Hearing his call, Breya did not hesitate for a second and rushed to Lorin’s side.

“What is it, my darling Lorin?”

my illness can be cured…” Lorin’s voice trembled.

Though he tried his best to suppress it, he simply could not control his emotions.

Over seven years—nearly eight!

Ever since he transmigrated into the wizarding world, he had been plagued by this book’s blood-sucking behavior, completely unable to resolve it.

His body was now weak, prone to dizziness and nausea.

By the time he reached his graduation year, winning the dueling championship had been even harder than in his fourth year!

There was no helping it; his body was just too frail.

Even though Lorin’s magical training was impeccable, his physical movements often failed to keep pace with his tactical awareness during duels.

Fortunately, Lorin possessed overpowered spells like an exceptionally strong Shield Charm and a mass Body-Bind Curse.

He had even invented a mass Disarming Charm and contributed it to the Beauxbatons library.

He had only managed to retain his championship title before graduation through the sheer, crushing advantage of his magical knowledge!

Now, with the solution right before his eyes, it was only natural that Lorin could not contain his excitement.

If he could train his vitality and blood to burn as hot as a furnace…

Blood-sucking?

By then, it would probably feel like a minor mosquito bite—completely negligible.

“Darling Lorin, don’t scare me.

What happened?

Tell me slowly, there’s no rush.”

Breya hugged Lorin, quietly waiting for him to calm down.

“I lost my composure, Mother.” Lorin closed his eyes, leaning against the wall to steady himself, and took a deep breath.

“Mother, I think I’ve found a way to cure this strange illness of mine.”

“What way?”

Breya did not think her son was talking nonsense.

In her eyes, whatever Lorin said was bound to have a solid basis.

Even if it wasn’t guaranteed to work, Lorin would certainly have his own reasoning and logic.

“By strengthening my blood and vitality.

As long as my life force exceeds the amount of blood being drained, won’t I be perfectly fine?”

“But, little Lorin, didn’t Croke invite several of those so-called martial arts masters from the East a few years ago?

They all said your body was too weak to practice martial arts…”

“I know, Mother.”

Lorin’s eyes darted about, and with a flick of his wand, he conjured a scroll of parchment.

Written neatly in Latin on the parchment was the Knight’s Breathing Technique from the book of Gryffindor: *The Heavenly Scripture*!

Considering credibility and his mother’s reading habits, Lorin had translated the ancient runes into Latin for Breya to read.

“Why would I report my own darling son?” Breya muttered, though her eyes were already scanning the parchment Lorin had conjured.

“Blood willingly given by a unicorn, Thestral wings, giant’s blood…”

“A goblin’s brain, Acromantula venom, a fire dragon’s spine…”

“It even needs Phoenix tears?

Fortunately, our great-grandfather’s generation saved two bottles…”

“The older the ingredients, the better the effect, and the less rejection the body will experience…”

Breya’s tightly knit brow gradually relaxed, and she began stroking her chin thoughtfully.

“Little Lorin, this looks like a Knight’s Breathing Technique from the Carolingian era.”

“Ah?

Our family has Knight’s Breathing Techniques?”

“Of course we do.

But the four breathing techniques preserved by our Montmorency family all require a very strong physical foundation to begin with, unlike this one, which has absolutely no entry barrier…”

“Furthermore, while this one seems to have a higher ceiling, the sheer difficulty of practicing it means it’s almost impossible to master…”

Breya closed her eyes and shook her head, looking somewhat disappointed.

“It’s alright, Mother.

When I go to Hogwarts, I might find other ways.”

Lorin wasn’t disheartened, and instead comforted his disappointed mother.

“I only meant that we can’t train people in large numbers with this.

I never said I couldn’t afford to provide for my own darling son!

Why on earth would you need to look for a solution at Hogwarts?”

Breya gave Lorin a strange look and went back to calculating on her own:

“One liter of blood from a fourteen-hundred-year-old sacred unicorn…”

“Thestral wings…

we actually have quite a few of those stored away.

It requires two…”

“Giant’s blood…

Good Lord, who would collect such useless blood?

But we do seem to have five jars of Storm Titan blood…”

“And the brain of the Goblin King Hercules, obtained from the Vatican back in the day.

It should be about two thousand years old by now.

It’ll have to do, I suppose…”

“A fire dragon’s spine…”

“The spine of a six-hundred-year-old young Red Dragon should work too.

I’m sorry you have to settle for that, my darling Lorin…”

…

After carefully verifying the list of over a hundred ingredients multiple times, Breya summoned Raynt.

“Old Raynt, take this list and fetch these items from the Montmorency vault.” Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.

“Madam, these items are indeed a bit…”

Raynt scanned the list Breya handed him, shaking his head with a slight look of difficulty.

“Madam Breya, these are far too precious.

Furthermore, once they are used, they are gone for good.

Many of these magical beasts have even gone extinct now…”

“Old Raynt, this concerns little Lorin’s recovery.

I will speak to Croke about it.” Breya replied calmly, her tone carrying an unquestionable firmness.

“This…”

“Since Master Lorin needs them, then there is no reason to refuse.”

A flash of joy crossed Old Raynt’s eyes.

His aging legs suddenly moved with a vigor that defied his years as he quickly headed toward the basement of the Montmorency estate.

“Just wait a moment, Lorin darling.

Do you need Mother to help you?”

“I’ll pass on that, Mother.

Just help me put them in the bath, and I’ll soak by myself…”

As if recalling some unpleasant memory, Lorin declined his mother’s company with a stiff expression.

“Gasp, is little Lorin shy?”

Breya giggled, seemingly recalling an amusing memory.

“That day, Mother only left her hair conditioner inside.

I really didn’t expect you to have already started bathing, little Lorin…”

“But that was the first time you ever screamed.

It was so adorable!”

“Mother!”

Lorin looked helplessly at his laughing mother, unable to do anything about her.

His mother was perfect in every way, except for her habit of teasing him.

“Madam Breya, Master Lorin.”

Raynt returned from the basement to the living room with a speed that belied his age.

“I have packed all the ingredients.

Shall I place them in the bathtub upstairs?”

“Yes, put them in the bath in the large washroom on the third floor.

Little Lorin needs a relatively large amount.”

“Very well, Madam.

I shall go right away.”

Raynt instinctively wanted to call two maids, but he raised his hand and lowered it again.

It was better to handle this matter personally.

Those servants were clumsy; he couldn’t risk them ruining things…

Exhibiting strength that completely defied his years, Raynt personally hoisted the massive bundle onto his shoulder and quickly went upstairs…
