Gazing at the three dragon eggs in the stone chest that radiated warm energy fluctuations, the most important thing right now was to figure out a way to safely transport these dragon eggs back to the Red Keep.

However, that was clearly unrealistic for tonight; Viserys looked at his claws—there was no way to carry the dragon eggs.

He needed to think of another way.Full novel: GOT : Viserys III Targaryen — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Over the next few days, Viserys would often stroll through the markets of King’s Landing after his training.

He carefully observed the works of various artisans.

Eventually, he selected an old craftsman famous for weaving exquisite rattan baskets.

Under the pretext of “needing a few specially sized baskets to transport prey for hounds,” he custom-ordered a few special baskets.

“They must be sturdy enough.”

Viserys said in a childish yet unquestionable tone, “As for the size…

about this big.”

He gestured to the size of the dragon eggs in his memory.

Although the old craftsman was puzzled by such a special order, he respectfully accepted the prince’s request.

Then he went and bought a slightly larger chest to store the dragon eggs later.

However, the dragon eggs were still too important, so he kept a rat by Varys’s side, constantly eavesdropping on the reports of every visitor to see if anyone was reporting news about him.

At the same time, he also controlled a few rats to shuttle through the secret passages of the Red Keep, mapping out this complex network of passages in his mind to find a route that could safely transport the dragon eggs to his room.

After all, this secret passage was said to connect to all the rooms in the Red Keep, and there were also several secret passages that led directly out of the Red Keep or even King’s Landing.

Take, for example, the secret passage leading to the Blackwater Rush that Varys always used in the original work.

The only person who still clearly knew most of the secret passages now was Varys, who had always used them to contact and meet his “little birds”.

Furthermore, knowing all the secret passages meant that even if an accident occurred in a future war and it broke out early, he could still leave King’s Landing.

After a few more days of exploration, Viserys finally arranged everything.

Then he controlled three dogs to go to the Dragonpit to fetch the dragon eggs, while rats and stray cats patrolled vigilantly around the wild dogs.

Viserys manipulated them to get the dragon eggs, and then entered the Red Keep according to the previously planned secret passages.

Viserys stood by the fireplace, gently moving aside a few loose bricks behind it.

An opening just large enough for a dog to pass through was revealed.

The entrance to the secret passage in his bedroom was under the bed, but the passage below had collapsed.

However, behind the wall of the fireplace, he found a passable branch route.

What was even better was that the collapsed secret passage happened to form a natural secret storeroom.

When all three dragon eggs were safely delivered, Viserys finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He stroked each dragon egg, feeling the warm texture on their surfaces and the energy fluctuations within.

Just as he had seen before, he could also be certain that these were not Daenerys’s three dragon eggs.

This meant that House Targaryen might have six dragons by then.

No, maybe even more; he seemed to have forgotten about a place called Summerhall.

He had been focusing on magic and the Dragonpit before, forgetting that he had originally planned to find a chance to check Summerhall for dragon eggs.

But now, he had a better way.

Since the Skinchanger ability could control animals, why not try exploring the limits of his own ability’s range?

After putting the dragon eggs back into the custom-made wooden chest, Viserys lifted the bed, revealing the secret passage entrance below.

Although the passage had collapsed, the space at the entrance was just enough to accommodate the wooden chest.

He carefully placed the wooden chest inside and remade the bed.

After finishing all this, Viserys closed his eyes, concentrated, and tried to extend his consciousness further away.

He felt his mental power like invisible tentacles, slowly expanding outward, passing through the walls of the Red Keep, crossing the streets of King’s Landing, and exploring in the direction of Summerhall.

However, his mental power could only explore about halfway through the Kingswood, and any further was impossible.

During this time, however, Viserys also sensed a special energy fluctuation, which he felt he had experienced before.

But could there still be a weirwood tree in the Kingswood?

Should not they have been cut down long ago, especially since royal people frequently came here to hunt?

However, this tree might have grown only within the last 100 years, because the continent had been relatively turbulent during this time, and it was normal that no one had noticed this tree.

Viserys connected his consciousness with the weirwood tree, making his mental power even more solid.

Viserys did not see the surrounding situation through the tree, and rightfully so, as this tree probably had not had eyes carved into it by the Children of the Forest; but he only needed it as a medium to enhance his power.

Viserys continued to expand his consciousness southward, crossing the Kingsroad leading to Storms End.

Further south were the natural boundaries of The Stormlands, The Reach, and Dorne—the Red Mountains, and the ruins of Summerhall were at the foot of the Red Mountains.

Just like when he went to the Dragonpit before, Viserys first controlled a few animals in the Red Mountains, but his top choice now was those good at digging holes, since there were plenty of animal choices in the mountains.

So he controlled two wild boars, seven gophers, plus a Shadowcat and a mountain lion.

The latter two were used to escort the dragon eggs; after all, this place was still quite far from King’s Landing, and it was impossible to take the main road along the way, so it definitely would not be peaceful, and wild dogs were not very reassuring.

He still used his mental power to perceive the general area first, and then had these animals dig.

Finally, under a collapsed fireplace, he discovered four fairly well-preserved dragon eggs.

When they were first unearthed, the outside of the eggshells was wrapped in a layer of stone melted into a fluid state by wildfire.

It took a lot of effort to use the gophers’ teeth to gnaw it off bit by bit, which wasted several gophers in the process.

One of these four dragon eggs was as pitch black as a starless night, the surface of its shell covered with dark red micro-veins, resembling cooled volcanic rock.

One had a dull bronze background, distributed with smoky dark gray patches, resembling an ancient bronze artifact that had weathered a long history.

One presented a warm copper-yellow background, with soft swirling patterns of milky white and pale gold.

One was deep red, like coagulated blood, with cracks on the surface resembling golden veins, looking like burning charcoal under the light.

The other three had been crushed by the collapsed building; although it was a bit regrettable, a person should be content.

While the dragon eggs were being excavated here, a squad of wild dogs had already rushed toward Summerhall under the cover of night.

The group numbered about ten, bringing all the custom-made baskets along to prevent accidents.

The round trip lasted a total of two weeks before Viserys brought the four dragon eggs back to King’s Landing.

He placed the Shadowcat and mountain lion he had controlled and brought along right in the Kingswood for his future use.
