The white world disappeared.
Arthur felt space twist violently around him before his feet touched solid ground. His eyes opened immediately, and his expression became serious as he looked across the unfamiliar battlefield.
The entire world was covered in darkness.
Above him was a crimson sky filled with slowly rotating clouds, while beneath his feet was an endless plain of black stone. There were no mountains, trees, or buildings anywhere in sight.
Only monsters.
[Ding! God-Grade Class Evolution Trial.]
[Round One has begun.]
[Defeat all enemies to unlock the Mythical-Grade Boss.]
Arthur’s eyes slowly swept across the battlefield.
Thirty-two Common-Grade bosses stood at the front.
Behind them were sixteen Elite-Grade bosses, followed by eight Royal-Grade bosses and four Legendary-Grade bosses. Further behind stood two gigantic Epic-Grade monsters.
At the very end of the battlefield stood an enormous stone statue.
The statue was at least fifty meters tall.
It depicted an ancient armored warrior holding a massive greatsword with both hands. Its entire body was made from dark gray stone, and its eyes remained tightly closed.
Arthur immediately understood.
"That is the Mythical boss."
The statue did not move.
However, Arthur could feel an invisible pressure coming from it.
Even while sleeping, the creature made Arthur’s instincts scream.
Arthur tightened his grip around his Epic-Grade daggers.
"Let’s see whether this trial deserves its God-grade difficulty."
"Come out", he muttered softly.
Ten Skeleton Warriors emerged one after another from the ground.
They carried swords and shields. Pale green soul fire burned inside their empty eye sockets as they immediately surrounded Arthur.
Although they were powerful, Arthur knew their limits.
Against Common and Elite bosses, they could fight directly.
However, against Royal and higher-ranked monsters, they would gradually become nothing more than support.
"Kill."
Arthur gave a single command.
The ten Skeleton Warriors immediately charged forward.
The thirty-two Common bosses roared.
Their bodies were enormous, and each possessed five thousand health. Some carried crude weapons, while others possessed sharp claws and powerful fists.
They immediately rushed toward the Skeleton Warriors.
Arthur activated his Epic-Grade Stealth Technique.
His body blurred.
The next moment, he disappeared.
The Common bosses immediately lost sight of him.
Their attention focused entirely on the Skeleton Warriors.
Arthur silently appeared behind the battlefield.
His dagger flashed.
Slash!
A monster’s head flew into the air.
[Ding! Common-Grade Boss defeated. You have gained 10 gold.]
Arthur did not stop.
His body vanished again.
He appeared beside another monster and drove his dagger directly into its skull. The blade pierced through flesh and bone before emerging from the other side.
The creature collapsed.
Arthur’s dagger was terrifying.
His base damage already exceeded five thousand.
With the additional five hundred percent damage provided by his Epic-Grade weapon, a full-powered attack from Arthur was enough to instantly kill even the elite bosses.
The battlefield turned into a massacre. Arthur moved through the monsters like a ghost.
Every time he appeared, another creature fell.
The Skeleton Warriors were equally ruthless.
Their shields blocked the attacks of the Common bosses while their swords constantly slashed toward their enemies.
Within minutes, the first thirty-two bosses had become corpses.
The moment the final Common-Grade boss collapsed, something changed.
The battlefield suddenly fell silent.
Arthur stood behind the corpse of the monster, his dagger dripping with dark blood, while dozens of pairs of crimson eyes stared toward the battlefield in confusion.
Thirty-two Common-Grade bosses had entered the battle.
Now every single one of them was dead.
Yet most of the remaining monsters had never even seen the person responsible.
A deep roar suddenly echoed across the battlefield.
The sixteen Elite bosses were the first to react.
They could sense that something was terribly wrong.
Their massive bodies immediately tensed as their eyes swept across the black battlefield. They could see Arthur’s Skeleton Warriors, but the human who had entered the trial had completely disappeared.
One of the Elite bosses roared again.
The roar was filled with fury.
Then every monster moved.
The eight Royal bosses immediately charged forward.
The four Legendary bosses stepped onto the battlefield, their terrifying auras exploding outward. Even the two Epic bosses, which had remained motionless until now, slowly raised their heads.
Arthur’s expression changed.
"All of them are attacking at once?"
The next moment, the battlefield descended into chaos.
The remaining monsters charged in every direction.
They could not see Arthur. They could not sense him. However, they knew he was somewhere among them.
The ten Skeleton Warriors immediately became the first targets.
Dozens of attacks descended upon them.
"Scatter!"
Arthur gave the command.
The Skeleton Warriors immediately separated.
But it was already too late.
BOOM!
A Royal boss slammed its enormous fist into the ground. The shockwave spread across the battlefield.
Three Skeleton Warriors were thrown into the air.
Before they could land, two Elite bosses attacked them from opposite directions.
Crack!
The Skeleton Warriors shattered.
Arthur watched their soul fire disappear.
He did not even blink.
Reviving them now would be meaningless.
The trial had changed.
The monsters were no longer fighting one group at a time.
The entire battlefield had become a war zone.
Arthur had no intention of wasting his precious mana.
"Keep attacking."
The remaining Skeleton Warriors immediately rushed forward.
They charged directly toward the Elite bosses.
The Elite bosses roared.
The Royal bosses smashed their weapons into the ground.
The Legendary monsters released devastating attacks toward every direction.
They were trying to force Arthur out. Arthur appeared behind an Elite boss.
His dagger flashed.
Slash!
The monster’s head separated from its body.
Arthur vanished again.
The corpse had not even hit the ground when Arthur appeared beside another monster.
His dagger pierced through its eye. The blade entered deeply. The Elite boss screamed.
Arthur twisted his wrist. The monster collapsed. Two Elite bosses died within seconds.
The battlefield erupted. The remaining bosses went completely insane.
Roars filled the world.
Explosions shook the ground.
Arthur continued moving. He was impossible to catch. An Elite boss suddenly felt something behind it.
Before it could react, Arthur’s dagger entered the back of its skull.
Another corpse fell.
Arthur appeared again.
Slash!
Another Elite boss died.
Then another.
Then another.
The monsters could not understand what was happening. They could only watch their allies fall one after another.
However, Arthur suddenly felt something.
A dangerous sensation exploded inside his mind.
He moved.
BOOM!
A terrifying beam of crimson plasma passed through the location where he had been standing.
The beam struck the ground. The entire battlefield exploded.
Arthur rolled across the black stone. Then he immediately disappeared again.
His eyes turned cold.
The plasma beam had not come from an Elite boss. Nor had it come from a Royal or Legendary boss.
Arthur looked toward the distance.
One of the Epic bosses was staring directly at him. It could see him.
Crimson energy gathered inside its mouth.
Arthur’s expression darkened.
"So you really can see through my Stealth."
The Epic boss fired again.
Arthur vanished.
BOOM!
The beam destroyed everything in its path.
Several Elite bosses that had accidentally been standing nearby were directly hit by the attack.
Their enormous bodies were torn apart.
Arthur came behind another elite boss. His dagger flashed.
The creature died. Arthur did not look toward the Epic boss again.
He had absolutely no intention of fighting it directly.
Not yet.
His current strength was insufficient to casually fight an Epic-Grade boss while dozens of other monsters surrounded him.
The Epic bosses could see him. That meant he would just have to run from them.
"Try to catch me."
