In her quiet bedroom, Sophia stood up with a heavy sigh. Her cheeks still burned with embarrassment. She grabbed a mop from the corner and slowly began to clean the floor, trying to clear her head.

Meanwhile, high above the bustling city streets, Corvous floated in the sky. He looked down at the massive, towering buildings and the tiny people walking below.

"I want the gems for myself," Corvous muttered, his face twisting in frustration. "But I have no choice. I have to give them to that man."Full novel: Good (astragel) and Evil (azathoth) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He dropped from the sky, landing heavily onto the concrete pavement. The ground cracked beneath his feet.

A businessman dropped his briefcase, his eyes going wide with terror. "Monster! A monster!" he screamed, pointing a trembling finger at Corvous. Panic erupted. People shoved each other, screaming and running away in all directions.

Corvous watched them flee, unimpressed. He began to walk forward, but suddenly, a blinding flash of light engulfed the street. Corvous covered his eyes with his arm.

When the light faded, three figures stood blocking his path: Astrax the Blue Ranger, Solara the Yellow Ranger, and Tunde the Green Ranger.

Astrax glared at the monster through his visor. "What are you doing on our planet?"

"Look, I don't know how you got those gems," Corvous said, crossing his arms. "But Lord Azathoth wants them, and he shall have them."

"Who is this Azathoth?" Astrax demanded.

"I am just a servant. I don't know much," Corvous replied smoothly. "But for your own good, just hand them over. Azathoth wants them, and he will get them."

Solara stepped forward, tilting her head. "Then why doesn't he come here and take them himself? If he wants them so badly, why send you?"

"I don't know. I am just a messenger," Corvous said, his eyes narrowing. "But I am telling you, your gems are beyond you. You don't know what you are wielding. You have no idea."

Tunde cracked his knuckles, stepping into a fighting stance. "Enough talking. Let's fight."

"You have no idea what you are wielding," Corvous repeated darkly. "This crown is beyond—"

"Enough!" Solara interrupted. "Why would we give them to you?"

"It's true," Tunde added firmly. "We will never give you our gems."

The new voice sent a chill down Tunde’s spine. He spun around. Standing directly behind him was a figure clad in dark armor.

"The Black Ranger?" Tunde gasped, stepping back.

Through his dark helmet, Simon smiled. He walked slowly past Tunde, his posture completely relaxed.

"Another Ranger?" Solara asked, looking completely shocked. "Are you one of us?"

"No, no, no," Simon chuckled, waving a hand dismissively. "I am only for Lord Azathoth."

Astrax summoned his weapon, aiming it at Simon. "Who are you? And how did you get a gem?"

Simon laughed out loud. "How did you get yours? You call it destiny. But now that a gem is in my hands, you are angry. Yes, yes... Astragel gave you the gems to protect your world, or whatever."

"Who is Astragel?" Astrax asked, stepping forward.

Simon ignored the question. "Please, I didn't come to talk to you. I came for your precious stones."

"Why are our stones so special?" Tunde asked, his grip tightening on his weapon.

Simon stopped walking and smiled behind his visor. "The Crown of Seven Days."

"Seven Crown?" Astrax repeated, completely confused.

Simon ignored them again and turned his attention to Corvous. Then, he glanced around the street.

He looked directly at Astrax. "Where is Ignis? I came to see him personally. We have a history together."

"Ignis is sick," Astrax replied cautiously.

Solara quickly spoke up. "Tell us more about the Crown of Seven Days! We can wait!"

Simon looked at her and scoffed. "So, you like talking, woman." He turned back to Corvous, shaking his head. "Ignis is not here."

Simon looked back at Astrax, his voice dropping to a mocking whisper. "Tell Ignis... Serena said hi."

Before Astrax could ask what that meant, Simon looked at Corvous with total disgust. "You stink of failure. I just know you will lose."

With a dark, swirling flash, Simon completely vanished. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.

"Wait!" Solara yelled, reaching out. "He might know about the gems! He seemed to know a lot!"

Astrax lowered his weapon slightly. "Serena? Who is that?"

"Does that matter right now?" Tunde snapped, pointing forward. "We still have a monster in front of us! Why do you monsters keep coming?"

"Obviously for the gems," Corvous snarled, getting ready to fight.

Astrax looked at him coldly. "Who exactly wants these gems from us?"

"Lord Azathoth wants them," Corvous answered.

"Why do you call him Lord?" Astrax asked.

"Look, I don't know much! Like I said, I am just a mere servant," Corvous shouted, losing his patience. "In fact, our entire race are mere servants to Azathoth."

Astrax stared at him for a long, silent second.

"So, you are useless, then."

In the blink of an eye, Astrax vanished.

Corvous gasped, looking around frantically for the Blue Ranger. Suddenly, a perfect, glowing blue line flashed directly across Corvous’s vision.

"What—?" Corvous choked out.

Before he could finish his sentence, Corvous’s body cleanly split in half. Golden blood violently splattered across the pavement. The two halves of his body crashed to the ground.

Corvous gasped for air, his eyes wide in absolute shock. "...He will have it..." he whispered. Then, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed, completely dead.

Astrax reappeared a few feet away, smoothly putting his weapon away. He didn't even look at the dead monster.

He turned to Solara and Tunde, his face totally calm. "He looked like he had no use. We need to go get the Black one."
