“Will, you have plenty of time. There’s no need to rush. You know, when Lord Voldemort was your age, he had only just learned a few spells. There’s absolutely no need for you to be so anxious.”

Will climbed the stairs step by step, Dumbledore’s words echoing in his ears.

Undeniably, Dumbledore was right.Full novel: Harry Potter: Playing with Magic — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He had no reason to be so anxious.

In the past, his pursuit of knowledge had been driven purely by curiosity.

He could study diligently without overworking himself or depriving himself of sleep.

Recently, however, he had indeed become too utilitarian.

Even with the system at his disposal, it was impossible to uncover all the mysteries of magic in such a short time.

“Ultimately, I’m just a young Wizard with shallow knowledge…”

Will knew the source of his anxiety wasn’t just Lord Voldemort.

It also came from realizing that the more he learned, the more he discovered how little he actually knew.

At this moment, however, Will’s body had already reached its limit.

He was utterly exhausted and barely able to keep his eyes open.

After forcing himself to walk a few more steps, he collapsed onto his luxurious bed.

His nerves, strained from days of continuous studying, finally relaxed, and he fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, at the Hogwarts dining hall, Dumbledore sat at the head of the Professor’s table, enjoying a soft, freshly baked pumpkin pie.

He wasn’t often seen eating there, but today his gaze occasionally drifted toward Quirrell, who was sitting not far away.

Dumbledore had never expected himself to develop such a strong interest in a young Wizard other than Harry.

Exceptionally intelligent, uniquely gifted, and brilliant, Will had already begun studying Runes during his first year.

His mind was filled with a mixture of magical knowledge and his own immature theories.

He was arrogant, yet possessed a peculiar personal charisma.

Dumbledore could already foresee that this child would one day become an important figure in the Wizarding world.

But if he wasn’t guided properly, he might once again bring disaster to the Wizarding world.

Dumbledore felt somewhat overwhelmed.

After all, he was already 110 years old.

Raising Harry and dealing with Lord Voldemort were more than enough to occupy his mind.

Moreover, he had never been particularly confident in his ability to educate children.

Thinking of this, he turned his gaze toward Quirrell again.

Quirrell was timidly scooping mashed potatoes onto his plate, his face looking sickly.

He quickly finished his meal and hurried out of the dining hall.

Not long after Quirrell left, Will and Sylvia entered the dining hall.

Unusually, Will wasn’t carrying his book satchel.

Instead, he chatted and laughed with Sylvia as they sat down at the Slytherin table.

Dumbledore’s gaze fell upon Will.

Will raised his cup of milk and greeted Dumbledore from across the hall.

Seeing Will’s relaxed state, Dumbledore’s smile deepened.

From that point onward, Will relaxed considerably.

Although the other young Wizards still regarded him as the “study king,” he had regained his mindset from before enrolling at Hogwarts.

Rushing was useless.

Experience still had to be accumulated one step at a time.

Every day, he attended classes, sought private guidance from his Professors afterward, then spent time digesting what he had learned and gaining experience on his own.

However, Will now made sure to set aside some time to enjoy good food and relax.

Sometimes he would rest by the Black Lake with Sylvia, while other times he would spend time with Hermione and Neville.

The Professors of every subject were very kind to Will.

Even the old bat Snape didn’t mind personally guiding him in Potions.

“If you ever call that lump of mixed ingredients a Potion again, you’ll be spending Halloween with bat guano!”

Although Snape’s attitude wasn’t always pleasant.

As for Quirrell, Will had originally thought he would summon him to his office again.

Unexpectedly, after that incident, Quirrell stopped teaching altogether.

He merely stammered his way through the textbook or had the young Wizards study on their own.

Will had no regrets, though.

Although his experience accumulated more slowly, it was better than attracting Lord Voldemort’s attention for too long.

Another month passed in the blink of an eye, and soon it was the eve of Halloween.

That afternoon, Will and Neville were practicing spells in the Room of Requirement.

“I heard you surprised Professor Flitwick this morning, Neville.”

Will cast a Shield Charm on a dummy before continuously attacking it with various spells.

Occasional system notifications sounded in his mind.

As his mastery of various spells increased, the rate at which he gained experience also began to slow down.

For spells he was already highly familiar with, it sometimes took dozens or even hundreds of casts to gain a single point of experience.

However, Will also discovered that as long as he conducted deeper research and acquired new knowledge, he could gain a significant amount of experience.

This clearly meant that he should focus more on in-depth research into magical knowledge.

“Thanks to you for guiding me when I learned the Levitation Charm last week. Trevor, Accio!”

Neville waved his wand, and Trevor the toad flew through the air above his head.

Whenever Trevor got close to Neville, he would kick his legs and hop away, only for Neville to use Accio to bring him back.

Watching Trevor fly around, Will could already imagine the scene next year when the new students arrived and saw a toad flying around the common room every day.

“Don’t mention it. We’re friends.”

Will raised an eyebrow.

Aside from option C being somewhat abstract, both A and B were excellent choices. Follow the newest chapters on novelpin‌g.com.

After a brief consideration, Will chose A.

An ability that could sway people’s minds with just a few sentences, how could he pass up such a powerful ability?

Imperio still required magical power to cast, after all.

With that, Will’s abilities were once again enhanced, bringing about a comprehensive upgrade.
