Uranus never received the prophecy he sought.

After returning to his sacred mountain, he dismissed the Twelve Titans, ordering each of them to fulfill their respective divine authorities.

At this point, the world remained barren.Full novel: Greek Mythology: The True God of Fate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

There were almost no living creatures, and the number of gods was far too small for a world still undergoing creation.

In the blink of an eye…

A thousand years passed.

Then, once again, fierce voices echoed across the sacred mountain.

“Uranus!”

“You cannot treat them like this!”

“They are your children as well!”

Gaia pleaded desperately.

Before her knelt three enormous giants, each with a single eye in the center of its forehead.

They were the Cyclops.

This was far from the first argument between the divine couple.

Ever since the birth of the three Cyclopes, Uranus and Gaia had quarreled countless times.

No matter how Gaia pleaded, Uranus refused to acknowledge these strange-looking children.

“No.”

“They are nothing but malformed monsters.”

“There is no possibility that such hideous creatures could be my children.”

Uranus’s voice was cold and merciless.

Ever since hearing Theron’s prophecy in the divine hall, he had grown increasingly dissatisfied with the Twelve Titans.

It was an oddly contradictory state of mind.

He did not believe the prophecy.

Nor did he think those timid children could ever overthrow him.

Yet he still regarded their very existence as a stain upon his dignity.

Over the centuries, he had come to enjoy watching them tremble beneath his divine authority.

Watching them kneel.

Beg for mercy.

Prostrate themselves before him.

The feeling of holding absolute control over everything brought him a twisted sense of satisfaction.

As a result, tormenting the Twelve Titans gradually became one of the few amusements in his endless divine life.

Time and time again, the Titans endured unbearable suffering.

Each time, they sought the protection of their merciful mother, Gaia.

Each time, Gaia pleaded with Uranus to stop.

Only out of respect for the Queen of the Gods would Uranus restrain himself for a few days.

But only for a few days.

During those brief intervals, with no other outlet for his frustrations, Uranus would press the heavens tightly against the earth, endlessly demanding Gaia’s affection.

Gaia suffered just as much.

Yet for the sake of giving her children even a brief respite, she endured the pain in silence.

Perhaps their love had already faded.

Perhaps the cracks in her heart had become too deep.

Whatever the reason…

From one of those unions, Gaia gave birth to three children unlike any who had come before.

Unlike the Twelve Titans, who had been born as true gods, these children were something entirely different.

From birth, the three brothers were grotesque in appearance.

Each possessed only a single eye.

They held no divine authority.

The world did not recognize them as gods.

Yet despite that…

They possessed astonishing divine power.

Even greater than what the Twelve Titans had possessed at birth.

The Titans had entered the world with Intermediate Divine Power.

After thousands of years, they had finally grown into gods of Greater Divine Power.

The Cyclops, however, had been born already surpassing Intermediate Divine Power.

Though they had not yet reached Greater Divine Power, it was only a matter of time.

What would happen if they continued growing?

That realization filled Uranus with both humiliation…

And fear.

Once again, he remembered the prophecy that had lingered in the back of his mind for centuries.

The prophecy had never specified which child would one day overthrow him.

The Twelve Titans seemed utterly incapable.

But…

What if it referred to children born later?

Behind Uranus’s intense hatred for the Cyclops…

Lurked fear.

Every day he searched for opportunities to dispose of them.

Every day Gaia stood in his way.

No matter how she begged…

No matter how desperately she pleaded…

His resolve never wavered.

What angered him most was that the three Cyclops seemed incapable of fear.

Even when Uranus used the authority of the King of the Gods to torture them until they were covered in wounds…

They simply stared back at him with their single unblinking eyes.

Whenever he met those fearless gazes…

His fury only grew stronger.

To him, they were openly challenging the dignity of the King of the Gods.

“Look at them, Gaia.”

“These monsters have no respect whatsoever for the King of the Gods!”

At last, Uranus could no longer contain his rage.

His icy gaze swept across the three brothers.

“I will tolerate them no longer.”

The Cyclops had lived for more than a hundred years.

Every time Uranus attempted to deal with them, Gaia had intervened.

Out of consideration for the Queen of the Gods, he had endured them.

But after a century…

His patience had finally run out.

This time, no amount of pleading would change his mind.

He would eliminate these monsters once and for all.

Was that gods could not truly die.

Although the Cyclops possessed no divine authority, they were still immortal beings.

After a moment of thought…

Uranus turned his gaze toward the abyss at the edge of the world.

There dwelled Tartarus, the Primordial God of the Abyss.

Unlike Gaia, whose personality had become increasingly human, the other Primordial Gods remained almost entirely devoid of individuality.

That preserved their overwhelming strength.

But it also meant they rarely involved themselves in the affairs of other gods.

The Abyss ruled by Tartarus remained forever in its ancient, primordial state.

Without hesitation, Uranus unleashed his immense divine power.

He seized the three Cyclops.

Then…

He hurled them from the sacred mountain.

Their bodies plummeted into the endless depths of Tartarus.

At the same time, the majestic voice of the King of the Gods echoed throughout creation.

“In the name of the King of the Gods…”

“I declare the Cyclops guilty of arrogance.”

“They shall be imprisoned forever…”

“Until the end of the world.”

Gaia stared at the scene in utter disbelief.

“Uranus…”

“What are you doing?”

“Have you lost your mind?!”

By casting the Cyclops into Tartarus, Uranus had thrown them into the depths of the earth itself.

Since Tartarus lay within Gaia’s body, it was as though he had forcibly shoved their enormous forms back into her very flesh.

Agonizing pain overwhelmed the Earth Mother.

The anguished cries of the Cyclops echoed constantly within her mind.

Body and spirit alike suffered unbearable torment.

The pain nearly drove her to madness.

Yet Uranus watched everything unfold with complete indifference.

That cold indifference chilled Gaia to the core.

For the first time…

She realized that Uranus had become utterly unreasonable.

The love they had once shared had vanished like passing clouds.

All that remained within her heart was endless resentment.

Uranus noticed none of it.

Having finally eliminated what he believed to be a potential threat, he felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

A smile he had not worn in centuries finally appeared.

His exhilaration left him eager to indulge himself.

Ignoring Gaia’s resistance…

Ignoring her unwillingness…

He forcibly drew the heavens down upon the earth once more.

For a time…

Heaven and earth became one.

And the world was swallowed once again by Chaos.
