The Burrow

The stifling summer heat made staying indoors for even a single second feel like torture.

Only under the shade of the lush English oak at the edge of the yard was there any semblance of a cool breeze.

Aside from Percy, who was still playing the prim scholar in his room studying, the other six Weasley children—Charlie, two pairs of twins, and their only daughter—were all gathered beneath the tree.

“Tris, you’re definitely cheating!” Thirteen-year-old, stockily built Fred threw his cards down, tearing off the paper strips that had been stuck all over his face.

“Exactly!” Beside him, George mirrored his twin’s actions almost instantly.

“Otherwise, how do you keep winning? Ron, back us up here.”

Eleven-year-old Ron, whose face was covered in even more paper strips, had to lift a few of them just to cast a suspicious look at Tris—his twin brother.

Though he didn’t say anything, after losing all afternoon, he was starting to have his doubts too.

“Merlin’s pants! We’re blood brothers, and you actually suspect me?” Sporting the same signature red hair, but with handsome, refined features that made him look like he belonged in a completely different art style from his brothers, Tris slammed his cards onto the ground.

“You’re breaking my heart! Charlie, Ginny, come on, set them straight. Do I look like the type who would cheat?”

Charlie, who was flipping through a copy of *The Care of Mother Dragons*, merely glanced up, chuckled, and said nothing.

Ginny, however, was holding a sweet melon and scooping it out with a spoon, her face bright with joy.

Hearing her seventh brother’s words, she thought about it seriously and said to her other three brothers,

“Tris has always been smarter than you guys. I don’t think it’s strange at all that he keeps winning.”

“What do you mean he’s always been smarter than us!” Fred grumbled immediately.

“Ginny, just because Tris plays with you and tells you stories all the time doesn’t mean you should take his side.”

“Should I take yours instead? All you ever do is play pranks on me, Fred,” Ginny said, wrinkling her small nose.

She was a very pretty girl, and the gesture looked playful and endearing.

“Uh…” Fred stammered, his eyes darting around.

He quickly pointed to his twin beside him.

“I’m not Fred, he is! I’m George!”

“Don’t try that. You’re Fred, and Ginny was definitely talking about you,” George said, refusing to play along this time.

Seeing his partner-in-crime betray him, Fred let out a dramatic cry and pounced.

The two of them instantly fell into a scuffle, rolling around on the grass within seconds.

“Alright, break it up. You’ll get your clothes dirty, and Mum will be furious later,” Charlie advised from the sidelines, though his warning was purely verbal; he didn’t move an inch.

Tris quietly let out a sigh of relief.

He had slipped by once again.

Tristan Beerlyes Weasley.

The seventh direct male descendant of the Weasley family, and Ron’s twin brother.

Unsurprisingly, he was a transmigrator.

In his previous life, while watching a short video at a hair salon, the stylist had pointed out that he had dandruff.

Tris had replied, “That’s because you didn’t wash it properly.”

By the time Tris regained consciousness, he was a tiny baby who couldn’t even speak properly.

Even worse, he had become the twin brother of the famous Ron Weasley—the Savior’s ultimate best friend, the future Minister for Magic’s useless husband, the chess master of Hogwarts, the spider-phobe, the flying-car joyrider of the wizarding world, the Parseltongue parrot, the slug-swallower, the greatest Gryffindor Keeper, Lavender’s little love pup, the love potion connoisseur, and the destroyer of Horcruxes.

When Tris first confirmed his identity, he was both thrilled and terrified.

He was thrilled because he had transmigrated into the magical world and was now a member of the Weasleys, who would play a crucial role in the late game.

He was terrified because being a Weasley carried an immense amount of danger.

His sweet little sister Ginny was almost possessed to death by Voldemort’s Horcrux; his loving, eccentric father Arthur nearly died from a snake bite; his handsome oldest brother was scarred by a werewolf, leaving him disfigured with lifelong side effects; and of the mischievous twins, one would die, while the other would never again be able to cast a Patronus Charm, having lost his source of joy…

Watching these events unfold on a screen was completely different from experiencing them firsthand as a member of the family.

Tris couldn’t even bear to imagine how devastated his mother would be when she saw Fred’s body.

He had to protect his family!

But that was easier said than done.

Voldemort was known as the most powerful Dark Wizard in history!

Originally, Tris had no good options.

Fighting Voldemort required more than just clever planning; he also needed formidable personal strength.

Yet, Tris lacked the means to improve himself.

There were plenty of wizards in the magical world who sought power—especially those in Slytherin—but how many actually succeeded in becoming truly powerful?

When Tris first arrived, he didn’t have a golden finger.

To grow stronger, he desperately needed resources.

The Weasleys were an old wizarding family, but they had been on a downward spiral for years.

They owned an ancestral manor, but because they couldn’t afford to maintain the massive Muggle-Repelling Charms and protective wards, they had to seal the entire estate and live in the Burrow.

Aside from ordinary daily necessities, there were no magical texts, ancient scrolls, or primeval heritages in their home.

Tris had asked around indirectly.

It wasn’t that the Weasleys didn’t have these things; they were just locked inside the ancestral manor.

Fortunately, his parents hadn’t sold them off for Gold Galleons.

But to unseal the ancestral manor, they first had to solve the family’s severe financial plight.

As for quick ways to make money, Tris knew plenty from reading the penal code in his previous life.

But in the wizarding world, very few of those methods were viable.

Wizards had their basic needs met, but that was all.

Most daily necessities could be produced by wizards themselves.

The lucrative avenues of commerce were almost all protected by technical barriers.

Methods like the ones Tris had in mind to make quick cash did exist, but they all required powerful personal magic to back them up.

To make quick money, he needed power; to quickly gain power, he needed to unlock the ancestral home; to unlock the ancestral home, he needed a large sum of money.

Well, look at that.

A closed loop!

Tris had tried to give his parents suggestions to make some extra money or win bonuses.

It did have some effect.

For instance, when he was five, he learned that the Ministry of Magic was still using owls to deliver internal mail, leaving the offices in a chaotic mess.

He immediately suggested using enchanted paper airplanes or enchanted paper mice running through pipes instead.

He remembered seeing similar scenes in the movies, though he didn’t know when or which clever child had originally proposed the idea in canon.

That didn’t matter.

Now, that clever child was Tris.

The first half of how things unfolded matched Tris’s expectations.

The Ministry awarded Arthur a handsome bonus.

But the second half was a different story…

Subconsciously, Tris glanced toward the corner of the yard.

Beneath a tarp, the outline of a car was faintly visible.

It was a Ford Anglia that Arthur had acquired from somewhere and completely modified.

It was the exact same car that Ron would drive to Hogwarts in his second year, eventually running wild and free in the Forbidden Forest.

Originally, that car rattled and squeaked everywhere except for the horn.

But thanks to that bonus, it was now a fully functional, excellent magical vehicle, complete with the hyper-speed capabilities of the Knight Bus.

“I really can’t carry this team,” Tris sighed.

“What? Carry what?” Ron asked, looking bewildered as he pulled the last paper strip off his face.

“Nothing, just talking to myself,” Tris said, shaking his head.

“Oh.” Ron glanced at the twins, who had already run off, and then at Charlie and Ginny, neither of whom had any intention of joining in.

Knowing the card game was over, he asked, “Want to play chess?”

He didn’t actually like Tris’s company all that much.

Though they were twins, they were fraternal twins—a term the Weasley family only learned after Tris was born.

Ron’s face resembled their father’s, while Tris looked more like their mother, Molly, who had been quite slender and beautiful in her youth.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have given birth to a girl as pretty as Ginny.

Not only did they look different, but their personalities were also polar opposites.

Until a few days ago, when Tris suddenly started pestering his brothers to play cards, he had spent almost all his time alone, reading books and newspapers.

Compared to Fred and George, Ron felt like he had a fake twin.

“No way!” Tris shook his head decisively.

He had no desire to play chess with Ron.

The future chess master of Hogwarts was already showing his talent, and Tris was no match for him.

“I’ll spot you a pawn,” Ron offered.

“No!”

“A bishop, then?”

“No!”

“How about a knight?”

“I wouldn’t play you even if you spotted me a queen,” Tris rolled his eyes, standing up.

“I’m going for a run. I haven’t finished my exercise quota for today.”

“Why did you suddenly take such a liking to exercising?” Ron asked, puzzled.

“You never cared about this before. We’re wizards. What’s the point of physical exercise?”

“You don’t understand,” Tris said, shaking his head.

“This is for a better future.”

Ron looked utterly blank, failing to comprehend Tris’s words.

He couldn’t see what was hovering right in front of Tris’s eyes.
