Somewhere…
A place that has everything and nothing….
The beginning and the end.
If you glance at this place, you might think there’s nothing here.
Just absolute emptiness, without any source of light, information, or “matter.” But if you look a second time, you can see bright lights like ball lightning, except without the lightning itself, as paradoxical as that sounds.
On the third look, you witness a riot of light: soft and warm, hard and cold, “bright and dark,” good and evil.
And you could continue this countless times.
Each time, you see something new.
And each person sees something different.
At first glance, it might all look the same, but in reality, it’s different.
Only slightly, just a tiny bit.
But that tiny bit is so important that without it, you can’t piece the full picture together.
This place had always been that way.
Or not always?
Who knows?
But the fact that it had remained “unchanged” for tens, hundreds, thousands, millions of years was astonishing.
And who knows how much longer it will last?
Nobody knows.
Not you, not me.
You could spend endless time describing this place and talking about it.
It’s extraordinary in itself.
But one day, something changed.
* * *
After an uncountable (or maybe not) amount of time.
* * *
In that space of swirling colors, currents, and energies, something happened.
At first glance, that “something” was insignificant, tiny, not worth even a shred of attention.
One day, a point appeared in that space.
Just an ordinary point, but something about it was wrong.
After it appeared, it began to grow.
Slowly, just a little bit, but relentlessly.
Who knows how long that might have continued?
But at some moment, the growth stopped.
The point became a sphere.
A sphere the size of a tennis ball.
After some time, the sphere began to rotate clockwise.
Then, after a while longer, cracks started spreading across it.
They grew and intertwined.
This went on for a long time, until suddenly the space shattered.
Right where the cracks converged, it split like ice under the feet of an unwary traveler.
Chunks of it fell away like pieces of a broken mirror.
In their place, there was nothing visible, absolute nothingness.
At that same moment, as the “mirror” broke, all the currents and colors of this place rushed toward the breach.
In an instant, it disappeared.
In its place, a new space emerged.
As if nothing had happened.
Or maybe it had?
