Xue Hu smiled with a lecherous grin.
He had never met a woman who wasn’t afraid upon hearing his uncle’s name.
“Liu Guangyao?”
Su Die repeated the name.
“That’s right. I, Xue Hu, am his direct nephew. People who want to curry favor with me could circle the entire county twice. Stick with me, and you won’t suffer losses.”
Xue Hu was telling the truth. Ever since Liu Guangyao became the director of the Cabinet Committee, there had been a constant flow of fine food, drinks, women, and money it was no different from the local tyrants of the past.
Who in this era would dare provoke people like that?
Su Die suddenly realized she had almost forgotten such people still existed.
If the capital city was in chaos, the borderlands were hardly safe either.
Su Die sneered:

The recorder had been a gift from Grandpa Ge; Su Die had stashed it in her space and never expected it would come in handy.
“Old Qi, don’t let this girl go! I’ll crush her with my own hands!”
Xue Hu’s face had turned green; his groin was in unbearable pain, nearly unconscious.
Yang Xiong approached Su Die: “Comrade Su, I’ll escort you out.”
“Yang Xiong, you really want to go against me?”
Chief Qi squinted his eyes into narrow slits, fists clenched.
Yang Xiong snorted coldly: “Chief Qi, justice cannot be hidden by darkness forever—you should understand that better than me.”

The recording had started from the moment Xue Hu blocked her on the street.
A hint of surprise appeared in Yang Xiong’s eyes.

Chief Qi glared at the three standing silently.

In the tense moment, someone pushed open the door.
Zheng Hongwei, wearing a white shirt and black pants, face stern, said:
“What are you doing?”
“Deputy Director Zheng, you’re here?”
Chief Qi gave Xue Hu a look; Xue Hu turned his head reluctantly.
“I happened to be passing by and came to check aren’t you welcoming me?”
Chief Qi stammered: “N-no, of course…”
“Still haven’t answered me what are you doing?” Zheng Hongwei frowned.
“Ah, just a small misunderstanding, nothing serious, right, Yang Xiong?”
Chief Qi tried to cover up, but Yang Xiong wouldn’t play along.
“Deputy Director Zheng, Xue Hu and his companions attempted to molest Comrade Su. We were just discussing the case.”

Zheng Hongwei picked up the statement and read carefully.
Su Die blinked, ready to slip away.
