"I'm exhausted!"
In the room, Chen Lang wearily took off his helmet, sat up, and shook his head, feeling a bit dazed.
Nearly 12 hours, with only one bathroom break in between, he had hardly stopped killing monsters. It was truly exhausting.
After a moment, Chen Lang regained his senses, went to the bathroom to wash his face, and then picked up his phone to head downstairs for a meal.
At the entrance of the residential area.
Inside a dumpling shop, Chen Lang was wolfing down food while fiddling with his phone.
At one in the afternoon, Guan Suo had sent a message saying he finally reached level 3 and asked Chen Lang what level he was.
"Played all day, just reached level 7."
Chen Lang casually replied. Guan Suo was probably still in the game and didn't respond.
Chen Lang didn't say much more and opened the forum to browse.
There was all sorts of discussion inside, mostly cursing the Tianyan officials. No wonder, level 3 wild monsters already had skills, which really gave the players a hard time.
Unlike Chen Lang, most others only had one novice skill and couldn't interrupt the monsters' skills, which was indeed quite frustrating.
After browsing the forum for a while, just as Chen Lang was about to exit, a post caught his attention.
"Qinghai City Level Rankings."
It was a post published by the Tianyan officials of Qinghai City, and it was updated in real-time.
Chen Lang, curious, clicked on it. A hundred names were listed, and he was surprisingly ranked first.
"First place: Tianya Langzi, level 7"
"Second place: Tianxia, level 6"
"Third place: Linjia Xiaotong, level 6"
"Fourth place: Xiaoyao, level 6"
"Fifth place: Busi Jianshen, level 6"
"Sixth place: Zhinan Buwan, level 6"
"Seventh place: Yuluo Dengming, level 5"
"Eighth place: Mu Huaxi, level 5"
"Ninth place: Yijie Shusheng, level 5"
"Tenth place: Luo Xi, level 5"
Looking at the city rankings, Chen Lang was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected so many experts in just Qinghai City, with almost everyone in the top hundred being above level 5.
He knew he had an extra skill from the start, and with the bronze dagger crafted by the Old Blacksmith, he barely reached level 7.
However, Chen Lang wasn't too concerned. Why should only he have opportunities, and others not?
Obviously, that wasn't possible.
After finishing his meal, Chen Lang didn't head straight back upstairs but instead strolled to the park opposite the residential area and sat down on a row of stone benches.
There were quite a few elderly people cooling off in the park, more children playing around, and very few young people.
Chen Lang sat in the park for nearly half an hour, his tired body and mind feeling much relieved, before he slowly got up and left.
...
At seven-thirty in the evening.
Whoosh!
Chen Lang re-entered the game, appearing in that forest.
He allocated all five attribute points to strength again, bringing his attack cap to a terrifying 78 points.
Then, Chen Lang teleported back to town. The experience from level 8 wild wolves had dropped to 80, so staying there was pointless, and he had run out of the 200 Minor Healing Potions he bought, needing to restock.
With a flash of white light, Chen Lang appeared in the plaza of Qingfeng Village.
Instead of heading straight to the apothecary, he first went to the village entrance to find the White-Bearded Village Chief.
"Old man, do you take these?"
Chen Lang took out a wild wolf tooth and waved it in front of the White-Bearded Village Chief.
"Where did you pick this up?"
The White-Bearded Village Chief glanced at Chen Lang and asked.
"Picked it up in the Eastern Woods. Do you take it or not? Give me an answer."
Chen Lang said.
"I'll take it, but you have too few. Come back when you've collected more."
The White-Bearded Village Chief seemed unimpressed with Chen Lang, rolling his eyes.
"Not few at all, I've got more!"
Chen Lang took out over sixty wild wolf teeth in one go, stunning the White-Bearded Village Chief.
"You kid, I didn't expect you to grow to this extent."
The White-Bearded Village Chief looked at Chen Lang for a while before taking all the wild wolf teeth.
"Ding!"
"Congratulations, you've gained 1920 experience points."
An average of 30 experience points per tooth, not bad, since this was extra.
Chen Lang happily patted the White-Bearded Village Chief on the shoulder and said with a smile, "Chief, seeing how strong I am now, do you have any challenging tasks for me?"
"Kid, don't say I don't. I do have a big task for you, but you're not strong enough yet. Come back when you reach level 10!"
The White-Bearded Village Chief stroked his beard and said meaningfully.
"What kind of thing is so mysterious?"
Chen Lang asked suspiciously, feeling the old man had some ulterior motives.
"You'll know when the time comes."
The White-Bearded Village Chief didn't say much more. Find the original chapter at g.com.
Chen Lang didn't ask further, bid farewell to the White-Bearded Village Chief, and then ran to the apothecary to buy nearly two hundred more Minor Healing Potions.
He had earned over 80 silver coins today, all exchanged for healing potions, enough to last him a long time.
"Beep!"
Just as Chen Lang was about to continue hunting monsters, suddenly, his friend list flashed, and Qingtian Xiao Yu requested a conversation.
"What's up, Xiao Yu?"
Chen Lang answered.
"Tianya brother, are you free now?"
On the other side, Qingtian Xiao Yu showed only half her upper body, looking adorable.
"I'm just about to go hunt monsters, what's up?"
Chen Lang asked.
"It's like this, our captain found a Boss. We tried once but couldn't take it down. We want to find someone to join us, and I thought of you first. If you join, there should be no problem."
Qingtian Xiao Yu quickly said.
"Alright, but let me make it clear, I won't work for free. If any Assassin equipment drops, it's mine."
Chen Lang pondered for a moment and said.
"Tianya brother, wait a moment, I'll tell the captain."
With that, Qingtian Xiao Yu hung up the call. In less than a minute, her icon flashed again, and Chen Lang answered.
"Tianya brother, the captain agreed to your request. If there's suitable equipment for you, you'll get priority, but you can only take one piece."
"Okay, send me the location!"
Chen Lang pondered for a moment and agreed. He wasn't greedy; one piece was enough.
"Okay."
Qingtian Xiao Yu nodded and then sent a location.
"Breeze Ridge?"
Chen Lang looked at the location, somewhat surprised. He had passed by there in the afternoon, and if he remembered correctly, it was the territory of the Blood Hedgehog.
Without much hesitation, Chen Lang grabbed his dagger and quickly headed to Breeze Ridge.
With a 122% speed bonus, it took Chen Lang less than twenty minutes to reach the destination. Sure enough, it was the territory of the level 5 wild monster, the Blood Hedgehog.
There weren't many players here, grouped in threes and fours, busily fighting the Blood Hedgehog.
Not far ahead, a four-person team was fiercely attacking a Blood Hedgehog, and one of them was the little priest, Qingtian Xiao Yu.
The team's composition was fairly reasonable. Besides Qingtian Xiao Yu, the priest, the other three were a knight, a swordsman, and an archer, all level 4.
The three weren't very old; the knight was the youngest, looking about 20, probably still a college student, while the other two were slightly older, about the same age as Chen Lang.
At the moment, the three were continuously attacking the Blood Hedgehog, red numbers floating up one after another, but each only dealt ten or so damage. After all, the Blood Hedgehog's defense wasn't low.
