With the end of the Transfiguration Class, William and the others had no more classes this morning.
However, compared to William’s happiness, the expressions of the others weren’t as good; after all, they had homework.
“I can’t believe Professor McGonagall can turn into a cat.
I was terrified when I saw her suddenly appear in front of me,” Ron said.
This was the fifth time he had recounted this since leaving the classroom.
And the only one who could give a response was still Harry, who was still interested in it.
As for Hermione, she was radiating an aura of gloom.
Although she had successfully turned a match into a needle without an eye before class ended, earning five points for Gryffindor, seeing William’s success beforehand had raised her expectations for herself.
“There are no more classes this morning, and there’s still some time before lunch.
Where are you guys going next?” William asked.
“To the Library.” That was Hermione.
“Back to the dormitory.” That was Ron.
As for Harry, he hesitated for a second and then decided to go back to the dormitory as well.
In any case, the Transfiguration homework didn’t need to be handed in immediately, so he wasn’t in a hurry.
“Alright then, I’ll go to the Library too,” William said.
But while others went to the Library to do homework, William went to find some interesting magic books to read.
He was still looking forward to the Hogwarts Library.
Immediately, the four split into two groups and went their separate ways.
Before long, William and Hermione arrived at the Library.
From the outside, it looked like a small room, but once they entered, they were shocked by the number of books inside.
Even though William had already suspected that an Undetectable Extension Charm had been cast here, he hadn’t expected it to be so large.
But it made sense when he thought about it; after all, Hogwarts housed the largest and most complete collection of magic books in all of Britain and even the whole of Europe.
Especially since Hogwarts was founded, many graduating students had donated books over the years, making the collection even more massive.
“So many books, this must be heaven,” Hermione murmured in shock.
William:???
Whose idea of heaven is a Library?
For a poor student, this would probably be hell.
While William was complaining in his mind, Hermione was already impatient to start reading.
However…
“I think we need to get a library card first,” William said, gesturing for Hermione to look at the older students coming to borrow and return books.
As for classmates of the same year, he really didn’t see a single one.
“You’re right, let’s go quickly.”
Saying this, Hermione pulled William and ran toward the librarian, Madam Pince.
At this moment, the anticipation for new books had Hermione at full capacity.
Even with William in tow, her speed didn’t slow down in the slightest.
Soon, the two arrived before the librarian, Madam Irma Pince.
Madam Pince was a thin Witch with an irritable temper, wearing black Wizard robes.
In terms of appearance, she looked a bit like an undernourished vulture.
But she was a lady who truly loved books.
William couldn’t help but think that if an unprofessional person had been in her place, the books at Hogwarts would have been ruined long ago.
Hearing that William and Hermione were there to get library cards, she warned them in stern terms:
“Borrowing books is fine, but if you damage them in any way, I will make you face the most terrible consequences within my power!”
“Besides that, eating anything, making loud noises, dating, or casting spells in the Library is forbidden…
Sneaking into the Library at night is forbidden, taking books out of the Library without permission is forbidden, and entering the Restricted Section is forbidden unless you have a Professor’s signed approval!”
When Madam Pince finished speaking, William and Hermione didn’t care whether they remembered all the prohibitions or not and hurriedly nodded seriously.
Only then did Madam Pince show a satisfied smile and process their library cards.
After getting their library cards, the two quickly left.
Once they had walked some distance away, Hermione finally breathed a heavy sigh of relief and said, “She’s so stern, even sterner than Professor McGonagall.”
Since Hermione only knew Professor McGonagall at the moment, she could only use her for comparison.
William also felt a bit more relaxed.
If he hadn’t known she was warning them not to damage the books, he would have felt like she was placing a curse on them.
“Yeah, so we must take good care of the books.
Now that we have the library cards, let’s find the books we want to read and then meet back here later,” William said.
“Okay.”
Immediately, the two went to different bookshelves to look for books they were interested in.
For William, he was interested in spells and Transfiguration.
Since he had the talent, he naturally had to make the most of it.
But after looking at a few books, he found that they were filled with vague descriptions, and some were even incoherent.
At that moment, he suddenly wondered if every Wizard who grew up became a bit eccentric, like Dumbledore, Ollivander, and the authors of these books.
“Better try another shelf,” William said softly, turning to another bookshelf.
Rounding another shelf, William saw a familiar figure at a bookshelf in the distance.
“Hogwarts really is small; I’ve run into Cedric again.”
Thinking this, William approached him proactively.
Since he couldn’t find anything on his own, this top student of the year should have some recommendations.
After he approached and greeted Cedric, he asked about his problem.
In response, Cedric thought for a moment and recommended several books, then said he had urgent business and left.
Watching Cedric leave in a hurry, William didn’t think much of it and soon went to find the books Cedric had mentioned.
“The Seven-Day Creation God”, “The Truth of Falsehood”, “Advanced Charms”, “Detailed Explanation of Charm Principles”, “Detailed Explanation of Charm Applications”.
Five books: two for Transfiguration and three for spells.
Although they were common books, finding them really took some effort.
In addition to these five, William also found two good travelogues, one of which was about the East.
When William found Hermione, she was already reading.
However, when William got closer and saw the title of the book, his expression became a bit odd.
“Gadding with Ghouls”?
Isn’t this the book written by the Professor for next year’s Defense Against the Dark Arts Class?
Of course, William could accept the book.
After all, except for the protagonist being wrong, the rest of the content was much the same, and one could still learn some things.
As for the person, better change the subject.
“Hermione, I’m back.
Let’s find an empty spot to sit and read,” William said.
“Okay,” Hermione replied, but she read for two more seconds before reluctantly putting the book down.
To be able to continue reading as soon as possible, Hermione walked briskly and found two empty seats.
After sitting down, the two didn’t talk anymore, each immersing themselves in their own books.
Picking up the books and putting them down again, it was already 12:00 PM.
The two took the books and completed the borrowing procedures, then William put all the books into his spatial pouch and they hurried straight to the Great Hall.
Although they were a bit late, lunch wasn’t over yet, so there was still food to eat.
But as soon as they entered the Great Hall, they smelled a familiar scent.
“William, is that the scent of the meat sauce you sold?” Hermione asked.
“That’s right.”
The scent of his meat sauce was quite recognizable.
As they spoke, the two sat down, their cutlery tapped the plates, and lunch appeared.
Then, William took out the Spicy Meat Sauce he hadn’t finished in the morning.
With a “click,” the lid opened, and the aroma wafted out.
Harry and Ron, who were sitting nearby playing chess, both looked over at the same time.
Immediately, the two stopped playing wizard chess and rushed over in a flash.
“By Merlin, William, you actually bought this miraculous spicy sauce that can glow.”
At this moment, Ron’s eyes widened in shock.
William:???
“Someone took out this glowing spicy sauce during lunch earlier.
The smell was just too tempting.
I heard this stuff is a delicacy you can’t buy even with money.
Someone offered one sickle for a bite, but they wouldn’t sell,” Harry explained to the two.
At this moment, Hermione looked at the bread in her hand, which was spread with the Spicy Meat Sauce, and didn’t dare to take a bite.
One sickle a bite…
then including what she ate this morning, it must be worth half a Galleon.
Hearing Harry’s explanation, William could guess why that person wouldn’t sell.
After all, he had said at the end of the morning that there was only so much sauce and he didn’t have any more.
So, rarity made things expensive; it was quite logical.
However, it really wasn’t that precious.
“Want to try some?
I think there should still be some room in your stomachs,” William invited.
This sentence made Harry and Ron nod happily.
They had only smelled it at noon and had been speculating for a long time about how delicious the sauce was.
It was great to finally be able to taste it.
Then William looked at Hermione, and she understood what he meant.
Thus, with the efforts of the four of them, the rest of the jar of spicy sauce was eaten clean.
“It really is too delicious.
I finally understand why those people were frantically asking about the person who sold the spicy sauce at noon,” Ron said with a satisfied look.
William:…This sentence successfully made him swallow the words “I made the sauce myself” that he wanted to tell the two.
It was fine not to mention such things; it was better to keep it a secret.
Thinking this, William glanced at Hermione, who understood instantly and blinked, indicating she would keep the secret.
After eating their fill, the four slowly climbed the stairs back to the dormitory.
The afternoon class was still a while away, so they could go back and sleep for a bit.
Back at the dormitory, William gave the books he had to Hermione and made an appointment to go to class together, then returned to the boys’ dormitory with Harry and Ron.
At the dormitory door, Harry and Ron also agreed to go to class together; they didn’t want to be late again.
“No problem, I definitely won’t let you be late again.”
