Kevin’s phone rang after an hour.

It was his assistant.

“Good evening sir, I have a report on Lara Collins.” The assistant sounded exhausted and sleep deprived.Full novel: Got Roped Into A Marriage The Adopted Heiress Didn’t Want, Who Cares! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Go on,” Kevin commanded.

He wanted all of the report before deciding the next move.

“Miss Lara Collins was born on the 11th of November, the same day as Miss Juliette.

She was also born in St Francis Maternity Hospital.

Her blood group is A positive.

Her late mother’s name is…” The assistant was cut suddenly by Kevin.

“Presumed birth mother,” Kevin pressed on the presumed birth unconsciously.

“Her late presumed birth mother’s name is Mrs June Covan, and her late presumed birth father’s name is Mr Ronald Collins.” The assistant had given up fighting against him.

“They had married early in age and gave birth to Miss Lara Collins.

Sorry, presumably given birth to her.

They both died in a road traffic accident, run down by a petrol carrier truck while driving.

Late Mr Collins had a lot of debt with the loansharks before dying.

This led to Mrs Isabella Covan, Miss’s presumed grandmother, to sell every belonging to allot money and shift to the slums.”

The assistant was incredibly sleepy and was super done with Kevin.

“I love my job.

I love my job.

I love my salary.” The assistant kept telling herself.

“I need a raise.

I need that raise.

Or the Christmas bonus works as well.”

Kevin looked at the two DNA test reports he had done by the hospital.

They felt radioactive in his hands, like he was holding a really powerful weapon.

One test was using Juliette’s blood sample, and another was what he had done illegally, using the blood sample of that woman – Lara Collins.

“Sir, it’s illegal to use the blood sample for anything without the permission of the donor.” The hospital director begged.

The hospital director was sweating buckets thinking at the possibilities.

“Do you or do you not want the investment for next month?” Kevin said, imposingly.

He knew what would work on that pathetic fear-struck hospital director.

The hospital director gulped in fear and anxiety.

He really didn’t know what to choose anymore.

“Please reconsider, sir.

This is illegal.

If the donor gets to know, they can sue us and charge us with a criminal case,” the hospital director begged to reconsider.

“Don’t worry.

The person will soon become family.

If she tries to do anything, the Ravenwoods are powerful enough to stop her from escalating.” Kevin smirked as he saw the hospital director’s hesitation.

His reassurance made the hospital director take that leap full of risks.

Like Arnold Ravenwood, grilled in Kevin’s mind – money rules the world.

And so, in the end, Kevin got the DNA testing done easily by money and power.

“She studied in government-funded public schools and was the first in the capital consecutively.

She even graduated from St Peter University in mechanical engineering.

Currently, Miss Lara Collins is pursuing a music career, sir.” The assistant completed her reporting.

Cristina had woken up after the medicines and had heard everything had gone through the past hour.

She too, was interested in the DNA analysis.

As she was reading the DNA test reports, her eyes widened as she listened to the report that her husband’s assistant, Ruth.

She couldn’t believe that the daughter she raised was not her daughter but a child who should be in the slums.

Whereas her own blood was raised in the slums.

She looked at the sleeping Juliette, who looked peaceful in the bed beside her in the VIP ward, and sighed.

Her duaghter was Juliette.

Not that girl, Lara.

Juliette is the one she raised with all her heart and soul.

Not Lara.

Juliette is the one she dreamed of having a fairy tale ending.

Not Lara.

And that Adrian Lawrence was getting in the way of her fairy tale ending for Juliette.

As Cristina was chewing on her thumbs, a thought struck her head.

“Honey, this is a miracle.

Miracle, honey.

Miracle.

Oh, Chirst.

You do love your children,” Cristina said with epiphany.

Kevin couldn’t realise what was going in his wife’s head.

“Cristina, what do you mean?” Kevin said with impatience.

“Oh, honey, this is perfect.

We have two daughters.

We just need to get one married off to that Adrian boy,” Cristina said.

“Speak in human language, Cristina,” Kevin irked.

Cristina pouted at her husband’s unfound anger and said, “We now have two daughters.

We can just send the blood one to the Lawrence family for the engagement.”

“The engagement is in Juliette’s name.

How are we going to switch brides then?” Kevin retorted.

“Who said that the engagement is between Juliette and Adrian?” Cristina laughed with pure happiness.

“As in?” Kevin was getting something in his head but was not sure whether he was right.

“The engagement is between a granddaughter of Ravenwoods and the eldest grandson of Lawrence.

Juliette is not a Ravenwood, but that Lara Collins is.” Cristina laughed sinisterly.

“If we take these two reports and attach the photo of that Lara woman, Father will totally cancel the engagement of Juliette.

He probably would run to that woman and get her to agree to marry.

Probably by using stocks or career boosting.” Kevin agreed.

“And as someone coming from the slums, all of that money will blind her and make her agree to the marriage.

Though the 10% shares will be lost, but it’s better than losing our precious daughter, isn’t it?”

Cristina added the final touch.

Both of them looked at their raised daughter and said, “The engagement must be broken.

Juliette has cried too much because of that engagement.”
