Alex sat at the small desk in the hotel room, laptop screen casting a cold glow across his face.

His fingers moved with the precision of a man who had once cracked government firewalls for fun and profit.

Using old skills and a few freshly purchased darkweb tools, he slipped into the underbelly of Central City’s digital landscape, hunting for information on local crime lords.Full novel: Fate/DC Universe: The Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The reason was simple: the unaccounted 350K that Medusa had taken from the bank vault.

The fifty thousand the gods had provided could be explained away as proceeds from a sold business—his fake background supported it.

But the extra 350K?

Touching that without proper laundering would bring the IRS down on him, and in this world the IRS might as well be an enemy on Superman’s level.

As he dug deeper, one fact stood out sharply.

Central City had almost no major crime lords.

Gotham, Keystone, Star City—those places were crawling with established players.

Central City?

Practically clean.

It proved just how efficient and terrifyingly strong the Flash truly was.

Alex had already run dozens of mental simulations on how to handle the speedster.

Every single one ended in failure before it could even begin—whether he had Medusa with him or not.

He kept working.

Eventually, a name surfaced.

Someone he could manipulate.

Someone he could control and use.

“Looks like someone is bad at hiding his digital fingerprint…” Alex muttered.

“Medusa.”

She materialized instantly, kneeling before him without a sound.

“Yes, Master…”

“We have somewhere we need to be.

Come.”

…

Central City wasn’t famous for its nightlife, but it still had its corners where people chased oblivion until dawn.

Nocturne was one of them….a classy, slightly artistic nightclub with a darker, seductive undertone.

Alex’s target was inside.

He walked in with Medusa at his side.

She wore a simple but elegant purple dress with a deep V-line in the back, making her look like any other club-goer.

Alex had chosen a sharp black blazer over a dark shirt…expensive enough to fit in, forgettable enough to disappear.

He ignored the pulsing dance floor where drunk men and women moved against each other.

Instead, he headed straight for the VIP lounge.

The entrance was heavily guarded.

Multiple bodyguards, weapons concealed but their posture screaming that this was no ordinary nightclub.

Alex approached one of them and leaned in close, voice low.

“I’m here for the Blacksmith.

I’m Zero.”

The bodyguard stared at him for a second, then nodded and slipped inside.

A short while later he returned.

“The Blacksmith is waiting for you.

Follow me.”

They moved through the VIP lounge and up another flight of stairs to a private area clearly off-limits to regular patrons.

The bodyguard opened the heavy door and gave a final warning.

“You may walk in… Just so you know, the Blacksmith doesn’t need our help for protection.

One mistake and she’ll blast your head off.

So watch your tone.

Do your business and walk away.

Don’t act stupid.”

Alex gave the man a flat side glance and sighed softly before stepping inside, Medusa close behind.

Amunet Black—known in certain circles as the Blacksmith—lounged at the center of a wide leather booth like she owned the entire night.

Her short, sleek black hair framed a face full of sharp confidence.

Dark eyes half-lidded in lazy pleasure.

The plunging metallic corset she wore was barely fastened, the deep V-neckline pulled open just enough to bare the soft inner curves of her full breasts.

The high slits of her short wrap skirt had fallen completely aside, revealing smooth thighs and the fact that she wore nothing underneath.

One of the two girls knelt between her legs, face buried obediently in her lap, moving with slow, devoted rhythm.

Amunet’s left hand rested possessively on the back of the girl’s head, guiding her pace with casual authority, while her right hand idly caressed the bare breast of the second girl curled against her side.

A low, satisfied hum escaped her lips as she tilted her head back for a moment, the metallic sheen of her skin catching the dim red lights.

She didn’t startle.

She didn’t cover herself.

Instead, she lifted her gaze to the newcomers with a slow, predatory smile, fingers still tangled in soft hair.

“Close the door behind you,” she said, voice smooth and commanding, thick with pleasure.

“Unless you’d like to watch… or join.”

“No thanks… I’m here for business…” Alex said, his eyes flicking down to the two girls still attending to Amunet.

Amunet sighed, the sound thick with annoyance and lingering pleasure.

“Girls… Let me deal with this business.

Then we can continue.”

The girl between her legs pulled back, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand before moving to sit beside her.

The second girl also pulled away.

Both remained quiet, eyes downcast.

Amunet kept her legs spread wide, her clean-shaven, still-wet pussy on full display toward Alex.

She made no move to close them, clearly testing him.

Alex didn’t react.

Not even a flicker.

Seeing his complete lack of response, Amunet grinned.

“So… Zero… I heard you have a great business opportunity for me.

A special investment of sorts, yeah?

My analyst said your profile showed a lot of promise.”

“Indeed… it must have shown something like that,” Alex replied, crossing his legs casually.

“But… that was mostly a lie.”

“Excuse me?” Amunet’s voice sharpened.

“Well… You see, I’m not really a weapons dealer as I claimed in my profile.

Those years of experience and money were all fake.

I merely had to hack some of your people to implement that.

It was quite an easy task, to say the least.

You need better people working for you.”

“What the fuck are you getting at?

If you think I won’t fucking kill you where you stand, then you must be fucking stupid.”

“Underground Star Lab 34.

Old Sugar Factory in the city outskirts.

The abandoned building on Block 4, Cornew Street.

And I can name many more places where you operate your very illegal business of weapon dealing and meta-human trafficking.

I can link each and every single one of them to you…”

Amunet leaned forward, finally closing her legs as realization hit.

“The fuck are you trying to say, you little shit?

Are you trying to blackmail me?”

“Maybe… All depends on you.

One wrong move and these files will be public… How long do you think it would take for the Flash to shut down all your operations in his city and have you behind bars?

Five?

Ten seconds?

Are you willing to risk that?”

“What makes you think I’ll let you do that?

Huh?

You think I can’t fucking kill you where you stand?” Amunet’s hand shifted, biomechanical parts clicking as it transformed into a glowing beam cannon aimed directly at Alex’s head.

Alex grinned, seeing her meta-human power in action for the first time.

She could fuse weapons and inorganic material into her own body.

That was what made her special.

He stood up slowly, completely unconcerned about the cannon pointed at him.

Medusa was right there.

It would take her less than an instant to block the blast and remove Amunet’s head.

After all his research, Alex knew Medusa was far more powerful than most meta-humans in this city.

Only the Flash and a handful of truly monstrous beings could stand against her.

He walked straight toward Amunet, spread her legs apart again with his foot, and planted his shoe on the couch between her thighs….his foot stopping mere inches from her exposed pussy.

Then he reached down, gripped her chin, and tilted her face up to meet his eyes.

“Love… If I could hack into all your information in seconds, do you really think I wouldn’t have countermeasures to threats such as my death?

Not only will my associate over there kill you and everyone that serves you before you can even shoot… all your info would be released at the same time…”

He leaned in slightly.

“But… I’m not an enemy.

That’s for sure.

You see, love… I am someone who’s worried about the Flash as much as you are.

But unlike you, I am extremely confident in my ability to dodge him.

Are you?”

Amunet stared up at him in pure anger, mind racing.

Even if she didn’t fully believe he could survive her shot, the risk of her entire network being exposed was too high.

She was trapped.

“Fuck…” she hissed through clenched teeth.

Alex grinned and raised his hand, gently caressing her cheek.

“Oh… Don’t worry, love.

I’m not here to end you or your operation.

In fact… quite the opposite.

You see, I like you, Amunet.

You’ve managed to do something very bold….running an operation like this in Central City and staying hidden from the Flash.

That is quite the achievement.

What I want to do is expand your operation.

Make you truly powerful.

Make your operation boom…”

“In exchange for what?” she asked, suspicion heavy in her voice.

“Well… partnership, of course.

I’m not so evil or foolish as to dominate someone else’s business and steal it from them.

That will only make you more determined to betray me.

Instead, I seek a 50% split of the business between me and you.

We’ll share this operation.

And to sweeten the deal, I won’t get paid at all until I’ve doubled your revenue.

Quite literally making it so that you lose nothing… You only gain.”

Amunet stayed silent, processing.

If he actually delivered on that, she really would lose nothing.

She had taken business partners before.

She could handle sharing power.

“I still don’t see where the catch is… There’s more to it… Isn’t there?” she said.

“Indeed… there is a catch.

It’s simple.

Serve me.”

“What?

All that speech about partnership and not wanting to dominate me was a fucking joke then?

Huh?

You fucking with me right now?”

“Oh no… NO.

I did not lie about that.

We will be partners… in your operation, that is.

But I have other ambitions.

Other operations.

Other plans.

If you think you’re powerful now… serving under me… Oh… you’re not ready for how much more powerful you shall be.

You’ll thank me… for being your Master.”

Alex slid his finger slowly across her lower lip, then turned and began walking away.

“Of course… This is all up to you.

Sleep on it for today.

Tomorrow I’ll visit again… And I’ll hear your answer.”

As he continued toward the door, rage boiled over in Amunet.

She stood up sharply and raised her arm to blast him.

In that exact instant, Medusa removed her eyecover.

Her Mystic Eyes of Petrification activated.

Amunet froze…literally.

Unable to move, unable to breathe, unable to even blink.

Deep down, terror surged through her.

She had never felt anything like this before.

She was begging inside her own mind.

Alex turned his head slightly and smiled.

“Medusa… Release our friend.

I think she now knows what we’re capable of.

Right?”

The petrification lifted.

Amunet gasped desperately for air and collapsed to her knees.

The two girls beside her also dropped, realizing they had been frozen as well.

She watched helplessly as Alex and Medusa walked out of the private lounge without another word.
