Issho slowly moved on the bed before sitting at the edge of it, his legs hanging downward.

The room around him was completely dark, though for him, darkness no longer made any difference.

His fingers slowly clenched into fists while silence filled the room.Full novel: Hellish Start at the Beginning, Get Fujitora Template — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The faint sound of night wind brushed against the windows outside.

Issho lowered his head slightly and muttered to himself in a low voice,

“After coming to this fantastical world…

it would be truly regretful if I can’t even see it.”

A bitter smile appeared on his face.

“And anyways, to live in this world, at the very least I should have some sort of ambition…

some sort of goal.”

For a moment, the room became silent again.

Then Issho slowly tightened his fists.

“My goal will be to cure this blindness.”

His voice became firmer.

“To see again…

to see this world again.”

“From Elric’s memories, which I inherited, there is only one definite method that I know of which can cure me,” Issho muttered quietly to himself in the darkness.

“The heart blood of a dragon…”

His fingers slowly brushed against the scars on his body hidden beneath his clothes.

Even after all this time, those wounds still carried a faint burning sensation, as if the flesh itself remembered the pain inflicted upon it.

“…is the only thing capable of removing the curse within these scars that will otherwise never heal.”

From Elric’s memories, Issho knew many things about cursed weapons.

Those weapons originated from Hell itself, forged by demons using dark and twisted methods beyond ordinary understanding.

Demons wielded many different kinds of cursed weapons, each carrying terrifying curses and corruptive powers within them.

And the Pendragon family, descendants of the legendary hero Arthur and one of the great families that had stood on the frontlines against demons for centuries, had accumulated quite a number of such cursed weapons over the past thousand years.

The whip used to lash him…

The dagger used to blind him…

Both had been cursed weapons.

That was precisely why his injuries had not healed normally.

Ordinary healing magic was almost useless against curses embedded by demonic weapons.

Only extremely high-level healers—especially transcendent-level healers—would even have a chance of curing such injuries.

And even then, there were no guarantees.

Especially when it came to the Holy Empire, whose transcendent healers could wield divine powers blessed by the God of Light himself.

Among humanity, they were considered the greatest healers in existence.

Yet even they had limits.

Issho understood this clearly from Elric’s inherited memories.

The severity of a curse depended heavily on who had wielded the weapon.

If the weapon had merely been used by an ordinary demon, then the curse within it would not be too terrifying.

But if the weapon had once belonged to a Demon General…

Or worse, a Demon King…

Then the curse contained within it would become incomparably more horrifying.

Issho could not determine exactly which cursed dagger had been used to blind Elric.

Elric’s memories themselves were unclear regarding that matter.

But regardless of that uncertainty, Issho now had a clear goal for the future.

To regain his eyesight.

That single thought had already rooted itself deeply inside his heart.

First of all, he planned to seek help from the transcendent healers of the Holy Empire.

Those individuals possessed not only incredible healing magic but also divine powers aligned with the light attribute.

If somehow he could gain their favor or receive their assistance, then at the very least there would still be hope.

Even if the possibility was small…

It was still a possibility.

But if even the transcendent healers of the Holy Empire failed to heal him…

Then Issho would only be left with one final option.

The heart blood of a Golden Dragon.

The Golden Dragons were said to stand at the absolute pinnacle among light-attributed creatures.

Their affinity with light magic was so overwhelming that they were practically considered the embodiment of light itself.

Especially the Golden Dragon lineage.

Their blood possessed terrifying vitality and purification abilities capable of removing even the most dreadful curses.

And fortunately for Issho…

It was not as if he did not know where to find one.

A faint smile slowly appeared on Issho’s face as he sat quietly within the darkness.

After all, his own father—

Elric’s father Austin von Pendragon—

had a bond with a Golden Dragon.

So if things ever came to that point… then he would fight the Pendragon family.

For the sake of regaining his eyesight, Issho was willing to fight them no matter the cost.

Especially now that he possessed the assistance of the system, he no longer felt completely helpless in this world.

And as for dragons…

Issho did not fear them.

If necessary, he would even slay a dragon.

He was certain of it.

A calm but unwavering determination settled inside his heart after reaching that conclusion.

The confusion and bitterness from earlier gradually disappeared, replaced by a clear goal for the future.

Slowly, Issho stood up from the bed.

His hand moved toward the side until his fingers found the familiar wooden stick resting nearby.

Grabbing it, he carefully walked toward the door and stepped outside the house.

The moment he exited, the warm sunlight of the early morning gently fell upon his face.

A soft breeze brushed past him, carrying the faint smell of damp earth and fresh vegetables from the courtyard.

Issho slightly raised his head.

Although he could not see the morning light, he could still feel its warmth.

When he arrived at the courtyard, Martha was already busy working there alongside Alex.

The two of them were washing vegetables and preparing ingredients for the restaurant before customers started arriving later in the morning.

The sound of Issho’s room door opening had already alerted them.

Martha looked toward him and spoke warmly,

“Good morning, Issho.

How was your night?”

Issho calmly replied,

“I slept very well.”

Those simple words alone were enough to answer everything.

It clearly meant that Issho had been comfortable throughout the night.

Hearing that, Martha’s expression softened slightly with relief before she returned to her work.
