The system notification echoed in Julian’s mind as he laid down on his bed, preparing to go to sleep.

“I’m grateful for the rewards,” he said, sitting upright.Full novel: Football Legend in Another World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“But why are you always sending these through at the least appropriate times?”

[Stop complaining, bro. Do you know how many people there are who wish to be in your position right now?]

“You’re right.”

After a small moment of deliberation, Julian could see that he was acting like a little kid.

He turned his attention to the status window that appeared in front of him.

********

{Mission Complete!!

Mission: Put on a stellar performance

Objective: Put on a amazing performance and show to everyone that you’re not just a wealthy young Master throwing around his weight.

Reward: +15 points + 1 Fitness Recovery Potion

Bonus Reward: +5 points to Pace + New Skill}

********

“Let’s open the bonus reward first.” Julian said after a thorough read.

“It should bring my pace up to 80 points now.”

{Bonus Reward Granted.

+5 points to Pace

+New Skill: Turbo Boost(B)}

“Show me the skill description.”

{Turbo Boost: Pace Increases by 10% for two seconds when you accelerate.}

“Wow.” Julian was amazed by the skill.

“This will bring my speed to 88 for that brief few seconds. There’s no way in hell 16 year olds would be able to catch up to me.”

{Reward Granted:

+15 points

+1 Fitness Recovery Potion.}

“I guess the fifteen points are free to use and the Potion is pretty self-explanatory. I should refrain from using it where people could see me. They might think I’m taking enhancement substances.”

“Status.”

Julian called out his stats to get a better understanding of them before making the changes.

He stopped when a idea came up.

“Mini-ball, my Vision attribute is at 95, what would happen if it went to a hundred?”

[First of all, your stats can only go to 99 and when that happens, you will either gain a new skill, or your vision related skills will get absorbed into a higher quality skill.]

“And why can’t it go to hundred?”

[Because hundred means perfect, and nothing can be perfect.] The ball informed, continuing.

[Let’s say your Crossing attribute is at a 100, right? And you cross the ball to your teammate, but the opposition defender beats your teammate in the aerial duel, and usually that would mean he would get to the ball first and head it out. But because your crossing is perfect, there’s no way you could miss or be off target. So some crazy shit would happen: either the ball will change direction mid flight, or it would teleport onto your teammate’s head.]

“Yeah, no.” Julian shook his head.

“That is some crazy shit. Let’s put the Vision attribute off for now, I’ll increase it at a later date.”

Julian sat in thought for a couple of seconds, thinking where to spend all his points.

Adding all those points to a single attribute was a option, but he didn’t like that.

“Alright.” He said after making his decision.

“Make Passing, Attacking, Crossing and Technique go up to 70 and then add the remaining to points to Finishing.”

{Status Updated}

Julian could feel the subtle changes in his body, feeling as if a cooling liquid spread throughout his internals.

“Status.”

“Good.” He nodded in satisfaction.

“This brings my rating up to 70. I wonder what the average rating of 16 year olds is.”

[That I don’t know.]

“I know you don’t know, Mini-ball.” Julian slid under the covers.

“I wasn’t asking you.”

[Yeah, yeah.] The ball rolled his eyes, a small smirk on his face.

[Good night, idiot.]

“Good night, my friend.”

The cafeteria of the Ashton Imperial Academy was bustling with activity, as thousands of children filled it to buy their meals.

A long string of children stood in neat rows as they awaited their turn to purchase food, while others already started filling seats, ready with their food, or perhaps waiting on their friends to bring their order with them.

Most of these children were nobles who got privileged treatment over commoners, with them being served first, or some not even having to pay.

Some nobles like Julian, who was seated alone on a bench, calmly eating his food, black hair falling forward over his face as he leaned down to bite into a steak.

All around him he could hear conversations, whispers.

Some he tuned out, some he paid extra attention to, especially those talking about what a spectacle he put on the past Saturday.

It was Monday now, meaning back to school after their day off on Sunday, and Julian’s performance was still on many mouths.

He would be lying if he said he didn’t like the attention.

“Yo, Julian.”

A loud voice called out to Julian just as he was about to take another bite of the steak, fork pausing halfway to his mouth.

He turned around to see Austin walking towards him with a wide grin, the sun that filtered through the windows fell on his caramel skin. The source of this chapter is g.com.

‘Uggh, not this loudmouth.’ Julian could already feel the headache coming.

Next to Austin, just slightly behind, was Nolan, walking behind his enthusiastic friend with a bored expression.

Austin sat down directly in front of Julian, placing his tray on the table dividing them, while Nolan took the seat next to his friend.

“How are you doing, man?” Austin asked, before taking a bite of his fried chicken.

‘Stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason.’

“Great and you?”

Julian didn’t have a problem with Austin, it’s just that the boy was a little too loud for his tastes, but that didn’t mean that Julian would be a dick about it.

After all, they were still teammates.

“Great.” Austin said, before pointing to his friend.

“This is Nolan, by the way.”

“‘Sup.” Julian said with a not of his head.

Nolan lifted his head, returned the nod, and dove back into his food.

“Don’t mind him, he’s just shy. He’s a real talker once you get to know him.” Austin quickly added.

“No worries.”

Julian took another bite of his steak, silently praying that the conversation would end and that Austin and Nolan would leave.

It didn’t.

Instead:

“Yo, guys.”

“‘Sup.”

Martin and Danny pulled up, both of them holding their trays and plopping down on the empty seats as if them sitting there was a given.

“Hey.”

Julian and Austin greeted in unison, while Nolan just nodded and went back to his food.

‘What is this?

Main cast gathering?’

It certainly felt like that to Julian.

I mean, all of them were handsome and each had a personality that could make them a main character in their own novels, but his eyes widened slightly when he realized something.

‘There is no girls.’

There was no girls around them, just five boys sharing a table.

That usually meant one thing:

‘Did I transmigrate into a reverse harem novel?

Are we going to fall for the same girl and fight over her?’

His eyes widened more when another possibility entered his mind.

‘What if it’s a BL novel?!

Oh, hell no.

I need to get the fuck out of here right now!!’

[You’re exaggerating, bro.]

‘Shut up, you.

You would like it if this was a BL novel, wouldn’t you?’

[What the fuck does tha–]

Mini-ball didn’t get to finish his words as Austin spoke up.

“You guys should give me your number so that I can make a group chat.”
