Jean understood his meaning and felt a little guilty.

“Just got back from outside.

Did you skip lunch today too?” Jiang Chen asked.Full novel: Genshin Impact : The Hidden Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“How did you know?”

“As if I don’t know you?” Jiang Chen spread his hands.

“If you’d been at the Knights of Favonius headquarters today, there’s no way you’d take the time to come all the way here.

You must have passed by on your way, right?”

“Are my movements really that easy to predict?”

Jean fell into thought, realizing this might give the Fatui and the Abyss Order an opportunity to set an ambush.

Still, with her strength, she could crush them and foil their plans.

“What do you want to eat?”

Jiang Chen gestured for her to sit down.

“I’ll treat you to something special.”

“I’m always indebted to your kindness…”

“Don’t say things like that, alright?”

“Then…

thank you.”

Jean tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said, “Pizza.”

“Same as always—don’t tell Margaret.”

“I know,” Jean said, a faint smile crossing her face.

Margaret was the owner of Cat’s Tail Tavern, which was right next to Good Hunter.

The most popular dish there was pizza.

If Margaret found out that Good Hunter also served pizza to customers, there might be a business dispute.

“Then I’ll use eel.

I saved it just for you.”

As he spoke, Jiang Chen reached into a bucket in the corner and pulled out a long fish.

“Eel?”

Jean had never seen this species before.

“One of Diluc’s servants happened to catch it in the lake below the Dawn Winery a few days ago.

They didn’t know if it was edible, so they didn’t dare cook it.

I bought it off them.”

Jiang Chen gathered Anemo energy in his hand, and in the blink of an eye, the eel’s life was ended.

He then began to work with his knife.

Jean hesitated.

“Eel pizza?”

“Bingo.

As a traveler from another world, I happen to know things that Teyvat doesn’t,” Jiang Chen said.

Meanwhile.

At the gates of Mondstadt.

“The city of wind and dandelions, the city of freedom.

Travelers under the protection of the Knights, welcome to Mondstadt.”

A red-clad girl with chestnut-colored hair and a red bunny-ear bow tied atop her head was enthusiastically introducing the city to a blonde girl and her companion, who had arrived in Mondstadt during this turbulent time.

The undisguised pride in her voice filled the two newcomers with longing.

“Wow, no more camping out in the wild!”

The floating companion spun around excitedly, but quickly noticed something off about the atmosphere.

“Amber, why does everyone in the city look so down?”

“Everyone’s been worried about Stormterror lately.”

Amber put her hands on her hips and said confidently, “But with Jean here, everything will be fine.”

“Jean?”

“The Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius—Jean, the Guardian of Mondstadt,” Amber said.

“With Jean by our side, even a disaster like Stormterror can be overcome.”

The companion was impressed.

“Amber really looks up to Jean!”

“Of course!

But before we go to the Knights’ headquarters, we need to stop somewhere first.”

“Where?”

“Good Hunter.”

“A restaurant?

Is there food?!” The companion’s eyes lit up.

“Paimon gets excited the moment food is mentioned!

It’s not even dinnertime yet!” Amber said.

“It’s because the owner of Good Hunter is a traveler from another world, just like Lumine.

Maybe we can get some help from him.”

“Another traveler from another world?”

The blonde girl, called Lumine, tensed up.

“Yeah, but he’s definitely not your brother.

Boss Jiang Chen has black hair and black eyes—he’s quite handsome.”

Amber had heard Lumine describe her brother outside the city and waved her hand.

“Let’s go.”

“I’ll give you a gift later, as thanks for helping me clear out that Hilichurl camp.”

“Oh, I get a share too, right?

What about me?” Paimon grew anxious.

“It’s something you can’t use, little Paimon.

But tonight, I’ll treat you to Mondstadt’s specialty—Sticky Honey Roast!”

“Wah~~~”

Paimon’s mouth practically watered.

“Here we are.”

Amber pointed to the Good Hunter sign.

Just then, she saw a window on the second floor open and called out, “Boss Jiang Chen, there are two travelers from another world here.

Do you want to meet them?”

“Oh?”

Jiang Chen looked out and met Lumine’s brown eyes.

He was momentarily dazed.

Then he smiled faintly and nodded in greeting.

“Come on up,” he said to Amber.

“You’re just in time.

You’re in for a treat.”

“What does ‘in for a treat’ mean?

Is there good food?”

Paimon looked expectant as she floated up beside Amber and Lumine.

“Acting Grand Master Jean is here too!”

Amber was startled.

“Amber, don’t be rude.”

Jean said, placing one hand over her chest, and addressed Lumine and Paimon.

“Welcome to Mondstadt, travelers borne by the wind.”

“Hello.”

The Acting Grand Master of the Knights, whom Amber held in such high regard, turned out to be such a beauty.

Lumine then turned her gaze to the Good Hunter owner, who had caught her attention.

“Hello.

I’m Lumine.”
