That voice. Her entire body went stiff, and her fists clenched so tightly inside her pockets that her nails bit into her palms.

Slowly, she turned around. Great! The man-whore is here. She thought.

Julian. The person she hated most in the world.

He was running toward her, looking worried, and out of breath.

In this timeline, they had only just started dating a month ago. He was a senior at school, and she was a junior. She remembered how he used to smile at her in the hallway, walk her home, buy her cheap snacks after class, and tell her she was beautiful. She had believed every single word.

They stayed together for five years. Even after the apocalypse began, she had loved him while the world was ending. She had protected him. She had starved herself so he could eat, fed him, and taken care of him when he was sick.

And he had repaid her by sleeping with Chloe. Then leaving her to be torn apart by monsters while holding his child.

She didn’t care about the fact that he left her to die. But her baby? Her little Aurora? She would never, ever forgive him for that.

Julian reached her, panting for breath. "Babe!"

Before Vivian could move, he threw his arms around her, pulling her into a hug. "I saw the car outside your house. Are you okay?"

Vivian stood still in his arms.

Julian pulled back and looked her over, holding her shoulders. "Did these men hurt you?" He turned to glare up at Wyatt and Logan. "Are you kidnapping my girlfriend?"

A scoff came from the car. Wyatt had already opened the front passenger door. He climbed inside without sparing Julian more than a glance, completely ignoring the drama.

At least one person here had no patience for nonsense.

Logan remained standing beside her by the door, raising an eyebrow as he looked between Vivian and Julian with an amused expression.

Julian turned back to her, looking worried. "Vivian, what is going on?"

Vivian looked at him. This was the face she had once loved. The face she had cried over. The face she had trusted with everything. Now, she’s just disgusted staing at it.

She stepped backward, breaking out of his grip. "Julian."

"Yeah?"

"I’m breaking up with you."

He stared at her like he didn’t hear what she just said. "What?"

"I don’t want to date you anymore."

He laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay... What’s wrong? Is it because of the way I partied last night, I promise I didn’t flirt with the cheerleaders. They kept swooning over me."

"You’re ridiculous."

"Then why are you saying that?"

"Because I’ve changed my mind."

His smile disappeared completely. "Vivian, stop joking. You can’t just say we’re breaking up like that."

"Why not?"

"Because..." He looked helplessly at Logan, his ego was clearly taking a hit, then looked back at her. "Because we’re together."

Vivian gave him a cold smile. "Things change."

Julian frowned. "What does that even mean?"

"It means exactly what you said to me years later," Vivian whispered.

His expression flickered. Of course, he didn’t understand. He couldn’t.

Vivian continued, crossing her arms. "People change. Feelings change. Sometimes you stop loving someone. It happens. Don’t make such a big deal about it. You’re not the first man to get dumped, Julian."

He stared at her as if she’d just slapped him. "Is this because of them?" His eyes moved toward the agency car. "The men who came for you?"

Vivian raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"You think you’re special now because the Agency came looking for you?" He laughed bitterly. "Is that it? You meet some powerful people and suddenly I’m not good enough for you?"

Vivian almost laughed out loud. If only you knew.

"Besides, all women cheat," Vivian said smoothly, giving him an innocent smile. "Stop making such a big deal about it. You should understand."

Julian went silent. "What?"

"You heard me." She stepped closer to him, wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning in as if she were going to give him a sweet goodbye hug.

Julian’s body relaxed, thinking she was probably playing around.

But Vivian leaned right against his ear, whispering softly to him.

"Besides... look at the men who came to get me," she gestured towards the vehicle. "These are men much hotter and handsome than you."

Julian froze, his breath hitched as his face went pale.

"And you won’t believe it..." Vivian lowered her voice. "They’re Sentinels. They make you look like a peasant. And honestly, your dick is actually small. So, basically I’m doing myself a favor." She hissed.

She wasn’t even lying. In the future, he really was disappointing. The best way to bruise an arrogant man’s ego wasn’t always shouting. Sometimes, it was one quiet sentence right into his ear, attacking his manhood.
