*SECOND MONTH: NEW GHIS - THREE WEEKS*
Three weeks.
For twenty-one days Aegon did not sleep in a bed. He slept in black uniform, boots on, katana at side, in outer New Ghis, with his ten thousand.
Every day, siege.
Day three: They tried fire arrows. Ghiscari doused walls with water, legion mocked.
Day five: They built a tower, wood from Volantene ships. Ghiscari burned it with oil at night.
Day eight: Aegon tried thunder breathing to climb wall — *First Form: Thunderclap and Flash* — flash up, cut two legionaries, but spears pushed him off. He fell twenty feet, wind breathing saved legs, but ankle twisted. Grey Worm dragged him back.
Day ten: Disease. Outer city wells poisoned by Ghiscari. Freedmen shit blood. Aegon ordered wells dug new, with his own hands, boots muddy.
Day twelve: Grey Worm said, "My king, we must use dragon. Men dying."
Aegon said, "No. If we burn them, we are masters. Hold."
Day fifteen: Ghiscari general shouted from inner wall, "Targaryen boy! Your aunt sits in Meereen eating grapes while your men starve! Go home!"
Aegon said nothing. He wore same black uniform, now torn, patched, boots cracked. He sharpened katana every night.
Day eighteen: Aegon stopped attacking. He sat. He watched. Barristan's letter came: _Daenerys holds, but Qarth ships block food. Hurry._
Aegon watched inner gate. Steel gate. But steel has hinges. Hinges have brick around. Brick has cracks.
Day twenty-one. Noon again, same hot sun.
Aegon stood, coat off, shirt off, bare chest, only black pants and boots, red katana.
"Today we enter," he told ten thousand. "Not over wall. Through wall."
He walked alone to inner gate, ahead of army.
Legion laughed. "Come to beg?"
Aegon breathed. Two breaths at once. Wind and thunder mixing in chest, something he never did.
*"Thunder Breathing — First Form: Thunderclap and Flash!"*
BOOM. He vanished — appeared at gate.
*"Wind Breathing — Third Form: Clear Storm Wind Tree!"*
He spun — wind cut around hinges, brick dust exploding.
Then he planted feet, both boots digging, and grabbed steel gate bars with bare hands.
Legion behind pushed back.
Aegon roared — not human roar — and pulled. Muscles tearing, boots sliding, thunder crackling on skin.
*"Thunder Breathing — Sixth Form: Rumble and Flash — Triple!"*
Lightning triple flash — same second three times. Gate screamed. Hinges cracked. Brick around hinges cracked more.
"RAM NOW!" he screamed.
Ten thousand charged — Unsullied with ram, freedmen pushing.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Aegon kept pulling, hands bleeding, black pants torn, boots smoking from friction.
Brick gave. One hinge popped — steel screaming.
Gap — one foot.
Aegon slipped through gap sideways, inside gatehouse, alone with three thousand legion.
Silence.
Then — *"Second Form: Claws of the Purifying Wind! Fourth Form: Distant Thunder! Sixth Form: Black Wind Gale!"*
He became storm inside. Wind claws, thunder flashes. Men fell in circle around him, not able to get close. Wind gale threw twenty off walkway.
He reached inner lock — huge iron bar — and cut it with katana, both breaths in one cut. Bar split.
"OPEN!" he shouted.
Outside, Grey Worm and Daario pulled — gate, broken, dragged open, screaming on stone.
Inner gate — open.
For first time in three hundred years, New Ghis inner city was breached.
Aegon stood inside, bloody hands, chest heaving, boots broken, uniform gone, katana dripping, surrounded by dead legionaries, three thousand more stepping back, afraid of one boy who pulled a gate with hands.
He raised sword, voice cracked but loud:
"NEW GHIS IS FREE! DROP SPEARS! YOU ARE FREE!"
Unsullied poured in behind him, shields up, and this time legion broke.
Twenty-one days, and gate fell.
