For as long as she could remember, Habiba lived two lives.

On the outside, she was a dedicated wife and a loving mother of two, a daughter and son.

But on the inside, she lived in the absolute comfort of a massive, vivid fantasy world that she had built in her head since she was thirteen years old.

For years, that world was her beautiful secret escape.

But a dream can only stay locked in your head for so long before it demands to be let out.

One morning, she woke up and the feeling was stronger than ever.

The fantasy couldn’t just stay a fantasy anymore.

It was a calling.

She realized she didn’t just have fantasy stories in her head; she had a powerful talent for writing, deep acting skills and a vision to direct them herself.

The perfect moment to bring those fantasy stories to life came at midday or during the day: once the children were at school or occupied and her husband had left the house to look for work, the busy home finally felt quiet.

This was Habiba’s sacred time.

With the house to herself, she would sit down, fiercely and begin to write.

She discovered a free platform where she could type her stories directly onto her phone and publish them for the world to see, It was the perfect invisible bridge between her quiet room and her wild imagination.

She poured the stories, the romance, and the intense drama from her mind onto the pages, her pen flying as fast as her thoughts.

But it was a dangerous game.

She had to keep one ear tuned to the street.

The moment she heard familiar heavy steps outside or a sharp knock on the door, panic would surge.

In a split second, she would slide her notebook under a mattress and put her phone away, smoothing down her clothes and taking deep breath before opening the door with a calm smile.

Her husband didn’t know a thing; she had to protect this spark in total secrecy.

The truth was, reality was heavy, suffocating weight, and the problem was that fear tightly gripped her chest every single day.

“How could a woman like her, a married and a mother in Kenya, ever break into the glamorous, distant world of international entertainment? She wasn’t financially stable”, she said that to herself.

In fact, she didn’t have a single cent to her name to spend on fancy cameras, acting classes, or plane tickets.

Money was a constant struggle, and every shilling she could find had to go towards her family.

On top of the financial stress, she was exhausted from being idle at home day after day.

Her husband was a traditional man, and yes, he did care for her, but he wanted her to stay within the walls of the house, away from the outside working world.

To him, her role was set in stone.

But to Habiba, staying idle felt like a slow fading away.

It made her feel useless human being, like her mind was a beautiful room that no one ever bothered to open.

The only thing that kept her going when stress piled high and her spirits were down were the Chinese and Korean dramas she watched on her screen.

She loved them fiercely.

They were her escape, her comfort, and her survival.

But Habiba didn’t just watch; she immersed herself.

Whenever arguments with her husband left her crying, or whenever people’s gossip’s, cruel words about their financial struggles made her feel crushed.

She would block out the noise of the world by studying Mandarin Chinese.

Sitting with her phone, repeating the tones and writing out the characters became her ultimate sanctuary.

Her husband absolutely hated it; he became deeply jealous watching her study with suspicious eyes.

Because she loved the dramas so much, he convinced himself of a lie.

“you are only learning this because you want to cheat on me,” he would accuse her, “you are going to find a Chinese or Korean man in the future and leave me.”

Even though those words hurt, Habiba didn’t back down.

She didn’t care.

She did it stubbornly and proudly.

Even when he was sitting right there in the room, she would look away, ignore his complaints, and keep her mind poured into the language.

She knew she wasn’t doing anything wrong.

It was her peace, and something deep inside told her that these languages would create a greater future for her one day.

As time went by, that restless, burning itchiness inside her soul grew even stronger.

The voice in her kept screaming that she had to do something more with her life.

So, she took a step further and began teaching herself Korean, too.

She was constantly looking for something to ease her mind, to quiet the stress, and to keep herself moving forward.

Watching those stories and speaking those languages woke up a sudden realization.

If they can tell stories that save my life, She thought, why can’t I tell stories that can change the world?

She didn’t want to be just a viewer anymore.

She wanted to be a creator.

She wanted to be big.

She wanted to be famous.

She wanted to prove to herself, to her husband, and to the world that she was meant for something massive.

The burning desire to act was growing too loud to ignore.

One afternoon, with the house completely empty and the echo of her favorite drama still ringing in her ears, Habiba stood up.

She propped her phone against the wall.

Her heart thudded against her ribs like a trapped bird, terrified of what her husband would say if he ever walked in.

She pressed the red record button.

She stepped back into the frame, took a deep breath, and made a fierce promise to herself: “I would do this. I will chase my dream.”

Then, she let years of hidden pain, idle tears, and wild dreams completely take over her face.

She began to act with her whole soul.

When she finished, her hands were shaking.

She attached the short video clip to an email address she had found online for two major entertainment companies in China.

With one final, breathless look at the screen, Habiba tapped “Send!”

The clips sailed across the ocean.

Straight towards the desks of lin Sheng and Zhou Han.

Her ordinary life was about to explode.
