“What?

I am not allowed to go out?” I was fuming with anger.

Empress?

She is not my boss.”

I wanted to curse her so badly but refrained in front of underage Kiero.

“Master!

Keep your voice down!

Someone will complain to Her Majesty.”

Kiero panicked at my outburst.

“Who will complain?

These walls?” I hissed sarcastically.

Seriously, apart from the two of us, no one bothers to come here.

Even if I scream, no one will hear, and he is worried about someone complaining.

“I know, but it is not allowed to curse Her Majesty.

It is a punishable offense.

You might get 100 lashes on your back even if you are a Noble Consort.” He said anxiously.

“You worry too much, Kiero.

What if we are not allowed to go out?

We know how to make lemonade, right?” I dismissed his worry.

A plan was already forming in my head.

“Okay, I will bring lemons and other stuff.” Kiero said while leaving.

“Hey!

Stop.

Where are you going?”

“To make lemonade.” Kiero answered with confusion.

“Silly, we are not going to make actual lemonade.

I was just saying a saying phrase.” I said, amused by his naive nature.

“What is it?

I mean…

a phrase?” He asked curiously.

“When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade from it.

It means when life pushes you into a difficult situation, you turn that difficult situation to your benefit.

Do not give up.

So if the Empress is not allowing us to go out, then we go on our own.” I explained.

“How?”

“We sneak out,” I said obviously, and here came the scream.

“No!!

Master!!

It is a crime.

We can’t!” Kiero shrieked, horrified.

See, I told you.

“You said you would accompany me till my last breath, and now you are not even coming to the market?” I said, pretending to be heartbroken.

“No, no…

It’s not like that.

I am just afraid that if we get caught, then we will have to face severe punishment.” He said, now genuinely worried.

“We will see that when we cross the bridge,” I said, assuring him.

“No, we don’t have to cross the bridge.

We will have to climb the back-end wall to sneak out.” Kiero said, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“Crossing the bridge means…

forget it.

Okay, so let’s plan climbing the wall.” I said, not bothering to explain another phrase to him.

So we made a plan.

We wore black robes and tied our hair in tight buns, covering them with caps.

Kiero was uncomfortable wearing women’s clothes.

We also covered our faces with black masks.

So wearing black and covering your long hair with a cap is women’s fashion in this world.

Nonsense…

black color is for men.

Me and Kiero looked good in those black robes.

Black kajal would have looked more appealing, but forget it.

I already looked like a robber.

Climbing that high wall was challenging, but the adrenaline in my body helped me get through it.

Security at the far end of the palace grounds was not tight.

The guards had left their post for a break without bothering to call someone else.

They must have thought no one would bother coming to the far end of the palace, but they were wrong.

These blind spots often help enemies sneak in for attacks.

Her face would be hilarious.

Once we walked far away from the palace, I could finally breathe in freedom.

“Wow!

It feels nice to go out.” I said while stretching my arms.

“Master!

Keep your hands down.

That’s not manly behavior.” Kiero nagged again.

This guy can nag for hours and never get tired.

“Because we are women now, right?” I gestured toward my black robe to remind him of our disguise.

Kiero said nothing and led me toward the marketplace.

The central marketplace of Elyndra was far more lively than I had imagined.

Long stone streets stretched across the city center, crowded with merchants, nobles, traveling performers, and endless rows of colorful stalls covered beneath silk canopies.

The air smelled of roasted chestnuts, incense smoke, fresh flowers, medicinal herbs, and sweet honey pastries sold near the roadside.

Everywhere I looked—women dominated the marketplace.

Female merchants loudly advertised their goods while bargaining confidently with customers.

Some sat behind massive silk shops displaying embroidered robes and jewelry, while others sold exotic spices, perfumes, books, painted fans, and carved jade ornaments.

The streets were noisy, alive, and overflowing with movement.

Horse carriages rolled through the wider roads while palace officials dressed in dark robes passed through guarded lanes reserved for nobles.

Even ordinary women carried themselves with visible confidence.

Some wore fitted long robes with embroidered belts wrapped around their waists, while wealthier noblewomen displayed layers of silk decorated with silver hair ornaments and gemstone accessories.

Female guards patrolled every corner of the market wearing dark uniforms with swords hanging from their waists.

Meanwhile— the men of Elyndra looked completely different from what I expected.

Most walked quietly beside female family members, speaking softly and avoiding unnecessary attention.

Their robes were elegant yet delicate, designed with lighter colors, flowing sleeves, and intricate embroidery around the collars and wrists.

Many men kept their hair extremely long, some braided with pearls or decorated using silver pins and silk ribbons.

Beautiful.

Almost too beautiful.

Some even wore light powder or scented oils on their skin.

I stared blankly at the scene around me.

It felt less like entering an ancient kingdom— and more like stepping into an entirely reversed world.

And somehow…

I was now part of this world too.

But something had not changed.

Even though men wore colored robes, makeup, and jewelry, they were not flamboyant.

They still carried a masculine aura.

The way they walked was still the same as in my original world.

They were not clinging to their female relatives or partners.

They walked on their own with guarded expressions.

The women beside them carried possessive auras.

I glanced at one male walking next to me.

His partner scowled at me.

I laughed at that.

“Wow, I would love that attention from my girlfriend.”

“Master, don’t stare at men.

You are staring.” Kiero whispered in my ear.

“I am just watching.

Does the Empress also get angry when other women look at me?” I wondered aloud.

“She would be happy if another woman took you away,” Kiero mumbled under his breath.

“What?” I turned toward him.

“No, nothing, Master.

You know Her Highness is upset with you right now, but don’t worry.

She will see your efforts and like you back.” Kiero said hopefully.

“Forget it!

Let’s eat there!” I pointed toward a dining inn ahead.

Kiero nodded sadly.

He was depressed for me?

We sat at a corner table inside the inn.

I wanted to taste every dish displayed on the menu outside.

A waitress came and asked for our order.

“Bring one plate of every dish on the menu.” I tried mimicking a womanly voice.

She looked at me strangely and left.

“Master, why order all the dishes?” Kiero asked.

“Why not?

I want to taste everything.

You will make the dishes I like later.” I tapped his head.

After some time, the waitress returned with all the dishes and placed them on our table.

The aroma of the delicious food hit my nose.

My stomach howled in excitement.

I looked at Kiero excitedly.

“Let’s dig in.”

My mouth was blessed with heavenly food.

I started eating like a starved animal.

Since the day I transmigrated, I had not tasted food this good.

Kiero cooks well, but this…

this is heaven.

We finished every dish completely clean.

I burped loudly.

“Master!!

Shhh!” Kiero gestured at me to behave again.

I looked around and realized everyone was staring at me with strange expressions.

“He…

he…” I smiled awkwardly at everyone.

“Bill, please.” I smiled at the waitress.

She came to our table and said, “That would be Ten thousand gold coins.”

“Kiero, pay up,” I instructed confidently.

“Th-thousand gold coins??” Kiero’s eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.

“Yes!

Pay now.” I said, now annoyed.

“We don’t have that much.” Kiero whispered slowly.

“What?

How much do you have?” I leaned closer and whispered back.

Kiero showed me one finger.

I furrowed my brows.

“One thousand gold?” My heart jumped.

“No…

one thousand silver coins.” Kiero said, frightened while imagining the worst.

My heart dropped into my stomach.

I didn’t know much about the currency in this world, but I was sure the amount we had and the amount we needed were worlds apart.

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier that we don’t have money?” I hissed at him before looking at the waitress, who was silently watching our interaction.

Probably murdering us in her mind.

“This is my first time visiting a dining inn.” Kiero said sheepishly.

Then reality hit me.

Of course this was Kiero’s first time eating outside.

This is a women’s world, and men don’t go out alone.

Eating and paying in such an expensive dining place was out of the question for him.

And now I am stuck in this world.

Embarrassed, I looked at the waitress sheepishly.

“Miss, we only have one thousand silver coins.

You can take that and…

please show me the way to the kitchen.”

She raised her brows.

Why?

“To wash the dishes.

He he he…” I rubbed my face awkwardly to hide my embarrassment.

“No!!”

“No!!”

“NO!”

Three voices shouted at once.

One was Kiero.

The second was the waitress.

And the third belonged to a strange woman dressed in royalty, staring at me as if she had just hit the jackpot.
