Amid was awakened by the sunlight.
It wasn’t blinding sunlight, but that kind of warm, gentle light filtered through something, falling just right upon his body.
He opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was Nahida’s chin.
He was holding him, sitting on the branch of a large tree, his back against the thick trunk, gazing into the distance.
Amid stirred in his arms, poked his little head out, and followed his gaze.
Then, he froze.
In the distance, on the horizon, a red sun was slowly rising.
Golden rays spilled across the sky, and the clouds were dyed orange-red, as if someone had knocked over a paint palette.
The rainforest below was shrouded in a thin morning mist, appearing and disappearing, like a fairyland.
Amid stared in a daze.
In his past life, besides going to school, he just did homework, and on weekends he would sleep until noon; let alone sunrise, he didn’t even want to watch the sunset.
This was the first time he had truly watched a sunrise.
So, sunrise was this beautiful.
“Bi~” He let out a soft cry, his voice gentle.
‘Good morning, Mother Nahida.’
Nahida lowered his head, meeting his blue eyes that had just woken up and were still a bit hazy, and the corners of his mouth curved up.
“You’re awake,” he said softly, then lifted him up a bit so he was sitting on his lap,
“You woke up at just the right time.
We can watch the sunrise together.”
Amid sat obediently on his lap, his little claws clutching his arm, looking out into the distance together.
The golden sunlight grew brighter and brighter, and finally, the red sun leaped completely above the horizon.
The rays spilled onto them, warm and soft, as if the entire world had been gilded in gold.
Amid felt completely comfortable; that Warmth seemed to seep into every cell.
Amid suddenly felt something surging inside his body—it was the sunlight, being absorbed by his small body and converted into some kind of warm energy.
His wings moved involuntarily.
And then—
“Bi!”
He flew up all of a sudden.
It wasn’t intentional; it was a natural lifting off after feeling so comfortable.
He circled in the air, his little wings flapping, flying around Nahida twice, in an incredibly good mood.
‘It feels so good to fly!’
Nahida watched him buzzing around him like a happy little bee, his eyes curving into two crescents as he smiled.
After flying around twice, Amid’s stomach suddenly growled.
“Gurgle~”
He stopped and clutched his stomach.
‘Hungry.’
He looked around, his gaze falling on a tree not far away—it was an Apple tree, with bright red Apples hanging from the branches.
“Bi!” He cried out excitedly, flapped his wings, and flew straight over.
Flying to the Apple tree, he hugged the largest Apple with his little claws and pulled with all his might.
The Apple fell off as expected.
Amid was holding the Apple and just about to start eating when he suddenly felt a gaze on his back.
He turned his head and saw Nahida looking at him with an expression he couldn’t decipher.
A bit troubled, a bit serious, as if he were thinking about something very important.
Amid tilted his head.
‘What is Mother thinking about?’
Nahida was indeed thinking about something.
He was thinking—
‘If he only eats fruit, won’t his nutrition be unbalanced?’
‘Little Amid is still growing, he needs milk.’
‘I didn’t find any lactating animals yesterday, should I look again today?’
He seriously began to consider today’s “milk-finding plan.”
Amid, of course, didn’t know what he was thinking.
He was holding the Apple and about to take a bite when he suddenly shivered.
“Bi?”
He looked around in confusion.
‘What’s going on?’
He vigilantly turned his little head, fully activating his Psychic perception to scan the surroundings—
No danger.
No enemies.
Everything was calm.
But the chill remained.
Amid furrowed his little brow and began to think seriously.
‘Could it be…
the Doctor?’
As soon as this thought appeared, he immediately felt it made a lot of sense.
‘Yes!
It must be him!’
‘Besides that pervert, who would care about a harmless little Celebi like me?’
‘He must already know of my existence, perhaps he’s even sending people to find me!’
‘No, I have to hurry and find help!’
As he thought about it, his little face scrunched up into a ball.
But his stomach growled again.
“Gurgle~”
Amid looked down at the Apple in his arms, then at his own flat little belly.
‘…Better eat first.’
‘Nothing is more important than eating.’
He opened his mouth and took a big bite of the Apple.
Sweet, refreshing juice exploded in his mouth, the flesh was crisp, it was delicious.
‘Mmm!
Delicious!’
He finished one in a few bites, then picked another one and kept eating.
Nahida also walked over.
He raised his hand and gently beckoned toward an Apple on the tree.
An Apple flew down on its own and landed steadily in his hand.
He imitated Amid, opened his small mouth, and took a bite.
Then his eyes narrowed slightly.
It was a very strange feeling.
The sweet and sour juice melted on the tip of his tongue, carrying the taste of morning dew and sunlight.
He had never eaten this before.
Or rather, he had never eaten anything at all.
But now, he had tasted it.
Nahida took another bite, his eyes curving like two little crescents.
Amid finished the third Apple and finally stopped, feeling satisfied.
He rubbed his round little belly, let out a satisfied “Bi~”, flew down from the tree, landed on Nahida’s shoulder, and sat down comfortably.
Nahida brought him to the shore of Pardis Dhyai, crouched down, and washed his hands with the cool pond water.
Then he used his damp little hands to gently wipe Amid’s mouth.
Amid was sitting on his shoulder, swinging his little feet, when he suddenly felt something cool on his face.
He turned his head and saw Nahida seriously wiping the Apple juice from the corner of his mouth.
Amid froze for a moment, then scratched his head in embarrassment.
‘I’m being taken care of like a child.’
However, it seemed he was a child to begin with.
A child only two days old.
Never mind, if I’m being taken care of, so be it; it’s actually quite comfortable.
He sat obediently and let Nahida wipe him clean.
Just then—
A man’s voice suddenly came from the distance, filled with surprise and excitement:
“Boss!
I found it!
That mysterious creature is here!”
Amid and Nahida both froze at the same time.

They looked toward the source of the sound.
Across Pardis Dhyai, a man dressed in the attire of The Eremites was standing on the shore, pointing at them and shouting.
Behind him, several more figures emerged from the forest.
Amid’s little face instantly fell.
“Bi!” He stretched out his little claw and pointed angrily at the man.
‘Who are you calling a mysterious creature!’
‘You’re the mysterious creature!
Your whole family is a mysterious creature!’
Unfortunately, the other party couldn’t understand him.
Those people saw his reaction and became even more excited.
“Yes, yes, yes!
That’s it!
The one on the wanted poster!”
“Quick!
Surround them!
Don’t let it run away!”
They split into two groups, one group started running along the pond shore toward them, while the other jumped straight into Pardis Dhyai to swim over.
Nahida stood up, his expression calm.
He was not panicked or angry; he just gently took Amid down from his shoulder and protected him in his arms.
“It’s not safe here anymore,” he said softly,
“Let’s go.”
After saying this, he tapped his toes lightly on the ground, and his whole body floated up lightly.
Then, holding Amid, he flew toward the downstream direction of Pardis Dhyai.
Behind them came the exclamations of The Eremites members:
“It, it flew away?!”
“Quick, pursue!”
“Pursue my ass!
Can you fly?!”
“Then what do we do?”
“Go back and report to the Grand Sage!
Just say there’s another person with that mysterious creature, a little girl who can fly!”
“Yes, yes, yes!
Go report it quickly!”
Amid lay in Nahida’s arms, looked back at the figures that were getting smaller and smaller, and felt a bit complicated.
‘Wanted poster…’
‘That old geezer Azar, he moves really fast.’
He looked up at Nahida’s profile.
The sunlight fell on his face, and his expression was very calm, showing no signs of joy or anger.
But Amid could feel that his hands holding him had tightened slightly.
‘Is Mother worried?’
He gently patted his arm with his little claw.
“Bi~”
‘Don’t be afraid, I’m here.’
Nahida looked down at him, the corners of his mouth curving up.
“I’m not afraid,” he said softly,
“I just think…
it’s a bit troublesome.”
He paused, then added:
“But it doesn’t matter.
I will protect you well.”
Amid felt warm inside, and he nuzzled his little head into his arms.
‘I will protect you too, Mother.’
‘No matter how many people come, it’s the same.’
