When Light refused to travel together, Frank only showed a trace of regret.

It had been nothing more than a casual suggestion.

“In that case, I wish you good luck,” Frank said, patting Light on the shoulder.Full novel: From One Piece, To Becoming the Strongest Shinigami — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He straightened his coat and prepared to leave, his movements relaxed and practiced.

However, before he could take a step, his body stiffened.

Light’s firm hand pressed down on his shoulder.

“Wait,” Light said, his voice steady.

“There is one more thing I need your help with.”

“Something that probably won’t make me any money,” Frank muttered, about to complain further.

“Get me a gun,” Light cut in.

Frank blinked in confusion.

“You came to me for something so simple?

Don’t you already have a few guns?”

“Not the usual kind.

I want something more brutal,” Light replied, pulling a pistol from his waist and placing it on the table.

The technological level of this world was not low.

In some aspects, it even surpassed what Light remembered from his previous life.

This chaotic western district was already advanced enough, and he had heard that the central regions of the Empire possessed even more sophisticated technology, though he had never seen it himself.

With such a foundation, firearms were naturally widespread.

As a member of a violent gang on Sphinx Street, Light had easy access to standard weapons.

The pistol he set on the table was a common Western Advance model, reliable but nothing special.

Frank glanced at it, then looked back at Light.

“I can get something better, but can you afford it?”

Light smiled faintly.

“I will sell my house to you.

The money does not need to pass through me.

I only want the weapon.

Is that acceptable?”

Frank’s eyes lit up immediately.

“So you really are planning to leave.

To be honest, I sold my own house two days ago, so I know the process.

Yours is in a better location, it should be worth quite a bit.”

He stopped short of naming a price, since Light had made it clear he only cared about the weapon.

“Wait here,” Frank said.

“I actually have something on hand.

I promised it to another buyer, but I am leaving anyway, so it does not matter who gets it.”

He disappeared through the door behind the bar.

Frank struggled out, dragging a heavy iron box with both hands.

“Give me a hand,” he called.

Light stepped forward, grabbed the box, and lifted it onto the table with ease.

Frank wiped sweat from his forehead and forced a smile.

“You are still as strong as ever.”

“Or you are just too weak,” Light replied indifferently.

Frank ignored the jab and quickly opened the box.

“I cannot get automatic rifles with my connections, but I doubt that is what you need anyway.”

Light’s attention was already fixed on the weapon inside.

“A Hand Cannon?” he asked, surprised.

“That is right,” Frank said proudly.

“My body cannot handle it.

The recoil alone would break me.

But for you, it is perfect.”

He patted Light’s arm before continuing, “This is the standard sidearm of a lieutenant from the Chatal Legion, the Angry Bull VI.”

The Chatal Legion was one of the Empire’s most formidable forces, composed almost entirely of physically enhanced ability users.

Its members were known for overwhelming strength, earning it the nickname Muscle Legion among common people.

Their weapons reflected that reputation.

Light lifted the Hand Cannon from the box and tested its weight.

Without hesitation, he raised it and pointed it at Frank’s head.

The massive muzzle nearly covered his entire face.

“Do not point that at me,” Frank said quickly, pushing it aside.

“Even unloaded, it is terrifying.”

The weapon was beautifully crafted.

Its indigo body gleamed faintly, and the image of a charging bull was engraved along the barrel.

Light’s gaze shifted to the ammunition.

Each bullet was nearly the size of a fist.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

He had originally considered acquiring something more advanced, perhaps an electromagnetic firearm, but this Hand Cannon suited him far better.

After testing the grip and balance, he stood up and took the ammunition belt from the box.

Twenty rounds hung from it.

He fastened it around his waist and secured the Hand Cannon in place.

The weight settled against him, heavy but reassuring.

If a wild beast stood in front of him now, he was confident a single shot would be enough.

“Bullets?” Light asked.

“That is all I have,” Frank replied.

Any decent workshop can make them.

Precision is not a concern.”

That was true.

Weapons like this relied on raw power, not finesse.

Light nodded, then reached into his coat and took out the property documents and deed to his house.

He handed them over without hesitation.

“This is where we part ways,” he said.

Frank accepted them with a grin.

“I will store these first.

After that, we can have a drink.”

He turned and went back through the door behind the bar.

When he returned, Light was already gone.

Frank stood there in silence for a moment before letting out a quiet sigh.

“I wonder if we will meet again, Light.”

Meanwhile, Light had already left the fighting gym.

After turning into a deserted alley, he stopped and focused.

He silently activated his ability.

As his stamina began to drain, the surrounding space froze.

A shimmering Interdimensional Gate formed before him, its surface rippling with multicolored light.

As he observed it, Light noticed something unusual.

Among the shifting colors, the blue glow seemed slightly dimmer than before.

When his attention lingered on the other colors, his stamina drained faster, as if another gate was trying to open.

“Different colors, different worlds?” he murmured.

There was no time to test the theory.

He pushed the door open and looked through.

On the other side was another empty alley.

Without hesitation, Light stepped through.

The moment he crossed over, he closed the gate behind him.

The shimmering doorway vanished, leaving no trace.

The air felt different.

This was the world of pirates.

Teach’s earlier words echoed in his mind.

Language would not be a problem here.

As for literacy, it was likely irrelevant in a place where strength ruled above all.

“The first step is to figure out where I am,” Light thought.

He could already hear distant voices, shouting and bargaining.

A marketplace, perhaps.

With steady steps, Light walked out of the alley and into the unknown.
