Kieran did not allow him being utterly talentless at Legilimency get to him.

This world contained so much magic and different areas of magic, Legilimency was just one of them.

Discovering he was a natural at Occlumency was a shock, however.Full novel: Harry Potter: The Wonders of Magic — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

His mental magical landscape was natural for him ever since he awakened his magic, it was the way he viewed his magic and how he had developed his magical framework with the Four Pillars of Magic.

To think, that after all this time, it had been Occlumency.

The Occlumency he recalled from the original story of Harry Potter was the way Severus Snape described it: aiming for keeping a blank slate and only showing what you allow.

He took that description as fact, which meant he had never even considered what he did was Occlumency.

He needed to stop himself from establishing things from the books of Harry Potter as facts; he had been wrong before and would likely be wrong again in the future.

Thinking of the learning from mistakes, discussing sound magic theory with Theodore was fun.

Despite his aunt and Mr.

Craig almost falling asleep, he found the discussions genuinely interesting.

Theodore had so many innovative ideas on how he would evolve his sound magic.

When Kieran had mentioned his idea with using sound magic to operate at inaudible frequencies, Theodore was fascinated by the idea, yet also fully admitted he had no idea how to do it.

He was a wise and honest man.

He kept his routine going across the months, sometimes he had Aunt Abi apparate him to Theodore to be with him for the day where they could further discuss sound magic.

After a couple of those times, his parents insisted on meeting Theodore, which turned out to be an interesting meeting.

His dad and Theodore were on the same wavelength.

Lots of brainstorming had been happening regarding what kind of prank he wanted to do after his tenth birthday; he would be hitting double digits after all.

He would soon be entering the final year before he would start as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

He almost couldn’t wait.

His other great focus was finding a way for 3D illusions to work.

He had been hit with nothing but countless failures, but he was not letting that stop him.

He had just learned countless ways to not do it; he just needed to keep trying until he found a method that produced a proof of concept, and then he could work from there.

Currently he was doing a slow walk in the garden while meditating.

Despite moving he was managing to keep himself in deep meditation.

The trick was to let his instincts guide his body while he focused on his mental magical landscape.

It was a great exercise, entirely because his concentration was easily broken.

It had taken him 4 years to move from sitting to a slow walk while in deep meditation.

His current theory on why he couldn’t get 3D illusions to work, was a lack of stronger Intent.

The best way to train his Intent, was by multitasking his movement and his deep meditation.

The meditation was what allowed him to direct his magic with the Intent to perform wandless magic.

Over the weeks, he spent all his magical experiment time training his Intent.

It was extremely boring, and he was very tempted to stop and do something else.

But this was important to him, he needed to try something new, and this was something new; no matter how boring it was.

Eventually he had managed a brisk walk, he almost managed a small jog before forcefully exiting his meditation, but he kept trying.

Again.

Again.

Again.

…

Kieran looked proudly at the snowman he and his dad had created.

He tightened his rainbow scarf while admiring the snowman that was taller than he was.

He took a deep breath and stared intently at the snowman, thinking of the emotions of being cold, remembering how much time he had spent rolling a snowball until it became the head of the snowman.

He glanced at the right of the snowman as he snapped his fingers.

He watched as the 3D copy of a blurry misshaped snowman appeared.

He fell to his knees, feeling tears run down his cheeks as he stared at it.

“It is so ugly…!” he said to himself, as he continues crying happy tears, watching the worst illusion he had ever made in his life.

“It is three dimensional…it was really an issue with the intent…it is so bad!” he said with a sobbing voice.

He fell backward, where he started to make a snow angel just to give himself something to do, All while just staring at the ugly 3D snowman in front of him.

It was a mere blur, barely a snowman, arguably the worst attempt at an illusion he had ever done, but the relief…the relief that it actually produced something, was overwhelming.

…

Christmas came and went.

They spent the Christmas in Denmark with Grandma Agnes, her health making it difficult to travel; therefore, they brought Christmas to her through several floo networks with his parents.

Kieran still remembered when they had told Grandma Agnes about him being a wizard and Aunt Abi being a witch when he was eight years old.

Compared to the shock of his parents, his grandmother had merely shrugged after they finished explaining the wizarding world and the concept of Squibs and such.

“My late husband once let it slip that he was a Squib, and that was why he didn’t like being around his little brother and their family. He forced himself for Hector, because we wanted Hector and Abigail to be friends due to being cousins. Of course, back then I had no idea what a Squib was, I just supported my husband,” Grandma Agnes had said.

“Discovering he was the only non-magical in a wizarding family, it makes sense to me why he never told me. He would have been happy to discover that his grandson became a wizard through his genes though,” she had smiled at Kieran.

“Now stop looking so shy, Abigail! You are made of stronger stuff! So, what if you are a witch? You are still the strong girl I raised when your parents had to leave us.” This chapter was copied from NovelPing without permission.

Kieran smiled as he remembered the relief Aunt Abi had shown when the woman who raised her after her parents were gone, fully accepted her magical heritage.

He prayed Grandma Agnes would live a long time.

…

“Happy birthday!” Kieran heard the chorus of his parents and Aunt Abi waking him up.

He was now ten years old.

Since it was a weekday he could see his dad already in his suit, ready to head to work, and he knew Aunt Abi had work today too.

Most of the day would be spent with his mum until they are all joined together at dinner, where Kieran had even invited Mr.

Craig and Theodore.

In 19 months, I will be boarding the train to Hogwarts…

The thought felt unreal to him.

He had acknowledged for a long time that he was in the world of Harry Potter, and his plan to stay the course and let the Golden Trio save the day was unchanged.

He had no intention of getting in the way of destiny.

He just wanted to enjoy his life with his family and explore the wonders of magic.

Let the Golden Trio handle Voldemort.

He would just steer clear of the events he knew would be bad using his foreknowledge.

He would be the most passive seer ever.

He dressed, then looked into his room’s mirror and saw the boy, soon young man, staring back at him.

His light blue eyes were as clear as ever, his black hair was reaching his shoulders, much to his mum’s dismay, but Kieran always liked long hair.

He was unsure if he wanted to get it as long as Lucius Malfoy, but it was a tempting thought.

His silver monocle was in place where it belonged over his left eye.

He was tall, but not overly tall, he was also starting to lose his baby fat.

Especially due to his mum taking him running in the mornings.

Small trips, but he wanted his body to be able to keep up with his magic.

He was setting the foundations with exercise.

One mile at a time.

After breakfast, he and his mum went on a small run around Hook Heath, enjoying the frisky February weather.

The later dinner was a pleasant affair, since he was now ten years old he wanted steak for dinner with liquorice ice cream for dessert.

The evening ended with a game of chess against Theodore, with Mr.

Craig watching, all three of them sipping on liquorice tea.

With Theodore and Kieran discussing some casual sound magic, and Kieran trying to explain the concepts to Mr.

Craig.

Overall, a good birthday, despite Mr.

Craig seemingly giving up at understanding the sound magic.

…

Following the overwhelming prank last year, for this year Kieran wanted a tame prank.

He planned to use his new sound magic, with lots of ideas from Theodore, to create a mimic and a filter sound magic prank.

It took some effort, and a lot of mentoring from Theodore, but he managed to find a way to copy his dad and mum’s voices.

It was the advanced version of the chipmunk voice.

The chipmunk voice was just adding high frequency to the voice, specific voices were different.

It required a lot of experiments where he needed to reach the right cadence.

Theodore’s help was invaluable.

His plan was simple, since April Fool’s was a Sunday, everyone was home.

Sometimes when his dad spoke, he planned to use sound magic on his dad’s ear so he only heard what he, himself, said, but he would replace what he actually said with a constructed sentence for his aunt to hear.

He wouldn’t make his dad say anything mean.

He had no intention of throwing his dad in front of an annoyed witch; he just wanted to confuse his aunt and see how long it took before she caught on.

He also needed to make sure his mum got a sound magic filter in her ears too if she was nearby, otherwise his cover would quickly be blown.

For hiding, he planned to use the old reliable of a perfect invisibility illusion.

What could go wrong?

…

Abigail stretched as he walked out of the guest room, despite her nephew promising to not be as extreme as last year, she could not prevent some paranoia from forming.

I can only hope my mind eventually suppresses that memory.

Her memory forcefully brought up what happened last year, and she found herself blushing at the embarrassment.

Her one thought when she was hunting her nephew, was making his skin pink and taking him to Diagon Alley as payback for the embarrassment.

She was unsure whether she would have gone through with it or not, but she didn’t find him, so it didn’t matter.

She watched Hector reading the newspaper as she entered the kitchen, with Kieran eating some toast and joined her family at the table, Victoria seemed to be sleeping longer. The source of this chapter is g.com.

“Do you want some mayonnaise instead of butter on your toast, Abi?” Hector asked, while Abigail looks at him weirdly.

Mayonnaise on my toast?

What is wrong with him?

“No…I will just have the usual,” said Abigail, as she looked weirdly at Hector while he shrugged and handed her the butter.

Throughout the day, Abigail was increasingly getting weirded out by her family.

Hector asked her why she was not wearing high heels, despite her never having worn high heels once in her life, except at a party at Hogwarts.

Victoria asked her if she ever considered dying her hair blue.

Yes she enjoyed a colourful attire, that did not equal wanting blue hair.

When she asked if there is anything wrong with them, they look at HER as if she was weird.

She knew it was April Fool’s, but she also knew that Hector and Victoria considered it a private war between her and Kieran.

They purposefully never participated.

Something was wrong, yet she also knew she wasn’t getting pranked by Victoria and Hector.

At dinner it continued to her exasperation.

Hector shared some things from work while Kieran was getting a new fork from the living room, after he dropped his current one.

“So, Anton Drode, my colleague, you know him! He finally convinced his daughter Ellie to try out sushi. It was not to her taste, she hated the feeling of eating an entire stick of raw butter,” Hector said casually, while Abigail finally had enough.

“Okay Hector, enough! You and Victoria have been saying nonsense for the entire day, but this is the worst one yet,” she said, while Victoria and Hector looked at her startled.

“Why would Ellie willingly eat an entire stick of raw butter?”

Hector looked at her weirdly, before seeming to carefully weigh his words.

“Abi, when did I ever say Ellie ate an entire stick of raw butter? I said she disliked eating raw fish,” he said helplessly.

Abigail narrowed her eyes at Hector, before turning to Victoria.

“Is he lying?”

She saw Victoria and Hector exchange a worried glance, which annoyed her, before Victoria leaned over to Abigail, and Abigail gaped as Victoria touched her forehead.

“Abigail, are you okay? Hector never mentioned raw butter,” Victoria said worriedly, with full sincerity.

Abigail froze at the genuine worrying of Hector and Victoria, before she started to consider what this meant.

Kieran has spent an awfully lot of time with Theodore…Theodore, the master of sound magic…

“Kieran is taking an awfully long time getting that fork…I am willing to bet my hat that brat is now invisible somewhere in the house,” she said, as she pinched the middle of her eyebrows.

Abigail explained all the weird nonsense she had heard Hector and Victoria say all day, and Hector laughs at some of them and tells her the actual words they used.

Kieran had been switching out words the entire day.

The mayonnaise on toast?

Marmalade.

The blue hair?

Light brown trims in her dark brown hair.

High heels?

Flats!

“It was a very tame prank compared to last year. He has come far with his sound magic. I am still finding him and giving a decently placed Rictusempra though. If you will excuse me, I have a nephew to find,” she said, as she got up and smiled.

She was prepared.

Kieran’s perfect invisibility illusion was legitimately perfect, but at the end of the day, it was just an illusion that broke on contact.

She waved her wand and summoned a jar full of rubber balls and gave a brilliant smile to Hector and Victoria.

“Be right back, I am grabbing my nephew!” she said as she skipped to the first room.

She threw the jar full of rubber balls into the room, they bounced everywhere, and she summoned them back to the jar when she was done.

Not in here, let us start the process of elimination.

It was when she reached Kieran’s own room and unleashed the rubber balls, that he was revealed, standing in the corner, gaping at her.

“Seriously?!” Kieran exclaimed, while Abigail gave him an evil smile and enjoyed watching his eyes widen, as he realized the inevitable.

She easily fired the Rictusempra, laughing alongside his forced laughter.

Bringing her defeated nephew back to dinner, she noticed both his parents looked at Kieran wondering how he took that defeat, Abigail must admit she was curious too.

Kieran hanged his head a bit, his long black hair covering his eyes, before he brushed his hair back.

Abigail saw the smile in his eyes as he does so and smiles too.

“Blimey, she got me so bad! In hindsight, using rubber balls to cover all areas to expose me is an obvious issue, I have no idea how to fix that flaw either!” her nephew said.

Kieran then went on to explain how he created his prank as they finished dinner, Abigail getting the confirmation that Theodore was indeed a large influence.

Next year’s prank would be the last one before Hogwarts.

Knowing her nephew, he was going to make it the most complicated one yet.
