The sky was gray that morning, as if it wanted to tell Nora that her day would not be ordinary.
She sat by the window, holding her small bag, while her aunt placed a travel ticket to the city in her hand.
Her aunt said in a quiet voice:
“Don’t be afraid… It’s a great opportunity, and you’ll find your new life there.”
Nora just smiled, but inside, she was trembling.
Since her parents’ death years ago, she always felt there were secrets her aunt was hiding from her, but she never had the courage to ask.
She boarded the bus and sat by the window.
The road was long, and the small houses slowly disappeared, replaced by tall buildings and crowds of people.
She finally arrived at the huge school…
A school unlike any place she had ever seen.
A massive gate, students in formal uniforms, surveillance cameras, and a strange silence.
She entered the school, and when she handed her card to the administration, the staff member said:
“Welcome… You’ve been registered under the Special Scholarship Program.”
Nora didn’t know what ‘Special’ meant, but she didn’t have time to ask.
In the schoolyard, she was looking for her class when suddenly… she crashed into someone.
Her books fell and the papers scattered on the ground.
She quickly looked up and said:
“I’m sorry!
I didn’t—”
But she froze.
Standing in front of her was a young man with cold features, strikingly handsome.
He stared at her in silence, then bent down to pick up her books.
He said in a low voice:
“Be more careful.”
She didn’t know his name, but he left a strange confusion in her heart.
She asked shyly:
“Where is Class B?”
He looked at her for a second, then pointed with his hand without a word, and walked away.
Nora took a deep breath, muttering to herself:
“Oh my god, first day and I already embarrassed myself…”
She entered the classroom and sat in the last seat.
At that exact moment, the teacher walked in… with that same young man.
The teacher said:
“Today, we have a new student joining Class B.
This is Yeonho.”
Nora froze in place…
It was the same boy!
The one she had crashed into minutes ago.
Yeonho sat in the seat across from her… with no interest, as if he didn’t know her.
