As night slowly descended and the clock approached seven, the passenger door was finally gently opened.

A girl with long, straight black hair and a meticulously styled outfit got in, naturally adjusting the seat to make herself more comfortable.

Jiang Ye scrutinized her for a few moments.Full novel: Gentleman Hustler: The Richest Man Eats Soft Rice — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her figure was decent, her looks were okay, placing her in the upper-middle range.

Her charm score seemed to hover around 80, in a sort of Schrödinger's state, posing some risk.

Noticing his gaze, the girl didn't shy away. She smiled and crossed her legs, clad in sheer-look tights, and waved two slender fingers in front of him.

"Sir, is it okay?"

Jiang Ye's eyelid twitched, and Lili's "industry guide price" flashed through his mind.

Damn it!

You really dare to ask for that!

Lili, looking like that, only asked for 400 or 600, and you dare to start at 2000? Are they diamond-studded?

"Sorry, I'm waiting for someone."

"Oh..."

The girl raised an eyebrow, said nothing more, and simply got out of the car.

Jiang Ye watched her leave, humming softly.

2000!

With that money, I could... Wait a minute!

Could those two fingers she showed mean 200?

Lili is 600, she's 200, that price makes much more sense! Could I have misunderstood?

200...

I heard from my dorm buddies that Jincheng is ridiculously expensive, but I didn't expect Shengtian to be this cheap?

Could it be that some influencer slashed the prices? What a blessing!

Shaking off these random thoughts, Jiang Ye continued to wait patiently.

After a while, the passenger door opened again. The source of this chapter is g.com.

This time, the girl who got in was immediately judged by Jiang Ye as a "no-go"—definitely not reaching 80, the physical disparity was too great.

Before she could settle in, he waved her off with a blank expression, signaling her to leave.

The girl pouted, muttered "What's the big deal," and slammed the door as she left.

As the clock neared eight, Jiang Ye's stomach growled with hunger, and his confidence began to waver. The passenger door opened for the third time.

This time, he was suddenly dazzled!

The girl in front of him wore a long, off-white down jacket and a gray scarf. Her features were bright and striking, her makeup was just right, and she had a cool, artistic vibe.

If Lili from yesterday could score a 90, this girl, Jiang Ye estimated, could at least be an 85 or 86!

The girl quickly glanced at Jiang Ye, surprised to find a young man driving, a hint of surprise flashed across her face before she smiled and sat in the passenger seat.

Jiang Ye glanced at her and casually asked, "Girl, what's the deal?"

The girl turned slightly towards the window and clearly stated a price: "One month... 50,000."

Jiang Ye: "!!!"

His eyelid twitched several times, and he coughed heavily, starting to fumble around the car: "My throat is so dry! Eh? Where did I put my water? Gone?"

Saying this, he pretended to start the car.

The girl beside him, seeing that he was about to drive off without discussing anything, was startled: "Sir, where are we going?"

Jiang Ye pointed to a convenience store not far away with its lights on: "Thirsty, going to buy a bottle of water. I can't just walk over and leave you alone in the car, or have you wait outside, right? Hmm... not sure if there's parking over there."

He then quietly watched her, waiting for her reaction.

This was the core tactic of Jiang Ye's meticulously devised Plan B.

Spending a hefty 800 bucks to rent this BMW, he waited near the school to find those with a qualifying charm score, perceptive, and with potential!

The amount didn't matter; what was important was that they had the heart, the willingness to "actively contribute"!

Like now, he deliberately created a situation where he needed to leave the vehicle. If she was savvy, she might say, "Sir, wait here, I'll get it for you."

Though a few bucks for water, even with tenfold cashback, was just a few dozen bucks, it could help him identify suitable targets for further engagement and investment.

Hmm...

It sounded like a low success rate, heavily reliant on luck and the girl's "insight," but Jiang Ye couldn't think of any other quick way to screen suitable targets.

Unfortunately, this striking 85-point girl clearly didn't get his "good intentions."

Jiang Ye's heart sank.

Sigh, she's "not getting it."

He sighed inwardly, turned off the engine, leaned back in his seat, and waved her off with disinterest:

"Forget it, I'm waiting for someone. You can go."

The girl was taken aback, not quite understanding how it suddenly turned into "waiting for someone," but she didn't ask further and got out of the car.

In the following period, two more girls sat in the passenger seat, and two more knocked on the driver's window.

But either their charm score was clearly inadequate, or they blatantly proposed transactions, lacking the "spirit" and "perception" Jiang Ye hoped for.

He glanced at his phone; it was already ten at night.

The streets were becoming sparse, and the entrance to the Music Academy was growing quiet.

A deep sense of fatigue and frustration welled up inside him.

Could it be...

This flawless, brilliantly conceived Plan B, this 800-buck investment, was going down the drain?

Not a single person passed the basic "buy water" test, let alone noticed his growling, hungry stomach.

He sighed deeply, feeling utterly drained.

It seemed like luck wasn't on his side today, and he had to call it quits.

But that's okay, he'd go home, recharge, and fight again tomorrow with Plan C—

Find a high-end matchmaking agency during the day, request a date with an independent, financially stable, strong-willed, and slightly temperamental older single woman.

Though challenging, they had one advantage: during a date, they were likely to pay the bill out of pride, habit, or simply to assert their status!

As long as she paid...

While contemplating tomorrow's dating strategy, he reached for the gear shift, ready to leave this place of disappointment—

Suddenly, the passenger door was yanked open, and a woman reeking of alcohol, clearly drunk, staggered in.

She kicked off her shoes, reclined the seat, and lay down like a puddle of mud, mumbling incoherently:

"0562... Driver, let's... go..."
