but a third Servant… you won’t be able to do that.
Having three Servants out, even at their most minimum, is too much for you… You wouldn’t even be able to walk.
If you summon a fourth… you’d almost certainly die.
And with your immortality, you’ll be stuck in a death and life loop,” Nioh explained.
“So in a sense, you can force a summon.
It’s just that the circle thinks it’s better you don’t… If you try again… you can, but… the consequences will be dire…” the cat continued.
“My advice for you… is to start your training… It’s high time you started to delve into the world of magical control,” Nioh said.
Alex narrowed his eyes, then spoke, “Fine… Phase two of the plan won’t start anytime soon anyways.”
…
With that, Alex decided it was time to begin magic training…
how to increase his capacity and how to control it.
He left the operation in the hands of Amunet and Medusa while he and Medea went into secluded training.
Amunet had managed to find him a nice hidden place where he could train unbothered.
“Master… It pains me to say this… But you have absolutely no talent… for magic,” Medea said on the first day of training.
She was a very experienced mage….
perhaps one of the most experienced in history….
so for her to say that, it was quite dire.
“But that doesn’t mean Master can’t increase his capacity or control,” she continued.
“You’re more suited for physical combat, but magic is something that everyone has, even a small amount of it.
So if we train on control and capacity increase only… we should be able to increase your capacity by quite a bit!”
“Good… I don’t need to become a master magician like you anyways.
You’re enough.
Magic is too flashy in my opinion anyways…” Alex replied.
And so, the training started.
….
And with that, three months passed.
Alex spent almost every single day inside the warehouse training with Medea, while Medusa and Amunet handled the business outside.
His original three hundred and fifty thousand had already bloomed into a million dollars after the laundering process began.
Medusa made sure every single shipment was well protected.
Money continued to roll in steadily.
The operation alone brought in around five million dollars every month.
When cut down to its purest form, Alex was gaining around five hundred thousand a month.
Not only that, he had already made it clear his plan to go legit.
He had bribed many of Central City’s officials in an attempt to start the first weapons dealing company in the city.
All that was left was one person ….
the Mayor.
His training was going absolutely well too.
The plan was simple: exhaust all his magic every single day to the point of breaking, then let it regenerate.
This steadily increased his capacity.
The control side came from managing his outputs, sending each of his Servants the appropriate amounts accurately every time.
Speaking of his girls, Alex was having sex with the two of them almost every day.
He kept Medusa at her strongest so she could face any threats, and Medea as well….after all, she was his teacher and needed to be at her prime.
Medea was a fun one for Alex.
She loved sex quite a bit.
She got excited each time he summoned her to his chambers, servicing him as much as she could.
She had talked about herself quite a bit…
how she never had someone that cared for her, and how she had always been treated unfairly.
Alex didn’t know who this ‘Jason’ she hated so much was, but if he were to summon him, he’d torture the man quite a bit before killing him.
…
“Master,” Amunet said as Alex entered the office.
She bowed down gracefully and stepped aside, letting him sit at the desk.
She then slid three files in front of him.
“The company has already been established,” she spoke, opening the first file.
“David Singh, the head of Central City Police Department, is already eager.
He knows that Central City is now filled with meta-humans and wants to open an anti-meta task force branch of the police department.
We promised to supply him with legit weaponry to start that.”
She then opened the next file.
“Congressman Graves is also in on it.
A few bribes and he’s promised to get the ATF and DOD out of the way.
They won’t hinder our operation at all.”
She opened the final file.
“This is Mayor Gregory Wolfe.
He’s a hardass who hates even the Flash.
A former Belle Reve warden.
There are rumors of him abusing meta-humans inside the prison, but nothing substantial.
He is our problem….”
Alex read the file quietly and then said, “Why don’t I just mind control him?”
Medea, who was present with him, spoke up.
“Master, males are a problem to mind control.
The hypnotization eye you have can function on a weak male, but a man who thinks he’s above the law will almost be impossible to mind control.”
Alex sighed.
“Then what can we do… Hmm… Anyone with power must have some sort of dirt on him.
Let’s find it… Shall we?”
Alex opened his laptop and went on a long hacking spree…
CCTV footage of the prison, the Mayor’s schedule, and many other things.
But there was zero evidence.
Any file he found on the Mayor was mostly redacted.
The footage showed no wrongdoings….
likely deleted.
But… he did notice something odd.
“What is this…” Alex said, smiling.
“Did you find anything, Master?” Amunet asked.
“Maybe… The Mayor’s schedule is completely organized and pristine… But… on the seventeenth of each month… there is a two-hour window deleted for some reason.
Like he’s doing something he wants no one to know… Let’s investigate that… Shall we?” Alex spoke, then looked at the date.
“We’re on the thirteenth… That means we have four days.
Medusa, tail him every day.
Gather info on his details and his people, and prepare for when we track him on the seventeenth.
I wanna see what this old man is hiding.”
“Yes, Master,” Medusa replied.
Alex smiled, clearly excited to find out what Gregory Wolfe was hiding.
“Politicians… They don’t change in any world…”
