Damien dashed forward like a black streak, his glowing cleaver flashing in the dim light.
With surgical precision, he sliced clean through the Special Grade A demon’s right arm.
The creature let out a blood-curdling scream of pain and rage, then violently shoved Damien backward.
The demon inhaled sharply and blew out a massive cloud of toxic black fire-smoke that filled the hallway.
Damien flipped backward through the air, landing gracefully.
“Akira!
Clear it!”
Akira nodded, gripping his fist tightly.
He poured his strength into one powerful strike.
”Kinetic Explosion!”
BOOOOM!
A violent burst of raw kinetic force erupted from his punch, blowing away the poisonous smoke and debris in every direction.
The Special Grade A demon’s eyes widened in surprise as the blast hit him, but he regenerated the damage almost instantly, dark flesh knitting back together.
Damien was already moving.
He dashed straight toward the demon again.
The Special Grade A ducked low and slammed a devastating fist upward into Damien’s chin.
Yet Damien simply stared down at the demon with cold, unfazed eyes.
In the next heartbeat, Damien brought his cleaver crashing downward with terrifying force.
The blade split the demon’s head open, blood spraying wildly.
The creature dropped to its knees.
But even then, it began regenerating again, the wound closing rapidly.
Saki slowly pushed herself up from the ground, body trembling but eyes burning with determination.
“I can still fight…!”
”Don’t be stupid, Saki!” Akira shouted.
Damien glanced at her.
“Stay back.
You’ve done enough.”
But Saki didn’t listen.
With blood still on her lips, she forced her hands into a complex series of hand signs, pouring the last of her strength into one final technique.
With a brilliant flash, the wings swept forward like a divine judgment, slamming into the Special Grade A demon with overwhelming force.
The creature was blasted violently across the hallway, crashing through multiple walls.
However, the cost was severe.
Saki’s body gave out.
She collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
”Saki!” Akira rushed to her side, dropping to his knees and gently holding her.
Damien stood in front of them, cleaver still raised.
His voice was calm but urgent.
”Both of you — run.
Now.”
The Special Grade A demon slowly rose from the rubble once again, its body regenerating even faster than before.
Its eyes glowed with pure malice as it stared at the group.
The situation had become critical.
Akira held the unconscious Saki tightly, heart pounding.
Damien stood as the final line of defense, his black goggles still glowing as he analyzed the regenerating monster.
This fight was pushing all of them to their absolute limits.
