The father of the Three Fates?

Whether it was Uranus, the King of the Gods, or Gaia, the Mother Earth, neither had ever known that the Three Fates actually had a father.

When the three goddesses were first born and their divine fluctuations spread throughout the world, both Uranus and Gaia had clearly sensed only the power of Nyx, the Goddess of Night.Full novel: Greek Mythology: The True God of Fate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

That meant the Three Fates had seemingly been conceived by Nyx alone.

As one of the Primordial Gods, Nyx possessed unquestionable power.

It was therefore not surprising that she could give birth to three goddesses capable of glimpsing fate.

But how could they have a father?

When the three goddesses were born, neither Uranus nor Gaia had sensed the existence of another deity.

They did not know that Theron had simply been too weak at the time.

His divine power had been so feeble that it was completely overwhelmed by Nyx’s mighty aura, without even the slightest fluctuation leaking out.

They would never have considered that possibility.

In fact, they had guessed the exact opposite.

Could it be that their father was simply too powerful, and their own strength at the time had been insufficient to perceive him?

After all, Uranus had not yet become the King of the Gods, while Gaia had been weakened by giving birth to the Twelve Titans.

With this thought, a name immediately appeared in their minds.

The dark twin born alongside Nyx…

One of the Primordial Gods…

Erebus.

“Respected goddesses, is your father Lord Erebus?”

Gaia asked, her expression filled with curiosity.

As a fellow Primordial God, she knew that Erebus did not seem to possess authority over Prophecy.

“Great and beautiful Queen of the Gods, please forgive our rudeness.”

“Our Father does not wish for too many beings to know of his existence and disturb him, so we cannot reveal his identity.”

Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos spoke simultaneously.

Their voices were perfectly synchronized, almost as though a single person were speaking through three mouths.

Gaia nodded and did not pursue the matter further.

Uranus, however, saw a glimmer of hope.

He had no interest in knowing who the father of the Three Fates was.

All he cared about was his own destiny.

“Then I shall trouble you, goddesses.”

“I will await your answer.”

Seeing that the Three Fates had agreed, Uranus finally relaxed.

His mood improved considerably.

He decided to return to his sacred mountain and “train” his children—the weak Twelve Titans whose existence made him feel secure.

Gaia did not stop him.

She knew she could not.

Besides…

She had matters of her own to attend to.

After confirming that Uranus, the King of the Gods, had left, Gaia quietly departed from the sacred mountain.

She traveled to the endless void where Theron resided.

As she approached, she saw a handsome young man dressed in white already waiting for her.

His features were gentle, and his demeanor was calm.

“Long time no see, merciful and revered Gaia, Mother Earth.”

Theron was the first to speak.

Gaia could sense that Theron’s divine power had increased considerably over the past thousand years.

Although he was still nowhere near her own level, his rate of growth was remarkable.

But that was not what mattered.

She had come here to ask about the prophecy.

She had never expected Theron to personally confront Uranus.

That would have been far too unrealistic.

“Respected Theron…”

“I wonder if you still remember our agreement from a thousand years ago.”

Gaia’s voice was filled with exhaustion.

Unlike the beautiful young goddess overflowing with love whom Theron had met a millennium ago, the Gaia standing before him now appeared haggard and weary.

She looked as though she had aged considerably.

“Of course I remember, merciful Mother Earth.”

“Everything you have endured pains me to see.”

Theron sighed softly.

“How would you like me to help you?”

“I have had enough of these days.”

“I want to put an end to all of this.”

Flames of anger burned within Gaia’s eyes.

They were the result of more than a thousand years of suppressed resentment.

“For all these years, I have endured it day after day.”

“He has tortured my children until their bodies were covered in wounds.”

“He has made endless demands of me.”

“He has even personally imprisoned our newborn children.”

“And he has violated the laws of my fertility.”

“I can no longer endure this.”

“One day, he will destroy everything!”

“Great Prophet, I want to know who the child from your original prophecy was—the one destined to overthrow Uranus.”

Gaia had abandoned her previous, naïve hope that Uranus could peacefully coexist with their children.

That was simply impossible.

Uranus’s nature had already determined their fate.

Weak children would be tormented by him.

Powerful children would be imprisoned by him.

As the Twelve Titans continued to grow stronger, they would eventually become threats in his eyes.

And once that happened, Uranus would undoubtedly cast them into Tartarus as well.

He would never spare anyone who made him feel threatened.

Whether they were his children or not.

But Gaia could not simply stand by and watch it happen.

The merciful Mother Earth possessed an immeasurable love for her children—one that even surpassed her love for herself.

That love was itself an embodiment of the laws of fertility.

“The prophecy will guide you toward that child.”

Theron’s voice remained calm and unhurried.

“What you need to do is bring him to me.”

“There is one thing you must understand.”

“The King of the Gods cannot be killed.”

“He can only be defeated.”

“I know…”

“But…”

Gaia hesitated.

A trace of doubt appeared in her eyes.

“Can he really be defeated?”

No one knew Uranus’s strength better than Gaia.

The King of the Gods had long since surpassed the Primordial Gods.

His creative power was so overwhelming that Gaia feared even if all of her children joined forces, they might not be able to shake him in the slightest.

“Nothing is eternal.”

“And nothing is truly undefeatable.”

Theron smiled calmly.

“You only need to find that child and bring him to me.”

“That is all.”

“Then how am I supposed to find him?”

Gaia asked instinctively.

“To defeat the King of the Gods, one does not necessarily require overwhelming divine power.”

“But one must possess the courage to face danger without fear.”

“Everything is fated.”

“You will find him.”

“Courage…”

Gaia repeated the word softly.

At last, she seemed to understand something.

She nodded.

Yet the worry in her heart did not disappear.

Uranus was simply too powerful.

So powerful that his strength seemed almost despairing.

Even though Theron spoke with absolute confidence, Gaia still found it difficult to believe him.

After all…

Theron was too weak.

So weak that she could not help wondering whether coming here to seek a solution from him had been foolish.

As Gaia continued struggling with her thoughts, new presences suddenly appeared within the void.

Before the three beautiful young goddesses even arrived, their clear and ethereal voices had already echoed through the darkness.

“Father…”

“We have come to seek guidance from the God of Prophecy.”

Gaia abruptly turned her head.

Her eyes widened in astonishment.

The Three Fates, who had been sitting proudly within their divine palace only moments ago, were now standing before Theron.

All three were bowing respectfully toward him.

They called that weak deity…

Father?!

Gaia was completely stunned.
