Professor Flitwick, who possessed goblin blood, stood on a raised platform explaining the wand movements and pronunciation for the Levitation Charm.

Meanwhile, Aine, seated below, looked around at the classroom’s layout.

The arrangement of a classroom reflected some of the professor’s tastes and personality.Full novel: Harry Potter: The Retired Archmage — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The entire classroom was located on the first floor.

Its circular structure made the classroom resemble an arena, with the most eye-catching point being Professor Flitwick standing on the raised platform.

The entrance and exit were to the professor’s left, while the students’ seats formed layers of outward-expanding waves in a circular arrangement.

Behind the students was a circular glass wall, with the sections of glass connected by the castle’s supporting pillars.

The classroom’s colors were clearly divided between brownish red, silver white, and bright red.

The predominantly silver-white room was furnished with distinctly brown-red furniture, while bright-red carpets connected the walkways between the students’ seats.

On both sides of the student seating area stood two stone knight statues holding swords.

The entire classroom looked like a sacred arena.

This style was very much in line with Professor Flitwick’s personality.

When he was young, Professor Flitwick had been an outstanding wizard duelist, and the experiences from his dueling career had influenced him.

As a result, his Charms lessons were not only concise but also filled with practical techniques.

Combined with his humorous tone, the entire class was filled with laughter.

This lesson mainly covered the pronunciation of spells, the wand movements used when casting them, and an introduction to the spells they would learn throughout the school year.

Aine gave it a thumbs-up.

Teaching actual spells during the very first lesson, just like in the movies, was probably a way of trying to get these students killed a little faster.

Even though modern spells had been modified to be sufficiently safe, they still could not completely prevent magical backlash when a spell failed.

Normally, a failed spell could be counteracted by using twice the original amount of magic power to offset the backlash.

That was nothing major.

Who knew what kind of scene would appear when they mumbled their spells with unclear pronunciation?

That’s right, it could turn into “Charging Bull!”

After hearing about this, Aine immediately laughed so hard that he collapsed onto his dormitory bed.

A spell that was originally meant to be auxiliary had somehow been turned into an offensive spell.

Although Aine had already learned the Levitation Charm, Professor Flitwick’s lesson still benefited him greatly, as he picked up various techniques with ease.

When the Charms lesson was halfway through, Aine finally could not resist raising his hand to ask a question.

Professor Flitwick nodded to indicate that he could ask, and Aine stood up.

“Professor!

How can we turn the Levitation Charm, whose original and singular magical property can only make objects float, into a non-directional area-of-effect Levitation Charm?”

Professor Flitwick clearly had not expected a student to think of such a question.

“This is something you will learn when you reach the higher years.

You don’t need to understand it for now.

Aine, come to my office after class.”

After saying that, Professor Flitwick gestured for Aine to sit down and continued the lesson.

The academic workload for first-year students at Hogwarts was fairly relaxed.

There was one class in the morning and one in the afternoon, with each class lasting about two and a half hours.

After classes, the students were free to do whatever they wanted.

After Charms class ended, Aine went to Professor Flitwick’s office.

Professor Flitwick’s office was extremely neat.

The most eye-catching features were a bookshelf occupying an entire wall and a display of trophies covering another.

With Professor Flitwick’s permission, Aine cast the “Levitation Charm” inside the office.

His excellent magical control, steady wand movement, and clear pronunciation made the Levitation Charm exceed Professor Flitwick’s expectations perfectly.

Professor Flitwick could not help but shout,

“Perfect Levitation Charm!

Ten points to Hufflepuff!” Visit novelping.com for the full chapter.

Then, in the Great Hall, the four hourglasses used to keep track of the house points reacted.

Ten yellow gems appeared inside Hufflepuff’s hourglass.

The ringing sound of the points being added caused the Hufflepuff students who were eating to spit out the milk in their mouths and turn toward the hourglass, discussing among themselves who had earned the points.

Completely unaware of this, Aine was still in Professor Flitwick’s office receiving Professor Flitwick’s guidance.

After lunch, Aine continued on to his first Herbology lesson with his own Head of House.

The very first lesson was about how to care for and cultivate Calming Grass.

This could also be considered his Head of House’s personal addition to the curriculum, making it easier for the Hufflepuffs to take care of the magical plants in their common room.

After all, among the four houses, only Hufflepuff’s common room was filled with magical plants that needed to be tended.

That was why, among all the Hogwarts graduates throughout the years, Hufflepuffs had the best Herbology skills.

In the domestic herbal market, Hufflepuff graduates held a sixty-percent share, while in the international market, they held fifty percent.

Historically, Hufflepuff had produced the greatest number of Herbology Masters and Potions Masters.

It could be said that Hufflepuff graduates not only formed the foundation of the magical world’s ordinary workforce, but also supported the foundation of the materials market.

This lesson was shared by Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw.

There were relatively few girls and quite a lot of boys among this year’s Ravenclaws, so Aine was more than happy to interact with these eagle boys.

After all, these eccentric Ravenclaw boys were all geniuses in one field or another.

For example, Tucker Rhine had already been capable of brewing advanced potions before even attending Hogwarts.

His greatest specialty was Random Enhancement Potion, and the enhancement rate he could achieve was still above fifteen percent.

Therefore, Aine deliberately teamed up with him.

While his Head of House was teaching, Aine secretly smeared some Night Flower essence onto Tucker’s wizarding robes.

The moment he finished, he saw a pair of sky-blue eyes narrowing as they scrutinized him.

Aine also looked back at him in confusion.
