On “Tuning” · An essay left in a journal by Rhinedottir, who had not yet devoured the Archon of Life:
“The essence of alchemy is creation, and ‘Tuning’ is much the same—creating new things from the old.
“It is a pity that Alice’s friend, Moh, has already passed away.
“Yet even the remnant pages he left behind in the Hexenzirkel allowed me a glimpse into how fascinating those mysteries are.
Sadly, I do not possess the techniques to manipulate Ice VI and Memoria.
“I wonder how his authority compares to that of Naberius, the Archon of Life?
“Possessing such authority, he was already qualified as a Descender, and he ought to have had the means to survive within that black tide.
“Was he truly still influenced by the original fragment?
Choosing self-sacrifice for the vast majority.
“Moh’s identity remains a mystery to most, but to several of the witches, it was no secret—or rather, he never intended to hide it at all.
“Truly a sovereign who does as he pleases.”
On Painting · Albedo:
“It was gifted to the Anemo Archon Barbatos by the first Tsar of White Sands back in the day—exceptionally exquisite, pioneering the technique of painting with negative space.
“The white portion is the Anemo Archon, and the black portion is Dvalin, the Dragon of the East.”
On Literature · Filins:
“During a certain era, most of the sprites in the Snezhnayan court were skilled in song, dance, and writing, because talented sprites could gain an audience with His Majesty Monomakh.
“After the center of political power in Snezhnaya moved its capital from Kitezh to Snezhnaya Keep, His Majesty’s salon was always filled with human figures.
“His Majesty accepted humans as his subjects, and during that period, human talent emerged in abundance, particularly with several great literary masters appearing in succession.
“They received His Majesty’s commendation and praise, two of whom were hailed as ‘representing the depth of Snezhnayan literature’ and ‘representing the breadth of Snezhnayan literature.’
“This title made quite a few sprites green with envy—many of whom were grand dukes whose status and wealth were far greater than those of human writers.
“Perhaps they envied those literary giants who were granted special pardons to enter and leave the palace at will, staying so close to His Majesty?
“In my evaluation, however, those sprite writers’ monotonous panegyrics were indeed far less interesting than the stories written by humans.”
“The Lawrence Clan has deep ties with sprites, and I’ve heard many stories about this figure.
“Rumor has it that before the Pale Star Court was established, Monomakh wandered in Remuria and the Oasis in the Sand—places that are now Fontaine and Sumeru.
“He taught the King of Remuria how to play the Golden Symphony of the world using water, and taught the Goddess of Flowers how to dance an elegant spinning dance under the moonlit night.
“The sprites, including some historians, attribute the brilliance of these ancient civilizations’ arts to what Monomakh imparted back then.
“In many ruin texts, he is referred to as ‘Teacher of the King’ and ‘Lead Dancer of the Mistress of Flowers.’
“Historians of the Central Continent view him as the origin of ‘Art.'”
On Drama · Furina:
“I’ve heard many accounts of this god’s artistic deeds.
Much of the stage play soundtrack music currently popular in Fontaine was adapted from music he created.
“Some artifacts unearthed from Remuria even feature statues carved in his likeness.
He is a god with deep ties to ancient Fontaine, truly living up to his reputation as a deity renowned for art.
“I heard Focalors say he was a sprite very good at making friends. All of the original Seven Archons were his friends.”
