Adonis POV”Ughhh…” I groaned once I successfully slid inside Eris.

“Yes, Adonis, yes, just like that.” She moaned, holding onto my neck to steady herself.

Fuck me like you used to.”

I increased my pace, slamming into her as hard as I could.

I never once had a problem with how loud she moaned, but today her moans were getting on my nerves and messing up my thoughts.

I had stormed out of the training grounds after another embarrassing, failed attempt to shift to my wolf.

We’d managed to get me back into physical shape, but the real issue now was actually summoning my wolf.

I had so much pent-up energy and anger that I desperately needed to release.

Since overworking myself on the training field was no longer an option, I’d decided to just fuck the frustration out of my system.

“Faster, Adonis…” Eris gasped, arching her hips up to meet mine.

I shook my head, desperately trying to focus on the task at hand.

I was thrusting deep into her when Caspian’s smug face flashed in my mind out of nowhere.

“Fuck…” I cursed aloud, going completely limp inside her.

It has been like this lately.

Every single time I was with Eris, thoughts of Caspian would ruin it and kill the mood.

And whenever Caspian was actually around, I couldn’t stop obsessing over Thalia.

The endless cycle was driving me insane.

“There you go again, going limp,” Eris sighed, pushing me off her body.

“Are you sure Caspian’s spells aren’t having a negative effect on you?

Because you never used to have a problem making me finish.”

”This has absolutely nothing to do with Caspian.

His spells are the only reason I’m still breathing, Eris!” I snapped, my patience officially hitting zero.

“Why are you getting so defensive?

I was just asking a question, Adonis…”

She tried to touch my shoulder, but I pulled away from her hand like it was toxic.

“I’m tired and stressed thinking about shifting before the next full moon.

Forgive me if sex isn’t top priority right now.”

”But you were the one who came to me,” she argued, sitting up and pulling the sheet to her chest.

“You literally pulled me out of the kitchen and pressed yourself against me, remember?

And that was right after your usual medical session with Caspian.”

”So what are you implying?”

She stared at me for some time, clearly contemplating whether to say what’s on her mind or not.

“Nothing…” she finally sighed.

“All I’m trying to say is you’ve been pretty distant lately. This story is hosted at g.com.

And it’s not just in bed.”

”I have a lot of things to think about.

My life is literally hanging by a thread, Eris; let’s not forget that.” I moved to sit on the edge of the bed.

“I’m sorry if I can’t fuck you however you want right now—”

”This isn’t about the sex—”

”Then stop complaining about it,” I cut her off.

“Ever since Thalia ran away, you’ve been completely different.”

I rolled my eyes so hard my temples throbbed.

“Brilliant.

First Caspian, now Thalia.

Who else are we blaming today?”

”How else am I supposed to react when you refuse to talk to me?”

I was so tired of hearing the same thing over and over.

If she wasn’t nagging about me being distant, she was nagging about how I didn’t look at her the same way anymore.

This was the final straw for me.

“Have you considered that maybe you’re just being overbearing and insufferable?” The words rolled off my tongue before I could even stop myself.

Eris opened her mouth to speak, but no sound came out.

She just stared at me, stung into silence.

Later that evening, when Caspian came in to check my vitals, the tension was thick enough to choke on.

Every time he leaned in to inspect my progress, Eris practically glared holes through him.

Caspian, as usual, remained totally unbothered.

Whether he knew what she was doing or just pretended not to, he ignored her altogether.

I honestly admired his ability to do that.

“You should rest your legs; they’re starting to swell internally,” Caspian advised while massaging my calves.

“Are you taking the herbs I recommended?”

”The doctor said it would conflict with his Western medications…” Eris stepped in, eager to find a flaw in his treatment.

Caspian’s hand paused on my legs.

“But I specifically told you about the benefits of those herbs to his heart,” he frowned, his voice dropping.

“He’s doing okay, isn’t he?” Eris retorted.

“And you think that’s because of the doctor’s pills?” Caspian scoffed, looking up at her.

“Where were those miracle medications when Adonis was on the brink of death?”

”It’s Alpha Adonis to you,” Eris warned, her voice hardening.

“Enough!” I growled, my head pounding.

“Caspian’s treatment has been what has kept me alive for the longest.

If he says I need the herbs, I take the herbs.”

Eris huffed and crossed her arms, turning her back on us.

Maybe it was the drowsiness from the spells or fatigue, but I could have sworn I saw a grin on Caspian’s face.

Defeated, Eris eventually walked out of the room, leaving us alone.

“Eris told one of the guards to watch me closely…” Caspian mentioned casually, wiping his hands on a clean cloth.

“I’m not telling you this so you’ll warn her or anything. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

I’m just letting you know in case you’re wondering why she suddenly loses an eye or finds her lips magically sealed shut.”

I tried my best to keep a straight face and not laugh, but then he kept talking.

“Also… a few of the servants have been whispering,” he added softly.

“They mentioned your quarters have been unusually quiet at night.

Unlike before.” He paused, turning to face me.

“Are you experiencing… functional difficulties, Alpha Adonis?”

My threatening smile faded before it could even break free.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I snarled.

“Well, it’s normal for my spells to have some side effects,” he said smoothly.

“Some of which include loss of appetite, volatile mood swings, erectile dysfunction…” His hands squeezed my legs tighter each time he spoke.

“If you want, I can recommend more herbs to improve your…”

”Get out.” I barked at his face.

He offered a mocking smile and finally let go of my leg.

“I was only trying to help your situation, Alpha.”

”If I ever hear you speak of this again, I’ll cut off your fucking tongue,” I warned him, the threat burning in my throat.

The smile was still plastered on his face as he exited the room, looking too pleased with himself.

His words burned in my mind long after he left.

The fact that everyone was talking made my blood boil, but what humiliated me most was that Caspian knew.

Now, on top of being the Alpha who couldn’t shift, I was being branded as sexually impotent.

I punched through the wall, feeling anger surging through me.

“Neighboring territories are going to think I can’t handle my own kingdom!” I yelled, my knuckles throbbing.

“How can my whole life be falling apart before my very eyes and I can’t do a single thing about it?!”

”Adonis, please, calm down!” Eris rushed back into the room, reaching for me”First Thalia runs off with my wolf, then I’m crippled by this fucking affliction!” I shouted, pacing the floor.

“I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, and I can’t even have sex with my mate!”

”Adonis, stop!”

But it was already too late.

A searing pain exploded through my chest, so sharp it stole the breath from my lungs.

“Eris…” I gasped.

My knees buckled.

I clawed at my shirt, trying to stop the burning sensation spreading through my chest.

My heartbeat pounded wildly, then stumbled into a terrifying, uneven rhythm.

“Caspian!

Get Caspian now!” I could hear Eris screaming in the background.

The world tilted, my vision blurred, and the last thing I heard was the frantic shouting around me before darkness swallowed everything.
