. He took it toward the

. That’s ghost-space. No nav maps. No laws. Just pirates, warlords, and things that don’t stay dead."
Kairos nodded. "And that scares you?"
"It should scare you."
He left with coordinates and a lead—and a strange feeling in his chest. Something about that weapon... it pulled at him. The system fragment pulsed when it was mentioned. Was it connected?
Later – Aboard the Jade Vulture
Kairos studied the fragmented route through the Veltrax Expanse. Nira popped up behind him.

Kairos smiled. "I like high returns."

"Oh?"

Kairos raised a brow. "Illegal royal-grade trading?"
"Or a syndicate. Or a fallen noble house laundering tech. Or... a rogue sovereign."
Whatever it was, it screamed

Kairos stood up. "Plot the route to Veltrax. We’ll find the Thorn. And maybe... we start selling to warlords next."
