Nora kept staring at the picture of the unknown man.
He was standing in front of a huge iron door, and behind him the number 7 was written in red.
She said in a low voice:
— “Is this the lab?”
Yoonho answered as he put his phone in his pocket:
— “Yes…
but it’s been closed for years.”
Taeho said:
— “If someone is there now…
then that means the project is back.”
The three of them looked at each other.
There was only one path left for them.
The next morning, they took a bus heading to the outskirts of the city.
After hours of traveling, they arrived at a deserted area surrounded by forest.
The trees were dense, and fog covered the place.
Nora suddenly stopped.
— “I feel like someone is watching us.”
Yoonho gave a faint smile.
After a few minutes of walking…
The building finally appeared.
The lab was in ruins, the windows were shattered, but the main door was still closed.
Nora stepped forward holding the silver key.
She said:
— “Do you think it will open?”
Taeho answered:
— “Try.”
She inserted the key into the lock.
The key turned easily.
Then…
A loud sound echoed.
CLICK!
And the door slowly opened.
Cold air came out from inside.
Nora felt a shiver run through her.
The three of them entered carefully.
Darkness filled the hallways.
Suddenly the lights turned on automatically.
Nora froze in place.
— “How did the electricity turn on?”
Yoonho was looking at a surveillance camera hanging from the ceiling.
He said in a low voice:
— “We’re not alone…”
And at that exact moment…
A voice came through the loudspeakers:
“Welcome back…
we’ve been waiting for you.”
Nora froze.
She looked around in fear.
Then the voice came again:
“Start the game…
if you want to know the truth.”
Silence fell.
Then the iron door slammed shut behind them.
BOOM!
Nora rushed toward it, but she couldn’t open it.
Yoonho looked at her and said:
