Nahida carried a bamboo basket on his back and walked up along the vine bridge.
The third level, the third treehouse.
He stopped outside the door and knocked gently.
There was no response.
He knocked again.
Still nothing.
Nahida tilted his head, feeling a bit puzzled.
‘Is he not here?’
Just as he was wondering whether to wait a little longer, footsteps came from behind.
A young man wearing the Forest Rangers uniform walked over, holding a pile of items in his arms.
Seeing Nahida standing outside Tighnari’s door, he asked casually, “Looking for Mr.
Tighnari?”
Nahida turned around and nodded.
“He is over at Collei’s place.” The Forest Ranger pointed his chin in another direction,
“Right over there, that slightly smaller treehouse.
That child Collei hasn’t been feeling well lately, and Tighnari goes to see him every day.”
Nahida nodded again and said politely, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” The Forest Ranger waved his hand with a smile and walked away, carrying the rope.
Nahida carried the bamboo basket on his back and walked in the direction he had pointed.
Amid was listening inside the bamboo basket and thought silently to himself:
‘Collei…
right, he should still be suffering from Eleazar right now.’
‘Tighnari is taking care of him; he really is a good person.’
Soon, Nahida saw that treehouse.
It was indeed smaller than Tighnari’s, but it was kept very tidy.
There were a few pots of flowers planted at the entrance, and some herbs were drying on the windowsill.
One of them had a pair of large, fluffy ears and a big, bushy tail behind him—it was none other than Tighnari.
He was talking to the other two people.
The other two—
A young man with long, golden hair tied into a braid that hung over his shoulder.
He was wearing exotic clothing that exposed his slender waist.
A girl…
no, not a girl, it was a floating little thing.
Wearing a white jumpsuit with gold trim, with a small cape on his back that had a black-blue starry texture, floating in mid-air.
Nahida’s footsteps paused.
His gaze fell on those two people.
His green eyes flickered slightly, as if he were thinking about something, or perhaps planning something.
Amid, inside the bamboo basket, couldn’t see anything.
He only felt that Nahida had stopped, and there were people talking outside.
Who could it be?
He perked up his ears to listen.
Tighnari’s voice came through, gentle but with a hint of confusion:
“A child I haven’t seen before…
why aren’t you wearing shoes?
Are you in some kind of trouble?”
Then came footsteps, getting closer and closer.
“Hello, little child.” Tighnari’s voice was close at hand, “May I ask if you have encountered any trouble?”
Nahida’s voice rang out, soft and with a hint of contemplation in his tone: “Hmm…
indeed, I have encountered some trouble.”
Then—
A familiar voice rang out.
“Little child, what kind of trouble is it?” The voice was crisp and lively, carrying a kind of natural, instant familiarity, “Don’t worry, no matter what the trouble is, I—he will definitely be able to help you solve it!” This chapter is updated first at novelping(.)com.
Amid was stunned.
This voice…
He was too familiar with it.
Having played allogene for so long, how could he not recognize it?
It’s Paimon!
Amid couldn’t suppress his curiosity and quietly poked his head out.
He looked out cautiously through the gap between Nahida’s shoulder and neck.
The first thing he saw was that floating little thing.
Paimon.
That’s right, it was him.
That iconic outfit, that little expression that said “I’m very impressive,” there was no mistake.
Then his gaze shifted to the person Paimon was pointing at.
That young man with the golden braid.
Aether.
It was Aether, not Lumine.
Amid felt a bit conflicted inside.
‘It’s actually the brother?’
‘The Abyss Order didn’t go off-banner this time?’
That means…
‘Then Lumine is on the Abyss side.’
‘That’s fine, that’s fine.
If Lumine is in the Abyss, at least I don’t have to worry about her coming to abduct Mama Nahida.’
Amid was a bit distracted for a moment.
But he didn’t know that while he thought he was hiding well, he had actually been exposed long ago.
