NOTE: Read the chapter title.

Several people had made the assumption that “The guy who thought he was the MC” is the actual MC.

He is not.Full novel: Harry Potter: The Angel of Death (Multiverse story) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Harry James Potter is the MC.

I repeat: HARRY IS THE MAIN CHARACTER, THE PROTAGONIST, THE HERO OF THIS STORY, ETC.

Thank you.

Now to the actual chapter:

When he finally woke up, his eyes were blurry, and he couldn’t see anything.

“Where the hell am I?!

Is this a dream, or did I kick the bucket?

Am I going blind?!”

His last memories were not exactly encouraging.

Driving through a construction barrier on the highway while twenty kilometers over the speed limit and half drunk was definitely not a recipe for waking up safe and sound.

His hand fumbled blindly across the bedside table until he found a pair of glasses.

The moment he put them on, the world snapped into focus.

A small, unfamiliar room greeted him: a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, broken toys and comics scattered across the floor.

The door had a cat flap built into the bottom for some reason.

His gaze slid past it and landed on the cage sitting atop the desk.

Inside was a magnificent white owl glaring at him with open hostility while violently rattling the bars with its beak.

“What the actual fuck?!”

He jerked backward so hard he nearly fell off the bed.

Only then did he notice his voice sounded much younger.

His eyes widened.

“WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!”

He grabbed at himself in panic, staring down at thin arms and tiny hands.

Definitely a teenager.

A small one too, bony enough that his wrists looked fragile.

Black hair fell over his forehead.

“And if I find a mirror,” he muttered shakily, “I’m gonna have green eyes, aren’t I?”

Then realization slowly dawned on his face.

“No!

That’s ridiculous!

Then this must be a dream, right?” He pinched himself, and when the pain hit, he began to laugh hysterically.

“I died!

I fucking died and now I’m Harry Potter!

I got isekai’d, motherfucker!”

He doubled over laughing so hard he nearly fell.

“Oh my God.

Oh my God.” He wheezed, wiping tears from his eyes.

“I am the idiot who crashed a flying car into a tree, got manipulated by literally everyone around him, and walked into danger every single year.

How the hell did this guy survive Voldemort?”

The owl screeched furiously.

“Oh, shut up.” He sneered at her.

“God, even the bird’s annoying.”

He jumped to his feet and began pacing around the tiny room, practically vibrating with manic excitement.

“This is insane.

Actual magic.

Actual Hogwarts.” He grabbed at his hair, laughing again.

“Do you understand what this means?

I hit the fucking jackpot!”

Then he stopped and his expression twisted into disgust as he looked around properly.

“This dump though… Christ.” He kicked aside an old toy car.

“How did this loser live like this?”

Another kick sent a comic sliding under the bed.

“Pathetic.

The famous Harry Potter sleeping in a kiddie room full of broken trash.”

He shrugged and walked to the desk, nearly tripping over the toys scattered on the floor, and started rummaging through the drawers.

“There’s got to be money somewhere.

Gold coins.

Vault keys.

Some of the Potter inheritance bullshit.” He paused.

“Wait.”

He looked at his reflection in the darkened window.

Messy black hair.

Thin face.

Bright green eyes behind round glasses.

Tiny shoulders.

Bony arms.

A body so underfed he looked a few years younger than the age he is supposed to be.

“Hedwig’s here…” he muttered, glancing at the owl.

“So this has to be after first year.”

His grin widened.

“I’m Harry freaking Potter.”

He pointed dramatically at himself in the reflection.

“Okay, first thing’s first.

We fix this tragic little orphan look.

Hit the gym eventually.

Learn magic.

Abuse magic.” His grin widened further.

“And girls.”

He pointed at himself dramatically.

“The Boy-Who-Lived?

Please.” He spread his arms grandly.

“More like the Boy-Who’s-About-To-Live-Very-Well.”

He flopped onto the bed, hands behind his head.

“Hermione?

Easy.

Cho?

Easy.

Ginny is practically a freebie.” He barked out another laugh.

“Hell, with fame and magic I could probably pull half the castle.”

Hedwig screeched again, louder this time, violently flapping her wings inside the cage.

“Oh, don’t act offended.

They’re fictional characters.” He waved dismissively.

“People get weirdly moral about this stuff, but come on.

None of this was real where I came from.”

He sat up suddenly, eyes gleaming greedily.

“And the knowledge advantage…”

His breathing quickened.

“I know everything.

Sirius Black.

Pettigrew.

Horcruxes.” He snapped his fingers.

“I can play this entire world like a game.”

He started pacing again.

“Dumbledore?

Manipulate him.

Snape?

Use him.

The Weasleys?

Dump them, useless beggars.

Malfoy?

The rich idiot could be useful.

Hermione’s basically a walking encyclopedia; just point her at books and let her do the work.”

He laughed under his breath.

“And Voldemort?”

He cracked his knuckles dramatically.

“Please.

That noseless freak got beaten by a teenager.”

He stopped in front of the window again, staring smugly at his own reflection.

“Honestly, Potter wasted his life.

If I had all this from the start?” He laughed.

“Easy mode.”

He pointed at himself.

“You know what the best part is?

Everyone already loves me before I’ve done anything.”

Hedwig slammed herself violently against the cage bars.

“Shh.” He glared at her.

“You annoying bird.

I’m getting rid of you sooner or later.”

The owl let out another furious screech.

He ignored her completely.

“I know every secret in this world.

Every hidden room.

Every villain.

I could become richer than Malfoy before graduation.”

His grin slowly sharpened into something uglier.

“Hell… why stop there?”

He sat on the chair, sitting cross-legged as he thought aloud.

“There’s mind control magic here.

Love potions.

Memory spells.” He chuckled darkly.

“Wizard society is actually insane.

You can literally rewrite people and everyone acts like it’s normal.”

He leaned back.

“And the best part?

Nobody questions the hero.”

For a moment, he just sat there smiling to himself.

Then his expression twisted with annoyance.

“Though honestly, Harry himself was such a waste.”

He mocked dramatically:

“‘Oh nooo, I don’t want fame.'” He pitched his voice higher.

“‘Oh nooo, I just want my family.'”

He spat on the floor.

“Moron.”

His lip curled in disgust.

“You had power, money, influence, and a free pass to do almost anything.”

He laughed bitterly.

“And you spent your time playing the martyr because you wanted a fucking family?”

He shook his head slowly.

“What a useless idiot.”

The room suddenly became freezing cold.

His smile faltered.

“…What?”

A strange pressure pressed against the back of his mind, faint at first but quickly growing sharper.

He didnt feel pain at first, just the growing pressure.

Then came the rage.

Pure rage.

Get out.

The voice was quiet, young, and trembling.

He blinked.

“…Excuse me?”

GET OUT OF MY BODY.

Agony exploded behind his eyes.

“Ah— what the hell?!”

He stumbled sideways, crashing into the desk.

Memories flashed violently through his mind.

Cold, lonely memories: a dark and cold cupboard under the stairs, Dudley laughing while other children joined in to chase him, Vernon screaming with spit flying from his mouth, Petunia glaring at him like he was something rotten.

Then warmth: Hagrid smiling while giving him a cage with a beautiful owl, Ron grinning nervously on the Hogwarts Express, Hermione showing him a new book she found in the library, Hedwig landing proudly on his shoulder.

Then came the grief.

So much grief.

A woman with bright red hair falling to the ground.

Green light.

Cold laughter.

“STOP IT!” he screamed.

The lightbulb overhead flickered violently, dimming and brightening in rapid bursts.

Hedwig screeched so loudly it hurt his ears.

You want to hurt them.

The voice sounded louder now.

Stronger.

They’re people.

“They’re fictional characters!” he roared back, clutching his head.

“You aren’t real!

None of this is real!”

The answer came instantly.

Then why are you scared?

His breath caught.

For one horrifying second, he felt another hand moving his fingers.

His right hand twitched against his will.

“No.” Panic entered his voice for the first time.

“No no no—”

Leave.

His knees slammed into the floor.

“Stop—!” he snarled, gripping his skull hard enough to hurt.

“You’re not real!”

LEAVE MY BODY!

The room shook.

Outside, something exploded with a crack.

Then another.

Several streetlights on Privet Drive burst one after another, plunging parts of the street into darkness.

Hedwig screeched wildly inside her cage, feathers puffed up in panic.

“You’re fictional!” he screamed back desperately.

“You’re not a person!

You’re just—”

LEAVE!

The voice hit him like a hammer.

His vision blurred instantly.

For a split second, he wasn’t Harry Potter anymore.

He was back inside the car.

Rain hammered against the windshield in uneven bursts, the wipers smearing water instead of clearing it.

The inside of the vehicle reeked of alcohol so strongly it made his stomach turn.

Empty bottles rolled across the backseat every time the car swerved, glass clinking softly together.

A half-empty beer can sat in the cup holder beside him.

Music blared from the speakers.

His hands were loose on the wheel.

Then the headlights flooded the road ahead.

Orange construction signs.

Concrete barriers rushing toward him far too fast.

For one frozen second, his drunken brain failed to understand what he was seeing.

Then panic hit.

He jerked the steering wheel violently.

Tires screamed against wet asphalt.

And then came the impact.

Metal folded inward with a deafening shriek, and something cracked.

Pain exploded through his entire body as the windshield shattered across him in glittering fragments.

Blood poured down the side of his face, warm and sticky, while twisted steel trapped him inside the wreckage like a coffin.

The world rang.

He tried to breathe and tasted blood, then he saw someone standing outside the ruined windshield.

A man.

The figure was wrong.

Not twisted or monstrous in some obvious way.

Worse.

It simply wasn’t meant to fit inside human understanding.

His eyes slid off it whenever he tried to focus, like his brain physically refused to process what he was seeing.

He could feel it looking at him.

And in that instant, every excuse he had ever made for himself to excuse his horrible actions died silently in his throat.

His drunk driving, his cruelty, his selfishness, all the bad things he has done.

It knew all of it.

Terror unlike anything he had ever felt seized him whole.

The figure took a single step closer to the shattered windshield.

Lightning flashed overhead, illuminating the figure for less than a heartbeat—

His mind failed to comprehend what he saw.

And everything went black.

***

12-year-old Harry James Potter gasped for air.

His entire body trembled violently as he remained collapsed on the floor, barely catching himself with shaking hands.

Sweat soaked his clothes, cold and clammy against his skin.

For several long seconds, he could do nothing except breathe.

Then Hedwig cried out.

Harry’s head snapped toward the cage.

“Hedwig—!”

He scrambled across the floor so fast he nearly slipped, fumbling with the cage latch using trembling fingers.

The moment the door opened, the owl burst free and immediately pressed herself against him, spreading her wings around his shoulders protectively.

Harry wrapped his arms around her and broke.

Sobs tore out of him violently as he buried his face in her feathers.

Someone had tried to steal his body.

Some man from another world.

A world where Harry was apparently nothing more than a fictional character in a children’s book.

One where all his struggles and pain were the product of a middle-aged woman’s imagination.

The stranger’s memories made Harry feel sick.

Harry tightened his grip around Hedwig.

“I am real,” he whispered shakily.

The words sounded small and fragile at first.

Then he repeated them.

“I am real.”

His breathing slowly steadied.

“So what if somewhere else I’m a character in a book?” His voice cracked.

“I’m still real.

We all are.”

Ron was real, Hermione was real, his parents had been real.

Harry buried his face deeper into Hedwig’s feathers while the owl gently rubbed her head against his head, comforting her human as best she could.

“Shit.

Shit.

SHIT!”

The figure paced frantically through the darkness, clawing at his own hair hard enough to tear strands free.

“This was supposed to be basic Harry fucking Potter!” he screamed into the void.

“The easy route!

An easy harvest!”

The surrounding darkness twisted with his emotions, rippling like black water.

“But nooo…” He laughed hysterically, voice cracking.

“This time I just had to fuck up.”

He kicked at the empty void beneath his feet.

“Get a random chuuni idiot killed, shove him into Harry Potter’s body, give him a garbage-tier growth System, let him struggle and mature and absorb power for a few years…” He spread his arms wildly.

“Then eat his soul once it ripens.

Simple.

I’ve done this with countless delusional morons already across dozens of worlds.”

His expression twisted into fury.

“But this fucking time—”

He slammed both hands against his face.

“—I mixed worlds.”

A heavy silence followed.

The figure slowly lowered his hands, breathing unevenly.

“This isn’t canon Harry.”

The words came out almost as a whisper.

“This isn’t the weak little story-world version of Harry Potter.” Fear entered his voice then.

“That soul…”

He swallowed.

“What the hell is that soul?”

He had felt it, something on Harry’s soul, at first it looked like an ordinary wizard’s soul, but then it refused to be overwritten, it had fought back, and then that thing showed up.

He froze as he felt a presence entering the space.

“Impossible.”

This was his private dimension.

His System Core.

A space existing between worlds and outside of reality itself, accessible only to him and those tied to his authority.

No one should have been able to enter, yet something had.

He swallowed as he felt his barriers, strong enough to keep gods strong enough to shatter entire planets at bay, being completely ignored.

Like cobwebs before a hurricane.

The darkness trembled and split open soundlessly somewhere behind him.

The figure went pale.

“No…”

The presence moved closer.

It wasn’t fast, it did not need to, as reality itself seemed to distort around it.

The System-space flickered violently as entire sections of the dimension simply ceased functioning.

Error messages exploded across the void.

[WARNING — Higher Authority Detected]

[WARNING — Conceptual Stability Failing]

[WARNING — ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR—]

“FUCK!”

The figure bolted instantly, sprinting through the darkness in blind terror.

If anyone had seen him now, they would never believe this trembling coward was the same being that casually fed on human souls across countless worlds.

What followed him was infinitely worse than himself, worse than any devil.

It was something that even demons and gods feared, for every single thing in existence instinctively feared standing before absolute judgment.

The figure stumbled, nearly collapsing as the presence drew closer.

“No no no no—” His voice broke into panicked sobbing.

“I didn’t do anything that bad!

They were just mortals!

Souls reincarnate anyway!

I gave them power first!”

The void behind him grew brighter with the kind of light that existed before stars were born.

The figure screamed and ran faster but deep down, he already knew the truth.

There was nowhere left to run.

Author’s Note: So here we go, Chapter 1.

A chuni gets yeeted to Harry’s body, then Harry kicks him out, and something (no spoilers) awaits him, and then that very something goes after the ROB, who is now regretting all his life choices.

ROB: Please don’t eat me!

Something(?): Karma sure is a bitch.

What did you think?

I tried to make the chuni as loathable as possible without it being crack, just a very selfish prick who deserves an arse beating or twenty.
