The legendary main stage of Night Shift Ward?

Wow, The Backrooms has this kind of good stuff?

Thoughts aside, Chen remained extremely cautious.Full novel: Having A Not Serious Adventure In Backrooms — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This dilapidated Hospital clearly wasn’t a friendly place.

“System, hurry up and come out to scan this.” Chen thought to himself.

“What’s the rush? I’m out of energy and exhausted; can’t you let me rest for a while?”

Despite saying that, the System honestly scanned:

“Warning, stepping inside will enter an unarchived area.”

?

What new setting is this now?

“No, can you not have a new setting every chapter? I’m really tired.” Chen complained.

The System didn’t respond, so Chen had to speculate on his own.

Before, the System said if I was lucky enough, I might be able to find the real Level 14.

Could it be here?

Doesn’t seem like it.

Chen had never seen any description of a Hospital in the documents.

“This Hospital is so eerie. If you go in, you’ll turn into a zombie in three seconds. Do you dare to enter?” The System suddenly popped up, starting to provoke him again.

“Don’t use reverse psychology on me, I’m really tired.” Although he said that, the faint whispers and mental stimulation reminded Chen that he couldn’t stay outside for too long.

Adhering to the principle of “just do it,” Chen stepped into this strange forest Hospital.

Then he got stuck by an invisible wall.

Chen was surprised to find that he actually couldn’t enter.

Have I encountered this situation before?

He tried a few times, but he was just stuck by the invisible wall.

Chen was only a millimeter away from the door, but he just couldn’t take that step forward.

“Take out the Consequential Cube and try.” The System suddenly prompted.

“Isn’t the Consequential Cube unusable now?”

“Don’t worry about that, just take it out; it has a big use.” The System said.

Chen smelled something strange.

“You aren’t trying to scam me, are you?”

“…” The System was speechless.

Chen heard a helpless tone:

“Are you an idiot? Hurry up.”

Suspiciously, Chen took out the Rubik’s Cube, and to his surprise, the previously used cube could be turned again.

(The Consequential Cube changes after use, becoming like a solid piece that cannot be turned at all.)

Quickly solving the Rubik’s Cube, Chen didn’t feel any resistance, and the low humming and mental stimulation that had been plaguing him receded like a tide.

Yay!

I’ve left this ghost place!

Before Chen could be happy for too long, he arrived inside the Hospital.

As soon as he entered, a smell of disinfectant mixed with the stench of corpses and vomit rushed into Chen’s nasal cavity, and he couldn’t help but frown.

The inside of the Hospital was covered in bloodstains, with turbid liquid on the floor.

The blue-white walls were long since mottled, water was still dripping from the ceiling, and decaying beds were scattered everywhere.

“Wow, this is really disgusting. What a trashy Hospital. If I were a patient, I would have turned into a major medical troublemaker.” Chen muttered.

“System, can you scan now?”

No response.

No, System, don’t play dead.

Chen complained frantically in his heart.

After a while, the System’s prompt sounded: “What’s the rush? I’m organizing the data. Don’t be such a man-child, okay?”

Chen felt that this System really had issues; its quality was too low, and it often spoke rudely.

“Organization successful. Unarchived Area: Secret Level: Currently fully sealed: Level 14 (Another World) (Before being possessed) Field Hospital.”

Damn, top-tier five-keyword entry!

This was the first time Chen had seen a level with a prefix comparable to an emperor’s posthumous title.

Dare to add a few more modifiers?

Ignoring Chen, the System continued to add:

“Field Hospital Survival Difficulty: Class 3 (Appearance) Unsafe Unstable Few Entities”

Appearance?

No, no, this thing clearly isn’t simple.

“Field Hospital, Field Hospital, why do I have some impression of it?” Chen paced back and forth, thinking.

Chen’s impression didn’t refer to what he saw in the M.E.G.

Library, but rather his impression from before he transmigrated.

He seemed to have a little impression of the Field Hospital.

“System, which version of The Backrooms are we in now?” Chen asked casually.

“How would I know? But based on speculation, it’s most likely the W version of The Backrooms.” The System responded.

“!”

That’s it; this System has major issues.

How could it say which version of The Backrooms it is?

It’s as awkward as transmigrating into Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf and asking Lazy Sheep which season it is, and him replying it’s the fifth season.

“System, you broke the fourth wall. What the hell are you exactly?”

“No, don’t worry about it. I definitely won’t harm you. Things will work out when the time comes.” The System responded.

“No, is that how you use that?”

“Anyway, I’ll tell you when the time comes. Stop being suspicious; I’m really tired.” Get faster updates on g.com.

Chen couldn’t be bothered to have meaningless conversations with the System.

He already had a preliminary guess: this System might be a fellow countryman like him.

“Back to the topic, I remember now. This Field Hospital is the F version of Level 14. I know what those top-tier keywords you detected mean now.”

“It’s truly strange that an F version level could be found in the W version of The Backrooms.”

The System was noncommittal about this.

What Chen didn’t know was that some of the tasks issued by the System required exploring the F version of The Backrooms.

“Where’s the data? Keep giving it to me.”

“The interior of the Field Hospital contains a large number of abandoned medical items. You can find first aid kits and medicine here, but it is not recommended to use any of them. This place seems to have the appearance of a World War I-era Hospital and has long since been abandoned.”

“In addition, after a certain event, the Field Hospital has been exiled. Currently, the conventional entry points and exits of the Field Hospital have all become ineffective.”

?

Are you messing with me again?

If they are ineffective, how did I get in?

Wow, I’m really tired.

Stop messing with me.

“You mean, I can’t get out?” Chen said, rubbing his chin.

“Wow, don’t be discouraged. Just because they are ineffective doesn’t mean there aren’t other hidden exits. Go explore!” The System said cheekily.

Ignoring the System’s voice, Chen slowly inspected the interior of this Hospital.

The yellow puddles on the ground were too disgusting, and Chen had to walk on tiptoes to avoid them.

“First aid, first aid!” A voice came from somewhere.

Chen looked towards the sound and discovered a translucent, ghost-like entity wearing medical scrubs pushing a gurney, speeding through the Hospital.

“Holy crap, can you actually see ghosts in The Backrooms?”

The ghost pushed the gurney straight towards Chen, then passed through Chen’s body.

Chen wanted to follow the ghost to see what was going on, but it disappeared around the corner.

Continuing deeper into the Field Hospital, Chen could see ghosts wearing medical scrubs and patient gowns running around in the corridors from time to time.

Through System scanning, these ghosts all came from a level called Level 826.

Chen had no understanding of this level, and the System’s library system was currently a piece of crap, only able to detect the current level and levels he had already visited, with no ability to investigate information on unknown levels.

“Is this a medical kit?” Chen looked at the blood-stained medical kit he found on an abandoned Hospital bed and raised an eyebrow.

“Abandoned Medical Kit: Using it has a chance to treat minor injuries, but it is more likely to promote the Wretch Cycle, and simultaneously increases the assimilation rate upon use.”

“Oh?”

Chen smelled something unusual from this medical kit.

The Wretch Cycle went without saying; it was within Chen’s expectations, but this assimilation rate was very intriguing.

Could it be that after reaching a certain level, one would be directly assimilated into some kind of creature?
