Chapter 1: Awakening?

Femboy: I will be the greatest mage!

The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains of my small apartment window, casting a warm, golden glow across the room. It was a peaceful morning in the capital, the kind that made you forget the dangers of the world outside. But as I sat up in my bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, that peace was immediately shattered by the familiar frustration staring back at me from the full-length mirror across the room.

Let me back up. My name is… well, it was a very ordinary male name in a very ordinary world where magic didn't exist. I was just a regular guy making a living, paying bills, and trying to get by. Then came the cliché of all clichés: the bastard Truck-kun. I remember the screech of tires, the blinding headlights, and then, nothing.

When I opened my eyes again, I wasn't in a hospital. I had reincarnated into a fantasy world, a realm of elves, magic, and ancient kingdoms. At first, I was ecstatic. I was born into the Erhtheas Kingdom, a vast and majestic realm ruled by various elf tribes, each with their own unique cultures and traditions. From the high-wood Sylvan elves to the cave-dwelling Dark elves, the kingdom was a tapestry of magical potential.

I was reborn as an elf in a backwater village nestled deep within the forest. As I grew up, I realized I had a massive advantage: my adult mind. While the other children were learning to count, I was already dissecting the theoretical underpinnings of mana circulation. I worked harder than anyone my age, mastering the theory of magic with a fervor that shocked my parents and teachers. By the time I was a teenager, I was hailed as a prodigy, the village's greatest hope.

That hope got me a ticket to the capital. Luminara, the City of Eternal Light, was the heart of Erhtheas. It was a sprawling metropolis where the spires of the Magic Tower pierced the clouds, and the streets hummed with the energy of a thousand spells.

But as I stood before the mirror this morning, looking at my reflection, I couldn't help but sigh.

"Another day, another existential crisis," I muttered to myself, my voice soft and melodic, another trait that grated on my nerves.

I stared at the figure in the mirror. I was 130 centimeters tall, a height that was considered diminutive even for an elf. My skin was pale and flawless, with soft, delicate features that made me look perpetually youthful. But the most striking feature was my hair and eyes, a vibrant, cotton-candy pink that seemed to glow in the morning light. My long hair cascaded down my back like a silk waterfall, and my eyes were large and doe-like.

To anyone else, I looked like the epitome of feminine beauty. A cute, petite elf girl.

But the reality was far more complicated.

I turned to the side, examining my profile. I was wearing a simple nightgown, but it couldn't hide the contours of my body. I had small, perky breasts that strained against the fabric, and hips that curved gently but noticeably. I looked like a girl. I sounded like a girl. I even smelled like a girl.

But I wasn't a girl. And I wasn't a guy either.

In this world, biology was a little different. There were three recognized genders: male, female, and futa (hermaphrodites). But I… I didn't fit neatly into any of those boxes.

I pulled up my nightgown and looked down, a flush of heat rising to my cheeks. I possessed both sets of genitalia, a penis and a vagina, just like a futa. But unlike a futa, my body was hyper-feminine. My waist was tiny and my skin was soft. There was no masculine muscle mass to speak of. And the most damning detail? According to the biology of this world, I could become pregnant.

I let the fabric drop, covering myself up as I stared into the mirror with a mix of resignation and annoyance.

"I have a dick and a pussy, but the body is super feminine," I grumbled. It was a confusing existence. The system in this world, which everyone was born with, categorized me as such. It was a label that stuck, even if I didn't feel entirely like a woman.

I shook my head, trying to dispel the morning gloom. Today was a big day. I couldn't waste it sulking.

I moved to my wardrobe and began to dress. I had long since given up on trying to look masculine; it was impossible. Instead, I had embraced the aesthetic that came naturally to my body. I pulled on a pair of white lace panties, followed by sheer black stockings that hugged my slender legs. Next came a matching bra, necessary for the small but noticeable breasts I possessed, before I slipped into a pleated skirt and a frilly, pastel pink top.

I adjusted the hem of the skirt, checking myself out in the mirror one last time. The outfit was undeniably cute, accentuating my small frame and feminine features. My elf ears, long and pointed, twitched cutely as I turned my head, catching the light.

"Good enough," I nodded, grabbing my satchel and heading for the door.

My hotel was strategically located near the Magic Tower, making my commute short. As I stepped out into the streets of Luminara, the city was already bustling. Elves of all tribes moved through the cobblestone streets, their voices a melodic hum of conversation. Carriages drawn by magical beasts clattered by, and the air smelled of ozone and blooming moonflowers.

I kept my head down, walking briskly. Even though I was used to the stares, it was still overwhelming. As I walked, I could hear the whispers.

"Look at her, she's so cute!"

"Is that a first-year student?"

"No, look at her curves… she's definitely a student. And so cute!"

I felt my cheeks heat up, a blush spreading across my face. My ears twitched again, picking up every word. I quickened my pace, my heart pounding in my chest. I just wanted to get inside the tower without incident.

Finally, the Magic Tower loomed before me. It was an architectural marvel, a spiraling structure of white stone and enchanted glass that stretched impossibly high into the sky, disappearing into the clouds. This was the center of magical learning in the kingdom, and today, I was finally going to step inside as a true mage.

I presented my identification at the massive oak doors, which were carved with intricate runes. The guard, a burly male elf, looked down at me, his eyes widening slightly as he took in my appearance.

"Name?" he asked, his voice gruff but polite.

"Bell," I replied, my voice soft. "Bell Ashford. I'm a new transfer student."

The guard checked his ledger and nodded, stepping aside. "Welcome to the Tower of Ellasera, Miss Bell. Your room is on the second floor, sector C."

"Thank you," I murmured, slipping past him and into the grand foyer.

The interior of the tower was even more impressive than the outside. The foyer was a massive circular chamber with a floor made of polished marble that reflected the light from a crystalline chandelier floating high above. Staircases spiraled upward along the curved walls, and doorways led to various lecture halls and laboratories.

As I entered, the ambient noise of the foyer seemed to dip for a moment. I felt dozens of eyes turn toward me. My skin prickled with self-consciousness. I kept my gaze fixed on the floor, my hands clutching the straps of my satchel.

"Is that… a new student?"

"Hey, she's kinda cute. Do you think she's a futa?"

"No way! She has no muscles! Definitely a female!"

I bit my lip, ignoring the whispers as best I could. I navigated the room, looking for the directory that would point me toward sector C. I found it near the center of the room, a floating magical display.

Sector C: First-Year Mage Quarters.

I followed the signs down a long corridor, the noise of the foyer fading behind me. My mind began to wander, drifting back to the reality of my situation. In this world, magic was everything. But until today, I had never actually cast a spell.

In Erhtheas, it was illegal to use magic before adulthood, defined as the age of physical maturity, which for elves was around twenty years. I was now twenty, which was the equivalent of my age when I died in my previous life. It was a strange coincidence, but I was grateful. I had spent years studying theory, sensing the flow of mana, but I had never been allowed to channel it.

Today is the day, I thought, a spark of excitement cutting through my anxiety. I'm finally going to cast a real spell.

I found my room at the end of the hall, Room 204. I unlocked the door and stepped inside. It was a modest space: a bed, a desk, a wardrobe, and a window overlooking the city. I dropped my satchel on the bed and took a deep breath.

"Okay, Bell. Focus," I whispered to myself.

I sat on the edge of the bed and closed my eyes. I reached out with my senses, feeling the mana in the air. It was everywhere, a vibrant, humming energy that permeated the tower. I could feel it swirling around me, waiting to be commanded.

Suddenly, a soft chime echoed in my mind, and a translucent blue window materialized in front of my closed eyes. I opened them to see the familiar interface of the system, something every inhabitant of this world was born with.

It was said that the god of this world, Aetherius, had blessed every living being with this gift to help them understand their potential. I wasn't entirely sure I believed in a god, but the system was undeniably real.

I stared at the screen, reading the stats that defined my existence in this world.

I stared at the numbers, a familiar mix of pride and disappointment washing over me.

My Intelligence and Wisdom stats were incredibly high, a testament to the years I spent studying in my previous life and this one. My Charisma was off the charts, which explained why I couldn't walk down the street without being stared at. But everything else… it was pitiful.

Strength: 3. Agility: 4. Stamina: 2.

I was physically weak. Pathetically so. Even among elves, who were naturally graceful, I was fragile. My Magic Power was only 10, which was barely enough to light a candle, let alone cast a fireball.

"Great," I muttered, closing the window with a wave of my hand. "I'm a glass cannon with no cannon."

I stood up and walked to the window, looking out over the sprawling city of Luminara. The spires of the tower cast long shadows over the rooftops. Despite my low physical stats, I felt a surge of determination.

"Stats can be trained," I said aloud, my voice firm. "I have the knowledge. I have the theory. Now, I just need the practice."

I turned back toward the center of the room and raised my hands. I focused on the mana swirling around me, visualizing it as a stream of blue light. I channeled it through my body, feeling the familiar tingle in my fingertips.

"Okay," I whispered. "Let's start with the basics."

I extended my index finger and focused my will.

"Ignis," I chanted, the ancient word for fire.

A small spark flickered at the tip of my finger. It wavered, struggling to hold its form, before finally bursting into a tiny flame no larger than a candle's wick. It danced there, casting a warm orange glow on my pale skin.

I stared at the flame, my pink eyes reflecting the light. It was small, barely enough to warm a cup of tea, but it was real. It was magic that I had cast.

A grin spread across my face, breaking through my earlier frustration.

"I did it," I breathed, the excitement bubbling up inside me. "I actually did it."

I waved my hand, extinguishing the flame and plunging the room back into the soft morning light. I sat back down on the bed, my heart racing. The system window popped up again, a notification flashing in the corner of my vision.

[ Skill 'Basic Fire Magic' has been unlocked! ]

[ Mana has decreased by 1. Current MP: 9/10 ]

"Only one point of mana used," I noted, analyzing the data. "Efficiency is high due to my intelligence, but my pool is tiny."

I looked at the door, knowing that soon I would have to attend orientation with the other students. The thought of navigating the social dynamics of the tower was daunting, especially with my appearance. But as I looked at my stats, high intelligence, high charisma, low everything else, I realized something.

I might look like a cute, helpless girl, and physically, I might be weak. But I had an adult mind, a wealth of knowledge from two lifetimes, and the potential to master magic in ways no one else could.

I stood up, smoothed down my skirt, and adjusted my top. My elf ears twitched, catching the sound of footsteps in the hallway as other students began to move about.

"Alright, world," I said, my voice soft but resolute. "You might have given me a confusing body and low stats, but you can't stop me from becoming a great mage."

I opened the door and stepped out into the hallway, ready to face whatever this world threw at me.
