Sunshine Psychiatric Hospital.
Doctor Li, dressed in a white coat and holding a medical record, looked at the young man in front of him.
“You’re certain you want to stay with Lin Qiye the whole time, until he wakes up?”
An Qingyu answered without hesitation:
“Of course.”
A complicated expression appeared on Doctor Li’s face.
“Lin Qiye fought against a god’s avatar. His soul has suffered severe damage. It’s possible that he may never wake up…”
Doctor Li did not finish his sentence, but the implication was clear, he wanted An Qingyu to think it through carefully.
Lin Qiye’s current condition was like that of a vegetative patient. He might never regain consciousness for the rest of his life.
An Qingyu’s expression was serious and unwavering.
“I will stay by Qiye’s side the whole time. He can’t do without my care.”
Doctor Li closed the medical record.
“There are actually professional caregivers in the hospital…”
“No,” An Qingyu interrupted him. “I don’t like the idea of other people seeing Qiye’s body.”
Doctor Li’s expression turned somewhat complicated again, but he quickly regained his composure. “Alright. There won’t be any surveillance cameras installed in your room.”
“Thank you.” After curling his lips into a faint smile in thanks, An Qingyu left Doctor Li’s office.
Doctor Li dropped heavily into the black cushioned chair, unconsciously bending the edge of the medical record in his hand.
“So, the boyfriend of Lin Qiye, the agent of two gods? Interesting.”
Knowing full well that Lin Qiye might never wake up, yet still remaining so calm and composed.
Was it because he was deeply in love with Lin Qiye, or because he was certain Lin Qiye would definitely recover?
An Qingyu appeared refined and gentle, but Doctor Li instinctively felt that this person was dangerous.

After An Qingyu returned to the hospital room, he carried Lin Qiye in his arms and took him into the bathroom attached to the room.
He used the showerhead to wash Lin Qiye’s body, squeezed out body wash and lathered it into foam, then rinsed him clean.
An Qingyu took a dry towel and wiped along Lin Qiye’s neck inch by inch until he was dry.
Lin Qiye lay quietly in the bathtub, as if asleep, showing not the slightest reaction to what was being done to him.
An Qingyu pinched Lin Qiye’s chin.
“Qiye, the way you look now is just like a perfect human specimen.”
“No matter what I do to you, you don’t react at all.”
An Qingyu looked at the delicate, beautiful young body in the bathtub, and the more he looked, the more satisfied he felt.
It was simply a perfect human specimen.
However, he had no urge to soak Lin Qiye in formalin.
An Qingyu preferred placing Lin Qiye on the bed, and in fact, that was exactly what he did.
Looking at the quiet young man on the bed, he curved his lips into a faint smile.
“Although this is fine too. It saves me the trouble of personally feeding you your medicine.”
A full day and night passed.
Lin Qiye’s lips were already swollen and reddened.
With a look of deep satisfaction, An Qingyu put his clothes back on. Although Qiye seemed as if he were asleep, he still had all the reactions he should have.
Completely unable to resist, Qiye was like a little white rabbit, there was a unique flavor to savoring him.
An Qingyu took attentive care of Lin Qiye’s daily needs for a full year.
One year later.
When Lin Qiye opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was an unfamiliar white ceiling.
A chill swept over him.
Lowering his head, he realized he wasn’t wearing any clothes.
And not only that, he discovered large patches of red marks covering his skin.
“Qiye, you’re finally awake.”
From the doorway came a familiar, cool voice, tinged with a trace of barely perceptible joy.
Lin Qiye looked up and saw An Qingyu in a white coat, holding something that looked like an ointment in his hand.
Standing against the light, An Qingyu’s facial features appeared more sharply defined, his overall bearing more mature than before.
His gaze fell on Lin Qiye’s unclothed body.
Feeling awkward, Lin Qiye tightened his grip on the edge of the blanket and pulled it over himself.
An Qingyu walked to the bedside and sat down beside him, chuckling softly.
“Qiye, what are you being shy about? This whole past year, I’ve been the one washing your body.”
Lin Qiye caught the key phrase.
“A year? I was unconscious for a whole year?”
An Qingyu nodded. “Yes.”
He briefly recounted how Lin Qiye had been brought to the Fasting Institute.
Lin Qiye understood what had happened.
“So that’s how it was.”
With practiced ease, An Qingyu reached to lift Lin Qiye’s blanket.
Almost instinctively, Lin Qiye clutched the blanket tightly.
“Wait, Qingyu, what are you doing?”
Even though they were both men, lying naked on the bed still felt strange.
“Sorry,” An Qingyu said apologetically. “Force of habit. I subconsciously wanted to help you get dressed.”
It finally dawned on Lin Qiye.
“During the year I was unconscious, you were the one taking care of me?”
“Mm.” An Qingyu’s voice was calm.
Lin Qiye placed a hand on An Qingyu’s shoulder.
“Good brother. That’s true loyalty.”
An Qingyu’s eyes curved with a smile.
“After all, we’re brothers. I can at least help with something like this.”
Lin Qiye felt a little moved. This friend of his was truly loyal.
He had been unconscious for a whole year, and An Qingyu had never once left his side.
“Oh, right,” Lin Qiye suddenly realized. “Why are there so many red marks on my body?”
He stretched a long, fair leg out from under the blanket.
It was covered in red marks and what looked like bite-like traces.
“Oh, that,”
An Qingyu said calmly, “Qiye, you were bitten by insects and had an allergic reaction.”
He opened his palm, revealing the ointment in his hand.
“I just got this prescribed by Doctor Li. I was about to come back and apply it for you.”
When it came to his good brother An Qingyu’s words, Lin Qiye trusted him completely.
“No wonder I woke up without clothes on and covered in red marks.”
An Qingyu unscrewed the lid of the ointment jar, and a pleasant herbal fragrance instantly filled the air.
“Qiye, do you need me to help you apply it?”
Lin Qiye took the jar from him.
“No need. I’ll do it myself.”
He dipped a finger into the jar, scooping out some of the cream, which had a texture like ice cream.
He suddenly paused and looked at An Qingyu.
“Well… Qingyu, could you step out for a moment?”
The area near his private parts also needed to be treated. If someone were watching from the side, he would feel uncomfortable all over.
“Alright.” Understanding, An Qingyu stood up and went into the bathroom.
An Qingyu turned on the faucet, cupped some cold water in his hands, and splashed it onto his face. The chill helped calm the restless agitation in his heart.
The ointment he had given Qiye was something he had specially developed, capable of restoring the body to its original state very quickly.
On one hand, it was to prevent Qiye, if he happened to wake up, from noticing anything unusual about his body and growing suspicious.
On the other hand, he was worried that Qiye’s body wouldn’t be able to withstand the constant exertion day after day and night after night.
“Qingyu, come here for a second. I can’t reach my back, help me apply the ointment.”
Lin Qiye’s voice called out for help.
In the mirror, the corners of An Qingyu’s lips lifted into a pleased smile.
Qiye really couldn’t do without him after all.
The feeling of being relied upon by Qiye captivated him.
