Denki tore through the forest like a living thunderbolt.
Every step hit the ground with a crack of static, propelling him faster and faster.
Trees whipped past as he leaned into the momentum, weaving sharply between trees, ducking low under branches, vaulting over roots and boulders with centimeters to spare.
Small quirked animals panicked at the shockwave of his presence—colorful birds screeching as they burst from the treetops, tiny furred creatures darting into burrows, insects scattering like ripples in a pond.
Denki didn’t chase anything around, he wasn’t chasing them.
He was chasing his limit.
Faster…
faster…
sprinting to the point of almost losing control—
He couldn’t afford a single mistake at this speed.
One wrong step and he’d run straight into a branch or bulldoze right into a tree.
The thrill of it was breathtaking, like setting something free that you were keeping under control.
His eyes blurred
His breath roared
His feet barely stayed beneath him
Three straight minutes of sprinting at near-max speed—in a forest—was insane for any normal person.
Even most heroes wouldn’t dare it.
But Denki wasn’t most people
Through the blur of motion, something massive appeared ahead—an unmissable slab of silver cutting through the green.
A wall
A giant one
“Gonna—crash—!”
Denki tried to slow down, feet digging deep into the dirt as he skidded, sparks spraying behind him like grinding metal.
His heels dug trenches in the earth before a tree root caught his foot.
“—ohcomeon—”
WHAM—ROLL—THUD—SKID—
He face-planted into a bush, bounced off a rock, and ended up sprawled on the ground right in front of the towering structure.
He spit out a mouthful of grass
“Bleh—! …Ow”
When he finally looked up, the metal wall loomed over him—at least ten meters tall and impossibly thick.
His gaze moved to the sign bolted dead center:
DANGEROUS QUIRKED ANIMALS
BEYOND THIS WALL
TURN BACK NOW
Denki’s grin was immediate and concerning
“Yep. This is the place”
He dusted himself off and walked alongside the wall, checking its edges.
It stretched so far left and right that he couldn’t see the end of it with his eyes
“Alright… first test”
He pressed a palm against the cold metal and released a pulse of electricity
BZZZT—
Nothing
It didn’t even hum
He pouted for a second.
Then shrugged.
“Worth a try, I’ll get it one day”
Instead, he scanned the forest—and spotted a tall, sturdy tree leaning toward the wall
(Perfect)
Denki climbed it in seconds, muscles still charged from the run.
Branch by branch he ascended, balancing effortlessly despite the swaying height.
At the top, he leapt— fwip—thud
—and landed on the wall’s upper edge.
Two meters thick.
Enough space to walk on.
He peered down into the restricted zone
Dark.
Dense.
Alive.
Something growled faintly in the distance
“Yep… definitely where the fun is”
He hopped down into the forbidden side and instantly shifted his approach.
Running on ground level now would be asking to get ambushed, especially with shadow-fox packs, boars and other beasts that walk the forest floor.
So Denki landed on the nearest tree branch which would now be his primary route of transportation.
Traveling through treetops had several advantages for him
Jumping from branch to branch forced his body to constantly adjust—perfect for refining coordination, footwork, and micro-movements.
As well as environmental awesomeness, judging the distances from each branch and their strengths to be able to hold his weight.
Combined with his Electric Field while moving above ground helps him track ground-level threats in 3D space—improving accuracy and sensing range.
Denki crouched on a thick branch, letting his electric field ripple outward.
The forest responded
Dozens of animal signatures lit up below him—erratic, predatory, territorial.
He smirked, cracking his knuckles, small sparks dancing across them.
“Well… let’s see what this place can teach me”
And with a burst of electricity, he launched himself to the next tree.
~~~~~~~~~
Denki flew through the treetops like a lightning-charged ninja
Branches blurred beneath his feet as he hopped from one to another, each landing as quiet as static crackle.
Every now and then a branch dipped too sharply or his footing slipped on damp moss—
“Woah—!”
He swung down, caught a lower branch with both hands, flipped, and launched himself back up again without missing a beat.
This alone was training balance, reflexes, spatial judgment.
Constant adaptation.
And with no eyes watching him…
he could do more
“Speed? Precision? Should I pick a fright with something? Maybe—”
His Electric Field suddenly twitched
Two medium-sized signatures ahead—aggressive, erratic, moving in quick bursts.
Denki instantly slowed, letting his momentum fade until he came to a silent stop on a sturdy branch overlooking a small clearing.
Even before he saw them, he heard them
CRACK—!
RRAAAH—!
THUD!
Two animals were fighting.
Hard
Denki leaned forward, peering through the canopy until he finally caught sight of them.
Two deers
At least, they used to be normal deer.
Each one was covered in thick reddish fur, muscles bulging under their hides as they circled each other like trained fighters.
Their antlers were sharp and blackened at the tips—clearly hardened by a quirk.
The two beasts grunted, slammed their hooves into the ground, and charged.
CLACK!
Antlers crashed together
WHAM!
One reared up on hind legs and struck downward with its front hooves.
SCREEE!
The other shoved back, refusing to yield.
Denki blinked, stunned
“Okay… not your average Bambi”
He slipped his phone from his pocket and scrolled through the offline files he’d saved earlier.
No signal out here—he’d made sure to download everything beforehand.
His finger paused on a familiar listing.m
Ragebuck Deer
— Reddish fur
— Physically enhanced during Rage state
— Hyper-aggressive
— Actively seek out challengers
— Rage blinds them to danger or mismatched opponents
— Frequent injuries and self-destructive fights
Denki exhaled slowly
“Oh yeah. These guys. Great”
Below, the deer slammed into each other again—this time the larger one reared up and brought both front legs crashing down onto the other’s back.
THUMP!
The smaller deer buckled, collapsed, then scrambled away whimpering as its Rage faded, limping into the bushes to retreat.
The victor stomped the ground triumphantly, breath huffing, still crackling with aggression.
Denki watched it for a moment.
He knew the smart thing was to stay in the trees and keep moving.
He knew this.
He also ignored it.
“…This is definitely a bad idea, but I need to make this trip worth it” Denki whispered to himself
Then he dropped from the branch
His boots hit the dirt about six meters behind the winning deer.
THUD
The deer froze.
Turned its entire body in one violent motion—
And locked its furious, bloodshot eyes onto him.
It snorted, pawed at the ground, lowered its antlers
Still in full Rage
Still high on victory
Still ready to fight anything stupid enough to challenge it
Denki cracked his neck, electricity humming along his shoulders.
“Well,” he muttered, “guess I’m up next. Ready for round 2 Bambi?”
The Ragebuck didn’t wait
KRRAAAH!
It launched forward with terrifying speed, tearing up soil as it charged straight at Denki.
“—woah, okay!” Denki jolted, electricity flaring across his limbs.
In an instant, he activated his Lightning State—muscles tightening, senses sharpening
The deer was fast
Much faster than he expected.
It lunged again, antlers slicing through the air like spears.
Denki barely slipped aside, the wind pressure slamming against him as he rolled under a branch.
CRACK!
The young tree behind him split where the deer struck.
Splinters rained down like shrapnel.
“…That would’ve split my skull!” Denki muttered, more impressed than scared
The Ragebuck turned, snorting steam, hooves digging in for another charge.
(Fine. Two could play this game)
Denki skidded back, sliding his hands across the ground as electricity sparked between his fingers.
“STATIC PULSE WEB”
Yellow threads of crackling electricity shot out in a fan and layered themselves across the dirt like a trap.
The deer charged straight in
ZAP—!!
Electricity shot up its legs, freezing it for a split second—
—and then the web shattered under the raw force of the deer’s push.
“What—?!”
Instead, the Ragebuck plowed through like the trap was made of string, eyes blazing with challenge.
It charged again, and Denki jumped aside, flipping over its back.
“Ok definitely stronger then tail buddy”
WHAM!
A tree cracked under the deer’s shoulder instead of Denki’s ribs.
But it was adapting fast to jump over instead of brute forcing through.
Increasing its speed and turns to inch its way closer to him.
If he didn’t increase his own speed soon, he’d eat those antlers.
“Alright” Denki breathed, crouching low, palms brushing the earth.
“Gotta crank it up”
Electricity surged down his legs
RAIL SPARK
The ground beneath him lit with running lines of electricity as he pushed off—
—and Denki shot forward like a launched bullet
BOOM!
He darted between trees, each step igniting another spark trail.
The deer followed, hooves pounding so fast the ground shook
Denki flicked his wrist—short bursts of lightning firing backward.
PZH!
PZH!
PZH!
Bolts struck the deer’s hide, but it only shook its head angrily, eyes flaring with Rage.
“Come on, these shots would at least stun a man and you’re not even flinching?”
The Ragebuck snorted, unfazed, and thundered after him.
Denki’s eyes narrowed as he saw the line of crackling energy his RAIL SPARK left behind—pure electricity coating the forest floor.
The deer ran over it with no reaction
…But what if it wasn’t just a line?
An idea sparked—new, reckless, perfect.
“Alright” Denki muttered, “let’s try a field-wide version stun zone”
He focused, slowed down, than gathered power—
But he made a mistake
He slowed just long enough
The deer saw the opening
RRRRAH!!
It lunged sideways with a burst of speed far sharper than before, cutting off his escape route
Denki turned—
Too slow
The Ragebuck slammed its entire body into him
BAAAM!!
He crossed his arms just in time, bracing his forearms against the hit, but the impact still launched him like a ragdoll.
Denki smashed into a tree
THUD—CRUNCH
The trunk dented inward, bark raining around him.
For a moment, the world blurred
He blinked
Then blinked again
“…Huh. That… didn’t hurt as much as it should’ve”
His arms tingled, but nothing felt broken.
No fractures.
Barely bruising
A grin crept across his face
“Lightning tempering really is working”
The Ragebuck pawed the ground, readying another charge.
Denki pushed off the tree, electricity swirling around him like a crackling aura.
“Alright, buddy…”
He rolled his shoulders
“…boss fight phase 2”
The deer shot forward, and this time—Denki didn’t dodge
He met it head on.
Aiming to hold him by the antlers
Electricity exploded around him as they both slammed into each other.
And as Denki grabbed the deer’s antlers like a boxer catching a punch.
BOOM!
The ground cracked under them
The deer skidded, shocked by the resistance—but its Rage pushed it forward, thrashing, and shaking to break free.
The deer pulled itself up onto its hind legs with Denki attached to slam him into the ground.
But Denki saw this coming.
Quickly letting go as gravity pull him down, he clamped both his hands onto the deers face and kicked his output of electricity up a notch
“Not a bad idea… but you’re getting tired Bambi”
Electricity flowed into the deers skull, its entire body went stiff as it fell to its back twitching
Denki seized the opportunity, lightning flared between his fingertips.
“STATIC—PULSE—WEB!”
PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAP!
He fired web after web—rapid-fire bursts that coated the ground and the entire exhausted deer in glowing yellow threads
The deer tried to get up—
ZAP!
Its legs stunned
Another struggle
ZAP!
Its body jerked
It struggled, grunted, fought—
Then collapsed in the electrified webbing with a final groan, pinned to the dirt.
Denki stood over it, chest rising and falling, electricity fading from his arms.
“…And that” he panted, “is how it’s done”
The Ragebuck lay still—alive, breathing, its Rage finally gone.
Denki smirked
“One down,” he said, turning back toward the deeper woods
“Hundreds more to go”
