At the Statue of the Seven plaza, Amber was still giving instructions.

“Make sure you follow my commands, got it?”

“If you don’t use the wind glider properly and end up breaking a bone falling, Mondstadt has plenty of cases every year.”Full novel: Genshin Impact : The Hidden Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Wow, is it really that scary?”

Paimon looked frightened.

“Good thing I can fly on my own.”

“As long as you use it correctly, there’s no problem!

And with me, Mondstadt’s gliding champion, here, you’ve got nothing to worry about!”

Amber patted her chest, speaking with absolute confidence.

“Gliding champion?”

“So Amber’s really that amazing?”

Paimon exaggeratedly exclaimed.

Amber seemed to recall something, her expression turning slightly embarrassed.

Not wanting to dwell on the topic, she said, “Well, anyway, don’t worry.

Let’s get started.”

“Lumine, just jump from here and spread your wind glider.”

Amber demonstrated, leaping from the circular stone railing of the plaza.

Her wind glider unfurled instantly, carrying her to the fountain in front of the Goethe Hotel.

After landing, she waved up at Lumine, who was still standing above.

“Alright.”

Lumine leaped down as well.

Whoosh!

Her rapidly falling body stabilized as the wind glider opened, as if a current of air were supporting her.

She tried maneuvering a bit.

Lumine glided smoothly toward Amber’s direction.

“Lumine really has talent!

Keep practicing, and maybe you’ll compete against me in Mondstadt’s gliding championship.”

Amber encouraged.

“There’s a gliding championship?” Paimon asked.

“Where there’s a champion, there’s a competition!”

“And what’s the prize for first place!?”

Paimon grew excited.

“Can I participate too?”

“Uh…”

“Amber, things in the city seem a bit chaotic.”

Lumine spoke up.

From midair, she had spotted many Knights of Favonius moving about in ways that differed from normal patrols.

“Really?

Let’s find someone to ask later.”

Amber was curious as well.

“That one?” Paimon pointed.

Standing at the entrance of the Goethe Hotel was a man with short brown hair, wearing a black coat over a red shirt and goggles.

He seemed to notice their gaze and said impatiently, “What are you looking at?

Stay away!

This is Fatui territory!”

“…”

Amber stuck out her tongue, pulling Lumine and Paimon along.

“Let’s keep our distance from those guys.”

“Hmph, just because they booked the Goethe Hotel, they act like it’s their turf.

So arrogant.

If I ever catch them slipping, the Knights of Favionius will give them what’s coming.”

Her tone carried clear hostility.

“Who are they?” Lumine asked.

“The Fatui, a diplomatic delegation from Snezhnaya.

Not really our concern.”

Amber waved her hand.

“Let’s keep going.

Next, fly to the fountain plaza in front of Good Hunter, and you’ll pass the preliminary test.”

Amber led Lumine behind the Goethe Hotel and glided down first.

Lumine quickly followed.

From midair, she could see that Good Hunter had already closed up, its doors and windows shut tight.

Even the general store across the way seemed the same.

The fountain plaza, which usually had some life to it, was now eerily silent.

Just as she was wondering why—

A fierce gust of wind blew in from outside Cider Lake, carrying a bone-chilling cold.

Mondstadt’s large windmills, which normally turned slowly, were now spinning rapidly under the force of the gale.

Posters, flyers, trash, and countless leaves were swept into the air.

The sky was visibly darkening, dark clouds gathering fast.

“A storm?”

“Mondstadt is a city blessed by the Anemo Archon.

A storm this violent shouldn’t be possible.”

“The wind direction…”

Lumine clenched her small fist.

ROAR!!

A dragon’s cry from far away at Brightcrown Canyon echoed across Mondstadt’s skies.

The six-winged Stormterror descended, wrapped in hurricanes and sea spray.

Its massive body shattered countless rooftops and structures.

Screams of terror erupted within the city, quickly swallowed by the howling wind.

“Hey, hey, hey—it actually came!”

At the Knights of Favonius headquarters, Jiang Chen, Kaeya, Jean, and Lisa all rushed out.

Watching Stormterror weave through Mondstadt’s low skies, Kaeya said with relief, “Good thing we evacuated people early.”

“Why would Stormterror suddenly attack Mondstadt?”

Jean’s heart was anxious.

This unexpected situation caught her off guard.

Even though she had arranged for the knights to guide civilians to safety, if they couldn’t drive it away or calm it down quickly, the damage within the city would only worsen.

“This chaotic elemental energy…”

Lisa touched the skin on her arm.

“It really does make people irritable.”

ROAR!!!

While they assessed the situation, Stormterror ascended high above Mondstadt.

Its massive upright body faced the Statue of the Seven below, unleashing a deafening roar.

It was commanding the wind element—

Or perhaps, defiling the Anemo Archon.

The berserk wind elemental energy coalesced into a black tornado, descending from the dark clouds toward the Statue of the Seven.

But some unknown force caused the black tornado to veer off course, rampaging through the city instead.

“No good!”

Jean’s expression shifted sharply.

“That’s…”

Jiang Chen spotted a figure being swept into the sky by the black tornado.

“I’m going!”

He spoke urgently.

Spreading his wind glider, he moved with the chaotic currents and soared into the sky.

This wasn’t a game.

If something went wrong, he couldn’t bear the consequences.
