When Elric was savoring the moment—having just awakened his Observation Haki, his hearing and sense of smell sharpened by the system’s rewards—the system continued speaking:

“Congratulations, host, on unlocking the ability: Shadow Fighting.

Generating character panel.”

For Elric, everything around him was completely dark due to his blindness.

In that endless darkness, a small light suddenly flickered into existence.

It shimmered faintly, then expanded, transforming into a glistening system panel that displayed all his information.

Elric froze for a moment… then a faint breath escaped him.

He was surprised—no, more than that—he was happy, simply to see something at the very least.

Even though he was viewing the panel through his mind’s eye, the way imagination works—like recalling scenes etched into memory from before he had lost his sight—it still felt real.

Just like those fragments of the past that would surface in his mind, the panel stood clearly before him, steady and luminous against the void.

Every detail about him was there, laid bare.

But when Elric’s gaze settled on Name: Elric, his expression subtly shifted.

A faint crease formed on his brow as silence lingered for a second.

Then he spoke, his voice calm but firm.

“System, I don’t want to keep this name anymore.”

A slight pause followed, as if he was letting go of something unseen.

“It would be better if I take the name of Fujitora.

So… how about you change my name in the character panel to Issho?”

His fingers curled slightly at his side.

“I don’t want to have any connection to my past anymore.

Anyways… the real Elric is dead.”

A quiet breath.

“And I am just a transmigrator in his body.”

As soon as Elric said this, his character panel updated.

The change was immediate and unmistakable—where his name had once been written as Elric, it was now replaced with Issho.

He lingered on it for a moment.

Elric—no, Issho—gave a slow nod, as if sealing that decision within himself.

It’s done.

Then his attention shifted, moving downward toward the items section.

His focus settled on the words Sword: Yakuza Kasen.

The moment he concentrated on it, information surfaced in his mind, clear and precise.

[Yakuza Kasen is a supreme blade, and according to this world’s standards, it possesses an attribute of indestructibility.

This sword cannot be destroyed under any circumstances.

Its sharpness is already exceptional, and it will further increase depending on the amount of Haki infused into it.

At its current level of sharpness, it is capable of cutting through the defensive mana barrier surrounding the bodies of Elite Knights.]

Issho absorbed every word in silence.

A faint exhale left him as he processed it, his thoughts aligning quickly.

“This is… really powerful.”

His grip tightened slightly at his side as understanding deepened.

“I know that when a person reaches the Elite Knight level, they are able to create a mana barrier around their skin—a protective layer formed directly over the body.

And if this sword can cut through that barrier…”

He paused, the implication settling in.

“…then that means, if the conditions allow it, I can even kill an Elite Knight.”

A slow smile formed on his face, quiet but undeniable, as the weight of that realization sank in.

In this world, according to the memories of Elric, Issho knew that only those who possessed mana circuits within their bodies were capable of becoming knights or magicians.

Otherwise… one would remain nothing more than a mortal.

Within those mana circuits lay the mana core—the very thing that determined a person’s path.

Those whose mana core formed in the lower abdominal region became knights.

From there, mana naturally flowed through the body, channeling into muscles and skin, reinforcing them—strengthening flesh, hardening defense, turning the body itself into a weapon.

Each movement, each strike, carried the weight of that internal power.

As for those with an aptitude for magic, their mana core resided in the head.

Because of this, their mana intertwined with their mental energy.

They could shape it, refine it, and bend it—allowing them to control various elements at will.

Fire, wind, water… all responded to their command.

That was why they were called mages.

And due to their constant use of mental energy, all mages shared a common ability—telekinesis.

A natural extension of their control, it grew stronger alongside them, becoming sharper, more precise, more overwhelming with time.

Issho remained still, quietly organizing this knowledge in his mind.

So the placement of the core defines everything…

There were, however, rare anomalies.

Very rare.

But when they did appear, it was usually within high-ranking and powerful families.

These individuals were born with two mana cores—one in the lower abdomen and one in the head.

Yet even among them, balance was not guaranteed.

The potency of the two cores often differed.

For example, someone might possess an exceptionally strong mana core in their lower abdomen, granting them overwhelming physical prowess… but their head core might be comparatively weak.

In such cases, while they could still use magic, their control over elements would lack the refinement and precision of a true mage.

Power, but without finesse.

Issho let out a faint breath, the pieces settling into place.

So, those who possessed a strong mana core in their abdominal area became knights.

But if they also had a second mana core in their head, they gained something more—the ability to control elements as well.

A normal knight, when attacking, relied purely on neutral mana.

There were no elemental attributes in their strikes—just raw mana reinforcing their body.

It flowed into their muscles, boosting physical strength, sharpening their weapons, and hardening their skin.

Their mana remained completely neutral, without any elemental influence.

Such knights could only access elemental attacks through external means—typically special weapons imbued with elemental enchantments.

Without those, their combat remained purely physical, enhanced only by mana.

But those Knights with two mana cores were different.

They were… versatile.

These individuals could enhance their physical strength like a knight, while also wielding elements like a mage.

By channeling elemental mana into their attacks, they could infuse their sword strikes or even their bare fists with elemental power—fire that burned, wind that sliced, lightning that struck with explosive force.

Each attack carried not just strength, but nature itself.

The increase in power was undeniable.

Issho could almost feel it—the imagined weight of a strike layered with both force and element.

That kind of combination… it’s dangerous.

On the other hand, those with a higher-quality mana core in their head became exceptionally powerful mages.

Even so, unlike ordinary mages—whose physical strength was nearly negligible—they could still train their bodies to some extent.

Their secondary core allowed them to develop a level of physical capability far beyond that of a typical mage.

Not equal to a high level knight…

But far from fragile.

Issho let out a slow breath, the structure of this world becoming clearer with each passing thought.
