I would have never guessed
That while traveling on this quest
I call life,
That I would meet someone like you.
You rocked my chest
Beneath my vest…
When she said;
“Hace mucho frío.”
I just said;
“Yes…”
I had to stop and find a translation,
I couldn’t fail her test…
Little did I know,
But later, suddenly,
I’d come to find,
She spoke not a word of English,
Part of me still doesn’t mind.
With her body
On my body
I am sure we will do fine.
We have universal languages
All laced within our spines.
She said;
“Let me celebrate you and your life.”
And, fuck it,
I just melted…
I don’t know just how she did it,
But I know,
She knows
I felt it…
All the energy
She’s sending me,
My defenses were pelted…
My utility feels useless.
I felt naked.
Left unbelted.
I have seen her nearly every day
For nearly
Almost
A year.
And I had been too shy to tell her
That she erases my fear.
From a distance
I should listen,
The universe has brought us here.
Let me wash away that loneliness,
My love can be your pier.
I’m trying not to be too optimistic
With the idea of us,
But if you feel it
Like I feel it,
The I feel
That it’s a must.
Let’s just build it
Like some children
With some Lego
With no lust.
Let me feel
All that you have to offer
Outside of your touch.
When she handed me that letter,
Man…
I felt just like a teen again.
A knight fending off dragons
From a wagon
For a Queen again.
On scene again.
Like Don Quixote,
I could just be me again.
I hope that this is real,
That we can feel,
And just be free again.
I’ve seen her nearly every day,
And I hardly said a word…
Maybe I
Was dodging blessings.
Maybe her
Heart went unheard….
Maybe I
Was just a coward.
Maybe she
Was just a bird…
Maybe we
Have found each other
At the right time
On the verge…
For some reason
When she whispers to my heart
It doesn’t hurt.
I can feel that she is genuine,
Her love can do the work.
I just hope that I am good enough,
I hope she sees my worth…
I’ve been waiting for someone
To tend the flowers in this dirt.
